About this house rental
Te Anau is located 2 hours drive south of Queenstown Airport and has many internet cafes, over a dozen restaurants, modern supermarkets a variety of shops, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, cinema (for rainy days), medical centre and dental and optician services. The library has computers and free Wi-Fi internet. THINGS TO DO: Heli-hike in Fiordland National Park, cruise the fiords at milford or doubtful sound. Golf course, scuba diving, sea and lake kayaking, horse trekking, jet boating, mountain biking, fishing, many walking tracks, boating and water sports on beautiful lake Te Anau and much much more. Having been on many cruises we can recommend the Doubtful Sound and Milford Sound cruises. Special conditions: Please remove your shoes while inside and smoking permitted only outside. We would appreciate you either doing the dishes or loading the dishwasher before leaving. Other than that please make yourself at home. Cheers Extras: Cleaning and Linen (included)in tariff

Comfortable house back from the lake, but easy walk to it and town. Only downside - not a big one - was that the water pressure throughout the house was a bit low. Would stay again.

We had a great stay at Shona’s cottage in Te Anau- it is big and spacious with everything we needed and more-not one but 2 decks, great kitchen and the location was excellent- close to lake and shops and activities- after a long day hike on Kepler track or trip to Milford Sound it was great to return to such a comfortable base. Communication was quick and we loved it- thank you Shona ! Would happily return if ever back in Te Anau!

A well-equipped house and roomy.
A pleasant garden area for sitting out at the back for barbecues or reading. It is set in a quiet location only a few minutes from the lake. It is near all the main places you might want to visit - cycle trails, walks round the lake, access to the Kepler track and ideally placed for Milford road. We are planning to come again. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely family home with us.

This was a great place to stay within easy reach of both Manapouri and Milford Sound, as well as Te Anau itself. The house was easy to find, within walking distance to town, and provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Very comfortable and convenient
We had a great stay in Te Anau. The house is spacious, well equipped and comfortable with a nice secluded garden at the back. The two outside seating areas were relaxing and we often sat on the deck at the front watching the sunset over the mountains. The location was excellent, just down the road from a lovely lakeside path into town. We also discovered a good coffee shop around the corner.

We had a great time staying at this lovely house
It has everything you need to cook and rest after long days out, including BBQ
Pantry is stocked with basic supplies and few cans of food, I assume guests leftovers, so we contributed too, leaving nuts mix for next guests
Earlier guests left breakfast mix and fresh yoghurt in the fridge for us, very thoughtful, thanks
House is nicely decorated and full of family photos
Clean and smell nice, please respect it and carpet is clean, please take your shoes off, make it lasts long time

Spacious home with all the amenities, and with a very homey feel, and we'll tended gardens.
We had a very happy time staying here and the lake was literally down the road. Local shops were a 10 min walk away with plenty of options for eating in or takeaway. After an all day tour to Milford Sound we were very glad to get back and collapse in comfort.

A very central house with all the trappings of a short stay house.
Has a great homely feel with basic pantry necessitys.
Would stay again if we where down that way.

Clean and comfortable
The place was as above. Had pretty much everything that we needed and round corner from restaurants and shops. Nice family home feel about it.There could have been a few more thoughtful touches. No way of making coffee and no cooking oil, cooking equipment a bit worn out. Owner although quite friendly could be a bit defensive when texted with asking the whereabouts of items.

Wonderful!
A lovely quiet location, close to the lake. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, with a very well equipped kitchen. It was great to sit out in the garden, in the evening sunshine, sipping wonderful New Zealand wine.

More than 'Cosy place'
This property was very accommodating for us. The property has lots of room and is very well organized. Some of the rooms were a little dated but still very functional for the stay. Unfortunately, we did not lengthen our stay, as we headed out to Milford Sound for the day following our arrival and then left the next day. It would have been a pleasure to remain for a down day at this accommodation!

Perfect for us!
Thank you so much for the use of your home. Our stay was perfect. Bedrooms were comfortable and grateful to have a washing machine to clean our clothes as our mid-point on the journey. We loved the location, so close to town but away from the hustle and bustle. Our host was such a great help to us in planning our trip as we had never been before and she answered my numerous questions. If you stay, be sure to walk to the lake at least once to catch the sunset. We hope to stay again!

It's an older property that was spotlessly clean and has lots of communal space.
It's an older property that was spotlessly clean and has lots of communal space. Bedrooms are large with very comfy beds. Property is only a short walk to the lake and the city centre so we chose to walk down to catch our cruise for the glow worms. A very pleasant walk to and from.
