About this house rental
Located in Acadia National Park, this charming house for $444 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Welcome to Moose Manor Bar Harbor. This is our home, and we would love to share it with you! Located on Federal Street, Moose Manor is a 1904 New England-style house with all the upgrades and conveniences of modern living. Freshly painted throughout with exquisite, fully-equipped designer kitchen and a fully updated bath. All the comforts of home in one perfect location, walking distance to everything. There are 3 bedrooms which comfortably sleep 6. One bedroom has a queen bed, the second has one full and twin bed, and the third has a twin. There is one bathroom (with a wonderful claw-foot tub!) on the second floor. Each bedroom includes wall mirrors to reduce demand for bathroom mirror time. Master bedroom includes a dressing table with light/mirror. All bedrooms have abundant sunshine and ocean breezes. The front of the house features a wonderful enclosed porch with a bistro table/chairs, rocker and futon. Perfect for morning coffee or an afternoon nap. The soft sound of local seagulls is often present. In the back of the house, just off the kitchen, you'll find a small wood deck with a Weber grill and chairs to enjoy the cool afternoon breeze while your steak is grilling. The kitchen has everything you'll need if you choose to prepare some of your own meals during your stay, including some basic pantry items for your use. Top-of-the-line small appliances (including Bunn coffee maker!) are available as well. Other items include Belgian waffle maker, 4 slice Cuisinart toaster, blender, food-processor, Crock Pot, pots/pans and bake-ware as well as an OVER-SIZED lobster pot for boiling your own 'catch' right at home! Easy instructions provided. Although you'll probably want to get out and enjoy all that Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park has to offer, the home is also supplied with 'rainy day items' should you choose to stay indoors. 32' LCD TV, DVD player, and a wide selection of books, DVDs and games are available for your enjoyment. We had a great stay at this property. The location was important to us and this house was ideal. We walked to everything...restaurants, shops, supermarket, all the sightseeing in town. We biked from the home to the carriage trails which was our criteria for picking a place to stay. The home was a home...comfortable, clean, cozy. We loved sitting on the screened in porch having a glass of wine after a day in the park. Would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing time in Acadia with our family of 6. Our two boys shared the large second room, our almost teenage daughter enjoyed the smallest charming bedroom, and we shared the largest bedroom with our baby daughter. It was a perfect layout for us. We were so happy to walk into town for ice cream and dinner after long days of hiking! We also loved the awesome downstairs layout and the porch, where we watched the torrential rain on Wednesday. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were so comfortable! We were so happy here. Thank you!

We completely enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor! Moose Manor is in a great location right downtown and had very easy parking! The whole town was walkable including the grocery store so we only needed the car for our daily hiking and biking excursions into Acadia. Kitchen was supplied with everything we needed, and the house was comfortable! We would not hesitate to book again!

Bar Harbor is a special place and Moose Manor was very comfortable and well located. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend. Our host was extreme helpful throughout the stay with recommendations for anything we needed.

Stayed in this home with our 9 month old, 3 yo, and 5 yo. The description was very accurate, and Paul was great to work with and had wonderful suggestions on activities. I can't overstate how great the location is within Bar Harbor. Easy to walk to everything and don't have to fight parking during a busy summer season.

Our stay at Moose Manor was amazing! You can’t ask for a better location in Bar Harbor. It is a quiet area, yet just steps away from the action and beautiful scenery. Paul goes out of his way to make your vacation special. All of his suggestions were perfect for our family. We would no doubt stay at Moose Manor again!

Paul was a gracious and meticulous host. The house is beautiful and thoughtfully stocked. Couldn't be closer to the action while also having quick access to the park.
No a/c was not an issue - except a bit of early morning noise from the neighboring post office for those in the main bedroom - but getting up early was ok with us when there is so much to do. With 6 people in the house, have only one bathroom took some organizational efforts, but it was fine. We look forward to returning!

Moose Manor Lodge is situated in the perfect location to take advantage of all downtown Bar Harbor has to offer. All of Bar Harbor's amenities are walkable and the off-street parking is appreciated. Someone from my group went to Acadia National Park everyday of our 1 week stay and going back and forth to the park is a short distance by car. The house has a nice kitchen and plenty of dining space. We appreciated the lobster supplies, as we cooked our own lobsters 2 times during our stay. I also enjoyed sitting on the enclosed porch on the cooler mornings. The owner was very responsive when we had a question during our stay. What a lovely home, we can't wait to stay again on our next trip to Bar Harbor.

The home was extremely clean with a well-equipped kitchen and everything we needed. The communication with Paul was excellent, leading up to our trip, during the trip and post-trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moose Manor and highly recommend this home.

The unit's location is absolutely the best. We have stayed in Bar Harbor many times but Moose Manor offered far and away the best place to stay. You were just a few steps from everything so no worries about finding a parking spot. The owner was extremely helpful before, during, and even after our stay. We have used VRBO countless times but he is an A+++. My only suggestion, as we continue to experience climate change a couple of air conditioners upstairs would be nice. Still, as a family we would stay here everytime we visit Bar Harbor!

Paul the owner was phenomenal host. Always checking in with us to make sure our stay was going well. Emailed us with several ideas of things to do that we had not even thought of. Excellent owners and they know how to treat their guests. The home was extremely clean and very nice. It is perfectly located in the middle of Bar Harbor where we hardly ever needed a vehicle. Very close to the Acadia entrance as well. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Paul!!!

Convenience! Walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor - including a well stocked grocery store - made our stay at this house incredibly easy and comfortable. Acadia is a short ride away, and we recommend the island shuttle service for less hassle. Excellent communication with the owner and appreciated suggestions on what to do in the area. Paul and Joy’s home is comfortable, cute, and literally steps from everything that downtown Bar Harbor has to offer, as well as being close (walking distance) to both the Carriage Trails and the College of the Atlantic. For us, a family of 4 with kids aged 8 and 10, the location was hands-down the best we’ve experienced. We biked to Acadia, could have walked to COA for our Diver Ed tour, and were right in town whenever we needed anything. We all enjoyed some downtime, after hiking/biking/kayaking, etc., reading on the front porch or playing games or watching movies at the house. Paul was super easy to communicate with and very warm and friendly. My husband and I are already discussing re-booking for next year. :)

Just an Awesome stay
The House was as described. The Location was great. It was a block from shops in Bar Harbor and you have your own parking so you do not have to worry about finding and paying for that. The House was also only minutes from Acadia NP. The owner, Paul, communicates with you in a professional and timely manner. He also will email with ideas of things that you can do in the area. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect vacation location!
Moose Manor came highly recommended by friends who also stayed here and it did not disappoint! Beautifully maintained home within walking distance of everything (shops, restaurants, grocery, etc.) and a short driving distance to Acadia. Paul is a great host who truly looks out for his guests. Our week in Bar Harbor
We had an amazing week in Bar Harbor while staying at Moose Manor. The location was fabulous as we were able to walk to all the shops and restaurants easily and were able to avoid having to park in town (which can get busy). It was easy driving distance to Acadia or other areas on the Island. I would highly recommend this property and a visit to Bar Harbor/Acadia to anyone!

Wow, Paul and Joy just made it so easy for us to have the best vacation! You cannot beat the location - right in town, but on a private street. Moose Manor is well- maintained and clearly a very loved property. It has a great enclosed front porch and plenty of space to relax on the main living floor. Everything was clean, tidy, and well labeled. The house was well equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable, including boxed fans for each bed and a pack-and-play for our daughter. Paul was very accessible throughout the whole process, and was the perfect host. This is a rare find! Close to town, but private... ample parking... spacious... both indoor and outdoor spaces... easy self-checkin... etc.
Of note, the clawfoot bathroom tub is a little slippery, but there are bars to help with getting in and out. If you have small children, they may need a little help to be sure they can get in and out safely. Also, Paul notes that the front bedrooms of the house are a bit quieter. Because the house is so close to town, it's also pretty close to the Postal Office! As some other reviews stated, it does get pretty noisy around 6:30 am in the bedroom right next to the bathroom... This didn't pose a problem for us since we're early risers, but if you prefer to sleep in a bit, you may want to choose another bedroom or use a Sound Machine (White Noise) machine or app.
We'd definitely recommend staying here if you can, and will 100% be back! :)
