Located in Oxnard, this charming house for $452 per night is a great option for your next break. This 3-bedroom, 2 full bath home has been recently updated inside & out!! Located within the Mandalay Shores neighborhood, it affords visitors an ideal spot for vacationing. Enjoy walks on the beach, nearby golf courses, Channel Islands Harbor & Maritime Museum, Ventura Marina, plus local shops and seafood restaurants. Take the bikes on a ride to the beach or visit the shops at the Marina. Bedrooms include a huge master suite with King bed, vaulted ceilings, and an ocean view from the crow's nest; a lovely Queen bedroom sleeps two; and a third bedroom has a twin bed, twin air mattress and a pack and play. This home comfortably sleeps a total of 6 guests. There are two baths—one on each floor—a full-size washer/dryer, and plenty of street parking. Activities abound! Take an excursion boat to the Channel Islands National Park, where there are unique species of plants and wildlife, as well as spectacular scuba diving and snorkeling. Drive 10 min to enjoy the shopping on Main Street in Ventura, or 20 min to the charming & artistic town of Ojai. Don’t forget the scenic 25-mile drive to gorgeous Santa Barbara! After a day of exploring, guests can grill steaks out in the backyard, play board games, surf the Web via Wi-Fi, or relax in front of a movie. The open floor plan makes for easy entertaining, and gourmets can cook to their heart’s content in the fully equipped kitchen. We had a wonderful stay for a month at this property. We had a couple of family gatherings at Christmas and the home accommodated all 17 of us easily between downstairs and upstairs. We walked to the park near by, along the ocean, with great walking/biking paths. The kitchen was well stocked, very close to the Oxnard and Ventura marinas /restaurants/shops.

Wonderful property. Plenty of room for our large family inside and out. Just a short walk from a beautiful beach. Awesome location. Enjoyed day trips to The Channel Islands, Malibu and Ojai. We would definitely stay there again.

We recently spent a month at this beach house to get out of Phoenix heat. It has plenty of room & is light and bright. The owner, Mr McCabe is very nice. We had several issues while we were there.
The house has a terrible ant problem. All open food needed to be bagged. Every crumb needed to be cleaned. Even when doing this we dealt with ant 🐜 trails on a daily basis. They even got into the microwave. The kitchen ceiling has termites, small amounts of their dust drop on the kitchen table.
The house has all the supplies you will need if some supplies were replaced after we left, TP (we purchased a 9 pack), shower soap, Saran Wrap, zip lock bags, aluminum foil type items.
Suggestions that would make things a lot better.
The Santa Fe grill is rusty, large & unappealing. We bought a $15 grill at Walmart. I would buy a propane gas grill to use.
The kitchen chair seats need to be recovered. They are all stained & unattractive. We bought seat covers on Amazon for $40.
The toaster over has seen better days. Either clean it up or better yet just buy a new toaster for $20.
The coffee pot works but the heating element is rusted out so if you don’t get your coffee immediately it will not be hot. This is another inexpensive fix.
The landscape needs to be cleaned & trimmed up.
These suggestions are meant to be constructive. We had a nice time for the month we were there. The weather and neighborhood were great. We sat in the backyard a lot which was great.

This home is so comfortable and located so perfectly that it is an ideal place to stay! It is an older home and things are well lived in so if you are looking for pristine, keep looking. However, if you are looking for comfort, beach access and value - this is your place!

Great Beach House
We absolutely loved our week stay. The house was so roomy and well a quipped with just about everything we needed. It was nice to relax in the back yard or enjoy the view from the crows nest. The walk to the beach was close and also a very short walk to the bakery, restaurant and convenience store. The only down side was having to leave this beautiful place.
Mike and Kellie were very friendly and accommodating. We would absolutely book with them for our next trip.

Overall I’d say this was an excellent place to spend vacation. It is comfortable. Lots of space . A nice yard, a pool room, a large kitchen. The owners are very attentive . If you message them they respond promptly. The house is in need of some care on the outside. The salt air does a number on metals and exteriors.

COMFORTABLE AND ROOMY BEACH HOUSE
We lost our home in the Thomas Fire in Ventura and had moved to Palm Springs, CA.

Once again.... great stay!
My husband and I have once again enjoyed our stay at the house. It’s large and easy to take care of. The location is good. The beach is only a block away and the park within walking distance . The neighborhood is quiet.
The owners are very responsive to concerns and have taken care of any problems right away.

Absolutely Amazing
We were fortunate to call this place home for 2 months. The owners were absolutely amazing and so understanding of our transition from Italy back to CA. The home was wonderful and had everything you could possibly need to make you feel right at home. Our family was so fortunate to have found this home. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are so friendly. I can not thank your family enough for sharing your home with us. We are beyond grateful for all you have done for us. Absolutely loved it!!!
Perfect location for our family vacation. The house is amazing and is literally a couple minute walk to the beach. Santa Barbara, Ventura, Ojai, and Malibu are close by if you venture out. The roof top deck has amazing views of the ocean during the day and the lights of Ventura/Oxnard at night. The owners Mike and Kelli were so great to work with. Would highly recommend this house!

Very nice place to stay. Close to the beach (walking distance) and not far from shopping. Everything you needed was there. If we ever come back to this area I would definitely stay here again.

Lots of Space
We stayed for my in-laws 25th wedding anniversary and it was perfect for us! It was a nice 5 minute walk from the beach and close to everything. The guys went golfing a couple of days and there was a couple courses with in a 5-10 minute drive. The only thing we had to go get was extra toilet paper and paper towels. Other than that the stay was wonderful and we loved hanging out in the backyard as well.

Very comfortable, spacious, clean
It was a great rental. The house was as exactly as represented . The kitchen is large with a table to seat up to 10 or 12. The 2 living areas are large with plenty of room to have family over or just enjoy the space. Loved having a pool table and several decks to sit on. Close to the beach. Easy walk to the beach and park. The bedrooms are large. TV's everywhere! It was nice to have a king size bed in the master bedroom. There were enough pillows, sheets and blankets. Were there any negatives? Not really. I guess my personal preference would be faster internet. ( I guess we are a bit spoiled ).
Can not wait to return. I've already booked our next visit!

Close to the beach, spacious floor plan, and plenty of toys and games the kids!
We stayed with our two small children for the week of Thanksgiving. The house is well stocked with diversions for the kids and plenty of kitchen gear to prepare wonderful meals. The walk to the beach was a wonderful activity with the kids, especially with the wagon for carrying toys and snacks. We brought bikes for the kids to ride to the nearby playground and enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. We hope to come back again!

Comfortable and spacious: Just like home
Kelly and Mike have provided us a home away from home for two years straight. Cooking and eating meals inside and out was delightful with our adult children and extended family who came by to visit. The kitchen was very well stocked. Playing at the beach made our holiday so much fun. The beds were comfortable, which is always important to us😄 It was a fabulous long weekend for our family. Thank you, Kelly, Mike and Caspar!

Beautiful and Relaxing
We had a wonderful time at the McCabes' home. The home had lots of features we loved like an outdoor shower and lemon tree. The kitchen was spacious and well supplied for making meals at home. The McCabes went out of their way to go above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Everyone enjoyed our time there. High recommendation. Thank you!

Everything you need for a great vacation
Our family has been going to Oxnard/Ventura every summer for the last 7 years and this trip was one of our best. This house was super comfortable - we felt right at home from the minute we got there. Mike met us at the house and couldn't have been nicer.
The walk to the beach was quick and easy. There are tons of activities for kids (ours are 4 and 6). Ventura Harbor, Ventura County Fair, Golf N Stuff, Ventura Aquatic center, Mother's Beach, and this year watching Olympics on the large flat screen TV sprawled out on the comfy couch. They even had the DVR setup with Directv so we could record every night and watch at our convenience.
The next time we're planning a trip to Oxnard - I'm sure that the first thing I'll do is try to rent this place again! I'd definitely recommend this home to friends.

Beach fun all day & a nice quite home to return to....
Our family of four + two dogs stayed for a week in July 2016. The house was warm & inviting. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The private walk to the beach was just as described & we used it daily. Not a far walk at all...less then a block to the crashing waves!
The property was clean, beds were very comfortable...slept like a baby =)
The owner met us on our arrival & gave us a nice tour of the home.
The stores were not far for basic supplies & we really enjoyed the Italian restaurant, Ciao Italian Grill in that shopping center.
Would definitely recommend this home to others. Quiet neighborhood. Great family get away.
Hope to return again sometime. =)

Spacious!
Beautiful house! So much room! Had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Great location! Could walk to the beach and a short drive to Santa Barbara (beautiful!). Topper's Pizza was a great find...great food and nice location. The farmer's market on Sunday mornings down Harbor Blvd was fantastic!

Perfect family vacation!
We have family in the area, but didn't want to impose our family of 5 on anyone- this property was perfect! The pictures don't do justice to the house- it's very well appointed and roomy. The pool table, BBQ and crow's nest make the house fun... But it's literally 3 min walk to the beach, which we all loved - esp. since it was below zero home in Boston but 85 and sunny here! Kids enjoyed rinsing off in the converted telephone booth shower. Owners were friendly and responsive. We'd stay here again! You won't find a better value in the area.

Beautiful, comfortable home
Kelly, Mike and Kaspar provided us with a warm welcome and a lovely, comfortable home for our long weekend with our adult children. The pool table was enjoyed often when we weren't out at the beach, enjoying the great weather, shopping for food, preparing meals in a well-stocked kitchen or dining outside on the patio. Our stay in Oxnard couldn't have been better! Thank you so much for all the conveniences of home!
