Base your vacation from OLDE POSTE COTTAGE -- site of Cascade's old post office in the heart of historic Cascade, at the foot of the Pike's Peak Highway. This Victorian cottage, restored and furnished to reflect its genteel past, will return you to an earlier time in Cascade's history when folks came up Ute Pass to vacation among the mountain Ponderosa, away from the bussle of city life. The livingroom walls display prints and photos of Cascade and Olde Poste Cottage from the Ute Pass Historical Society, as well as chronicling the drama of the American Post from the Revolution, through the exciting Pony Express, to the color and charm of the stamps and postcards found in today's U.S. Post Office. The cottage's bedrooms are lovingly decorated to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Perfect for four adults and up to three kids, or three couples, this historical Victorian cottage will be your headquarters for both summer and winter activities in the Manitou/Colorado Springs and the Pike's Peak region. My family and I had such a nice Christmas in this cottage. It was clean, had everything we needed, and was close to all of the areas best attractions. And a beautiful view of the mountains!! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The property was very nice and liveable. There was some problem with the satellite reception, but each time Aaron solved the problem. Not much local eateries, but that wasn’t much of a problem.
We all enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much.

First of all, I want to say, Aaron is super friendly and would do anything to make sure everything is okay. I will be back. and a side note, Cascade is close to Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Air Force Academy, Woodland Park, Divide fish and chips. Pikes Peak is across the street. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a family of 5. It was close to everything we wanted to see as well. The only downfall was that it definitely looked like it was more in the woods and secluded. It is not! It sits right next to another house and a major loud highway.

Very loud traffic noise in front. Stained sheets and towels. In desperate need of an update. Extremely strong smell of chemicals that we believe is due to improper mixing of bathroom cleaners causing dangerous fumes. Intolerable and my son and I became ill. Checked out immediately after the first miserable night and notified manager we couldn’t stay the other 2 nights and found a different place. Initially thought all was well as he messaged he would be providing a refund for the problems during our stay but then refused to respond to messages or calls after that. We have yet to receive the refund nor hear from him again. Very unhappy about all of it.

A great place to explore the Pikes Peak area from. It has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The washer and dryer is a plus and the bed in the front bedroom is very comfortable.

This is a small cottage, yet has everything you need. The property manager is easy to communicate with, and responds quickly. The location is very convenient to spend time in the mountains or to go into Colorado Springs. We loved it.

Quaint cottage with great location
This quaint cottage is in a great location that puts you in close proximity to visiting all that Colorado Springs has to offer! Great food, incredible views and amazing hikes are all nearby! Very homey feeling. We appreciating being able to purchase our own groceries and cook at the house as well, though a few more pans to cook with would be great! =) Overall, great location, cute cottage, wonderful stay.

We (4 adults) spent Christmas weekend in this sweet historic house. As stated in other reviews, most everything in the house is dated, but functional. The queen and full size beds, however, were very comfortable and we all deeply appreciated 3 good nights of sleep!

Lovely Cottage, easily accessible from C.S.
We loved this cottage. The drive up the canyon from Colorado Springs is beautiful, and gives you the sense of getting away from the city. The location is very convenient to Manatou Springs and Pikes Peak. The cottage is well equipped and had the comforts of home. It is truly a gem near the city. We plan to come back on our next visit to Colorado Springs.

The location of the property was perfect for my family. The property is older and the decor is dated, but the house was clean. There are some minor repairs and updates needed but the property worked great for us and we would stay there again.

Not clean, not maintained!
I have rarely worry about bedbugs when traveling but I did with this place! The floors were gross. The carpets need replacing, regardless they look like they have not been vacuumed for years...literally. The beds, all but one were very uncomfortable and ancient. They all need replacing. The bathroom was dirty, other than the bowls being cleaned, nothing was wiped. There was toothpaste on the window ledge and everything in the house was grime and covered in old dust. The kitchen door handles had a ring of dirt around them, I could go on and on about how filthy the place was, it was uncalled for and should not be rented out until dealt with. The neglect didn't stop there. The first bedroom door is falling off the hinges and doesn't close right, a cabinet door in the kitchen is hanging by one hinge, the kitchen faucet handle is about to fall off, Aaron installed an air conditioner, which was appreciated, but it was sealed. Even though I stuffed a towel around it bugs got in! There is mold in the bathroom covered up with new caulk, at least some of it was, and the front porch boards are so old they feel like they are going to break. The furniture is falling apart. One of the dresser drawer fronts comes right off and there is mouse poop in one of the desk drawers. The place is old, no illusions there. It could be nice if it were thoroughly cleaned and fixed up with new beds and furniture repaired. I am still shocked this place was rated well and allowed to rent out! I don't see how that is. What a disappointment!.
