Additional guests up to the maximum will add to the nightly rate at $33 per person/per night with a minimum of nights equal to the requirements of the booking regardless of the nights each guest stays. In other words, the smaller group of 8 pay $699 per night, a group of 14 pays $1095, and a group of 20 pay $1491. Charging for the size of the group makes it fair and affordable for smaller groups. Children 6 months and under do not need to be counted in your guest count. For example: If the base nightly rate is $699 it includes up to 8 guests. If you have 11 guests, the rate is $699 for the first 8 and an additional $99 for the additional 3 guests for a total nightly rate of $798 and so on up to the max occupancy allowed. When you put in the correct # of guests, your rate will calculate accurately. If you add guests at a later date, you will see an increase of the total cost of the property for your stay. About 15 years ago a group of coworkers started a tradition that would become invaluable to so many. Annually, we would plan a short weekend trip about 2-3 hours from Pittsburgh. A few years back, I was passed the torch as the house hunter. When I spotted this gem, I knew we had the perfect place for our Girls Weekend.
Evelyn was so helpful in answering questions promptly, and making sure we had exactly what we needed. The Summit Lodge was AMAZING. Very clean, beautifully decorated, ALL the utensils, pots and pans you could imagine, and even toiletries in the bathrooms. The small things make for a fantastic stay, and they do it the right way! The hot tub was the perfect spot for a relaxing evening with the girls! We can't wait to stay again! Thank you for a memorable weekend.

This house was built with a big group in mind. Our group of friends and their families stayed for a weekend and there was something for everyone. The location was excellent and the cleanliness was impeccable. Things could not have gone smoother for our group. Evelyn and Leslie were so responsive and helpful in every way! I would definitely return for a longer stay.

My family and I just spent a beautiful weekend at the Summit Lodge which we were pleased to find is conveniently located near many of our favorite hiking trails -- and a few new ones we discovered -- in Hocking Hills. Unlike so many cabins which claim to sleep large numbers, Summit Lodge really is built for its stated capacity, loaded with large, comfortable beds as opposed to trundles and sleeper sofas. We comfortably fit everybody around the dining room table, on the big leather sectional in the living room, and even in chairs around the fire pit! I especially liked that the entire house's decorating was fresh and well-coordinated, and not a mishmash of garage sale items like so many rental properties. I really can't say enough about the overall quality of the Summit Lodge. On a more personal note, I found the owner very responsive, kind, and easy to work with -- communication was excellent!

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. We had everything we needed from hot tub towels to baby gates and a high chair . There was plenty of yard games and wonderful fire pit. It was close to all the best hiking places.

The house is amazing and in a great spot. You are secluded with only a few other houses around. Highly recommend!

The property is just as described. Fully equipped to cook, play, etc. The owner responded very quickly to questions and we would love to book there again. The hot tub is HUGE (probably holds 12+), the game room is outstanding and we loved how secluded we felt there.

We had a great time! The house is very nice and clean. I had great communication from the owner from the time I booked it through the follow up after our stay. All the amenities and plenty of room for everyone inside and outside. I would highly recommend and would stay at Summit Lodge again!

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend! The hot tub was great and we were impressed with the high speed internet since we didn't have good cell service in the area. Overall we had a great experience and we would highly recommend this place.

This property was perfect for our whole family! We had 4 individual families meet and stay at this home for an extended family vacation. There was plenty of space and plenty to do. There were so many touches that the property manager had thought of that made our stay worth while. We were unable to find balls for the foos table and one of the coffee pots had a crack in it, we assured Evelyn that we didn’t need anyone to come and fix these things but rather wanted her to know for future guests. She insisted on having someone come out on a Saturday to deliver a coffee pot and find the balls for the foos ball table. Only complaint/preference is the pillows; our family loves sleeping with more than one pillow per person so if you also prefer more than one we recommended bringing your own!

Our stay at the Summit Lodge was wonderful! We try to get away from the hectic life of running businesses for a couple days every couple months and found Summit Lodge to be a great option. Upon arrival the lodge was easy to locate and very well kept. We found the amenities to be in good working order and have zero complaints. We look forward to staying at the Summit Lodge as well as other Cut Above Cabins the future. Evelyn makes booking very easy. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed at Summit Lodge for 5 days for our son’s wedding at a local venue. Evelyn was very helpful with all the details and answered all my questions before renting. She was quick to respond when a storm came through and the power was out for a few hours. The lodge is fully equipped with a great floor plan for large groups with a lot a extras for entertaining. The outdoor area has serene views and lots of swings and seating for everyone. The location was so convenient for hiking. We loved everything about our stay in Hocking Hills.
We highly recommend Summit Lodge and working with Evelyn. We will return!

Our extended family of 12 people spent four nights over New Year's. We found the large space and the good number of rooms great for many activities for all ages, with several options for sleeping arrangements. Location near the state park was perfect in allowing multiple visits.

A Thanksgiving to Remember
This was our families first Thanksgiving not at one of our houses and it was magical. From the house being decorated to the nines, to the overall amenities, this house made the holiday. The whole family loved the fact that there was enough rooms for all of us to have a private space, and having a well equipped kitchen was helpful as well. The Hot tub was a huge success and the easy access to the hocking hills was great. It was nice to be in a place that offered digital accommodations (wifi, dvd plaver, Cable TV) along with analog entertainment (air hockey, foosball, board games, firepit).
This experience has solidified our families want to celebrate together in new places.
Thank you.

As I said in the title line, there are pros and cons to staying at this property.
Pros: The property is beautiful! It is well appointed & decorated, and was very clean when we arrived. The hot tub was absolutely huge and was very nice to use. We had a large group, so having two refrigerators and two dishwashers was definitely a plus. The large dining room table worked great for seating the majority of us. The decks have swings & some very comfortable chairs etc.
Cons: we had stayed in another property on the same road a couple of years ago, and it was one price to rent the cabin for the weekend, no matter how many people stayed. Very easy to work with. The owners of this cabin charge extra for every person over 4. In a cabin that sleeps 20! No matter how long someone stays, there’s a $150 minimum for each extra person. They even charge for daytime visitors. It cost us more than we anticipated bc we didn’t read all of the details. Ultimately our fault though. Just seems greedy.
The owners monitor multiple cameras that watch the driveway & property, and threaten immediate eviction if someone is caught that hasn’t paid.
We just felt on edge the whole stay bc of all of the rules, which there were a ton of! Hot tub rules… a whole binder of them. Very specific cleaning rules. No shoes inside, shower before using the hot tub, no partying, etc. We were a group of professionals & small business owners in our 40’s-60’s and we felt like we were being treated like teenagers.
A few things were in need of repair, like the grill. It’s a nice unit, but the burners were shot. It took a long time to cook our food. The exterior of the cabin could stand some upkeep. The decks & railings are in need of sealing.
Lastly, this was a pretty big rub for us. They advertise a gas log fireplace in the beautiful great room, but it would not turn on. When I texted Evelyn about it, she said that because of the warm temperatures that they had been experiencing in the month of October, the fireplace was not due to be turned on until October 30. Our Thursday was in the 60’s, but it was colder and rainy for our Friday & Saturday. It would have been nice to have the warmth & the ambiance. She refused to turn them on & told us to build a fire outside.
It was a nice weekend, but a lot of our discussion revolved around all of the rules and everything. That was unfortunate. We don’t plan on returning.

Amazing accommodations !!! We could not have picked a better lodge !!
Extraordinary Cabin and all the thoughtful details were included, maps, a question and answer pamphlet, details for any question we might have needed to ask. The artwork from local artists was a real treat throughout the lodge !! We cant wait to book again !!

Four Days at Summit Lodge
Nine members of my extended family stayed at Summit Lodge for a four-day Labor Day get-away. We were absolutely delighted with our stay! The Lodge was well-equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. The six bedrooms gave us room to spread out. The yard was perfect for a scavenger hunt by day and for roasting marshmallows over the fire pit while stargazing at night. We had never seen a bigger hot tub, which was enjoyed by all, from our 12 year old grandson to our 84 year old grandfather. The Lodge was clean and well cared-for. We are grateful to the owners for the delightful experience, and look forward to returning!

The property is well maintained and comfy! We had everything we needed. Great location, pleasantly quiet! There are lots of rules with the owners but for very good reason. I’m sure this has helped maintain the quality of this rental. Very pleased with our stay.

I have to divide this as two parts- The host and then everything else.
About us first: We booked this house for 4 days- 10 adults, 3 toddler and 1 infant. This was a property which has no return/cancellation policy so we were very careful before booking it. We did read reviews about the host but thought how bad will it be...people must be over-exaggerating.
So...we booked and the reality hit.
"THE HOST"
As soon as made the payment, I got bunch of emails from the property management company. I was actually pleased to see the professionalism.
As I started reading the 'rules of the house' I lost the desire to go. There is constant threatening language throughout the agreement. You can't do this. You can't do that... If you touch this, we will charge you $500 ..if you forget your belonging's we will charge you even more $$....
For example: "Please clean the fingerprints on all glass doors and windows if you touch them" Whatttt... So if I am on vacation, I am going to go around trying to find fingerprints on all your door and clean them? There is lot of that.
But we said, that is fine. We will get through.
As we approached the date, we got more emails about exactly confirming how many people are in our group. I emailed the host and said we have 3 toddlers around age 1-2yo and an infant (2mo).
She charged us $150 for an infant and toddlers for the stay. I can understand the toddlers....but why am I paying for a 2mo baby which is pretty much going to sleep in her own crib whole time.
Then there comes the "GIVE US ONLY 5 STARS REVIEWS" part. The host emailed 2 separate times saying give us 5 stars or please do not review it at all if we going to give anything less than that. This is unacceptable.
Part 2: Everything else:
The house is nice. It is big and clean. Kitchen is small and lot less pots if you are going as a big group.
The host asks you to take pictures of all broken things within 1st hour of the check-in. But the internet is sooooo bad that you cannot email them anyways. I had to drive little further so I can email them out.
Hot tub is nice and big. Definitely the highlight. Outside seating area is very nice too.
Once you are pass the the host and her emails, this is a nice property to live. I just our experience was more pleasing.
In all- 4 stars to the house - 1 star to the host.

This Cabin was perfect for our family vacation in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio. Everyone had their own beds. The dinning table is unique and we loved sitting around it and celebrating our time together. We also loved the family games. We played into the dark a few nights and watched the fireflies light up the yard. Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this cabin.
