Blue Sea Hideaway - Steps from a white sandy beach
About this condo rental
Located in Grand Cayman, this lovely condo for $283 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Welcome to Cayman Blue Sea Hideaway! We're located on the peaceful East End of Grand Cayman Island, this spacious, 550 square foot studio apartment is steps away from a gorgeous, white sandy beach. There is a queen bed and a single bed, so it is more suited for 2 or 3 people. If there is a 4th, they are sleeping on the fold down love-seat. For this reason, it is not suitable for 4 adults, 1 or 2 children is fine. This newly built studio apartment has all high-end appliances and a euro-style kitchen. There is a microwave convection oven, a dishwasher, ceramic cooktop, full size fridge with bottom freezer and all the appliances you need: coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc. It comes with all dishes, cutlery and pots & pans and linens. A 2nd bedroom is optional , at a slightly higher fee. It is based on availability as it can also attach to another unit. There is a short hallway and it depends on which end of the hallway we unlock the door that determines which unit it would go with. Check with me on availability if you are thinking of adding the 2nd bedroom. Generally it is $100 a week in low season, $125 in high season, $150 for Christmas or Spring Break. The beach is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. In fact, a marine biologist who stayed with us recently identified 21 species of fish around the pillars that used to support our dock (before Hurricane Ivan destroyed it). We've kept the pillars in place because the fish would leave if they weren't there, and not everyone is so lucky to have incredible snorkelling off their own beach. "The Sweet Spot" is a 10 minute walk along the beach. This is where the Wind Surfers & Kite Boarders launch their boards. The bed has a queen-sized pillow-top mattress. The sofa has a pull-out bed that is 4' wide (smaller than a double, larger than a single). Therefore, I would say it is more suitable for 2 children or 1 adult. Therefore, the studio can hold 4 people. We can also supply a crib and high chair if you are bringing a baby. You can also make this a 2 bedroom apartment by adding another bedroom and accompanying bedroom for an additional charge. Just steps from the patio doors, as you can see in the picture, is a relaxing hot tub. You are a 10 minute walk to a grocery store as well as several restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay. The place is very clean with everything in the kitchen you could need to cook meals if that is your plan.
A car is really needed to enjoy the island.
The beach is nice and the hot tub works, only from 6 - 9pm, we noticed some of the reviews said they had issues.
The kayaks were nice and we took advantage of them as well as some local snorkeling,
There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance but you need to travel a bit further for some variety.
We would stay again.

Our stay at Cayman Paradise Villas on the East End of Grand Cayman was truly an experience of a lifetime. The accommodations were exactly as listed in VRBO. The management was attentive and responsive to any and all of our needs or request. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends.

Ok.
Likes: the place is super quiet, the room was clean, comfortable, great AC, the water pressure in the shower was amazing. The bed was fantastic. It was indeed 10 steps from the beach, with an amazing view.
Things you might not like: it is about 40min from everything. Given how expensive staying in or around George Town was, to me it was well worth the trade off. This side of the island, East End, does have a problem with sargassum seaweed. That is not the fault of the owners, there is literally nothing they can do about it. But it does mean that there will most likely be seaweed on the beach and in the water and you won’t get that crystal clear water that you see in the photos, there are other beaches where the seaweed isn’t a problem, but again, 40 min drive. We went to the farther beaches during the day, and then sat out on our beach in the evening, it was wonderful for us, but it might be a sticking point.
Dislikes: I don’t think the pictures they post of the beach set unrealistic expectations. I wish I could post some pictures of my own so you could see what it really looks like. Also we tried to get in touch with house keeping for beach towels and more regular towels but we’re unable to.

East End Getaway
The property is beautiful. You have your own beach with lots of sun but shade too. Nice snorkeling right off the beach. We were lucky to upgrade to a bigger unit. Our first unit had no windows to open for a cross breeze. Because of the corona Virus, there was only one other family of 3 there so we were able to keep our distance.

Peaceful and quiet vacation property
We stayed at the Cayman Blue Sea Hideaway for 7 nights and absolutely loved our vacation! The studio was a really good fit for the two of us and very comfortable . The kitchen is new and stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, knives, cutting board, toaster, blender and coffee maker. The bathroom is clean and large and the shower had really nice water pressure and heated up very quickly. Wifi was available and we had no issues connecting.
The best part of the property is the beach right outside. This studio is part of a larger house that has access to its own private beach and access to the ocean. We swam and snorkeled everyday right from the beach outside our door. The fish at the dock were outstanding. Something else we really liked about where we stayed is that it was on the East End of the island - away from 7 Mile Beach and George Town. We rented a car and drove to the East End for our stay. It's a quiet side of the island and close to many good places to eat and quick car rides to Rum Point, Starfish Point and the Crystal Caves. We ventured out to these places, but also loved just staying on the property beach swimming, reading and napping. I would recommend Cayman Blue Sea Hideaway for your vacation.

Amazing!
So happy with our choice in places to stay! Our “home” is what made our vacation relaxing. The property was quiet, beautiful and provided opportunity to explore. The property manager was welcoming and available. We would definitely stay here again!

So much trash in the water
Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the beach or the kayaks due to the awful smell and all the trash that was washed up on the beach. It was so disappointing and just plain sad. I know tho apart was not the owner’s fault, although a little warning would have been appreciated. The hot tub also was murky with no jets working so it was just like old bath water. The efficiency was decorated nice, had most of what we needed (was lacking beach towels as listed- but we just bought our own). There was plenty of space for the 2 of us. We spent all of our time for the week everywhere except the East End due to the awful smells.

The apartment itself was clean, well appointed and very cute. The property manager was very helpful in getting us HBO access to watch final episode of GOT. The problem was outside. The beach was a mess. I understand that you can’t control seaweed but there were mountains of trash and rotting seaweed. The stench made it very difficult to sit outside. The beach front miles each way was covered in trash (gas and oil cans, water bottles, shoes, paper, toilet brushes, etc). The combination of rotting seaweed, trash, and stale water basically made the ocean inaccessible unless you were willing to wade through that muck. Luckily, we had a rental car so we were able to drive to beaches on the other side of the island to enjoy our “beach” vacation. Just really disappointed with the lack of hygiene and cleanliness of the beach area. There was a jacuzzi/hot tub on the property but jets didn’t work so I felt I was sitting in a large bathtub.

Exactly what I wanted!
This property is clean, well equipped and well decorated, right on the beach with the Eastern breezes to keep you cool and the mosquitoes away. It has good convenient restaurants nearby, also a few shops, is well away from the tourist end of the Island, secluded and quiet. It is particularly convenient for anyone using Health City services. Rum Point, and various other attractions are within easy reach. I would recommend it for anyone not wishing to be caught up in the all invasive tourism of the West End of Grand Cayman. Well worth the drive.

Location was great. Nice and quiet on the East End of the island.
Overall is was a great place to stay. The local property manager was extremely nice. Everything was clean upon arrival and everything we needed to cook for a week was there.
We lucked out as we missed a step in the reservation process and almost didn’t have a place to stay; however, there was another option and we were put up in a separate cottage on the property. It was great privacy for my wife and I.

The unit was clean and freshly renovated. We lucked out that the three other units on the property were vacant during our stay, so we enjoyed a quiet beach and spa all to ourselves. Everything we needed was in the unit--from kitchen items to linens. We booked this unit because of the proximity to the beach, the on-site spa, and the price. We truly believe that is where we got the value.
One thing we wished could be improved is the daylighting in the unit. There was one window in the kitchen, and a sliding glass door at the entry. There were no windows in the rest of the unit. Seeing how the unit was constructed, I don't see this changing. Also, the unit is advertised as accommodating 4 people. Unless two of your travelers are small children, opt for the additional bedroom/bathroom. It was a nice size for two of us. Any more people and it would have been crowded.
Like I said, we booked this location because we intended to spend most of our time outside lounging and exploring, so it worked fine for us. We even ate our meals outside.
We met the caretaker Lorraine, and what a joy she is! We didn't have any problems during our stay, but she was around working on the other units, so we chatted a lot with her. SUPER friendly and fun, definitely a great person. I could see if we had any problems, she would have been quick to find a solution for us. Her goal was our happiness and satisfaction during the stay.
