Upon arrival found the house to be simple yet charming which fits our family nicely. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, the location is quiet and tranquil. The back porch was a very nice bonus to relax. Everything was exceptionally clean in place. Conveniently close to all the beach has to offer but also able to get away and have peace and quiet.

House was very clean. Kitchen had all the amenities you could need. 3 season room is a nice place to relax. Would definitely recommend.

This is a private cute house. Super clean. Beach is only 10 minutes away. Shopping and food 10 minutes up the road. Enjoy our stay every year. Been staying here over 4 years. Love it every time!! Owner is nice and helps you with anything you need to know.

This property has the best location. So close to a life guarded beach and the national seashore. It’s clean, quiet, and has everything you need. We’ve stayed here two years in a row and plan on next year as well!

We really enjoyed staying at this home! Driving to where we wanted to go was easy, and everything was close.

My family of 4 just left from our week vacation at this great little house! The house had everything that we needed and more! It was very clean, had cool AC, and spacious for my family. The outside shower was great when we returned from the beach! It was also a plus having a washer and dryer at the house so I didn’t have to go home with a bunch of dirty clothes! The master bedroom has a full size bed which was fine for my husband and I, but it is rather loud when you lay down or move. That would be my only con for this rental! It is definitely a great stay and the town of Manteo is beautiful!

As so many reviewers have stated, the photos do not do this property justice! It is secluded and peaceful, and just a few minutes from the local attractions. It is a clean and very comfortable home, thoughtfully and well-stocked with anything you might need or enjoy during your time there (we took advantage of the croquet and badminton!) We loved being able to travel with our dog, and the amenities that James had there too. We highly recommend this property if you are looking for some peace of mind with a side of sun, sand, and shopping!

There was plenty of space to walk the dogs, both in the yard and on the road. The house is at the end of a quiet road and the neighbors were friendly, all offering help if we should need it. It’s not on a beach, but don’t let that stop you. Its only a short drive to Nags Head where you’ll find pretty much anything you need, including lots of public beaches with plenty of convenient public parking. And because of it’s location there’s little ambient light at night so the stars are spectacular. I was able to watch the lunar eclipse Sunday night from my bedroom window with no interference and saw a shooting star as a bonus! The arrangement of the bedrooms was perfect for our group of 3 individuals to accommodate different sleep and wake schedules, as well as different feeding schedules for the dogs, so no one disturbed anyone else. James was easy to contact and quick to respond whenever we needed an answer to a question. And his instructions for managing the house were clear and simple. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with easy access to whatever you need.

The house was great. As others have said, the pictures don't capture it somehow. It's spacious and comfortable. The enclosed porch is big and a great place to hang out (except for the noisy house fan). The yard is very nice and the surrounding homes all have large lots which give a feeling of openness to the area. The beaches and restaurants are some miles away. But that was a worthwhile tradeoff for the comfort and value of the place. We especially appreciated being able to bring our dog.

I LOVED staying at this property. It is nicely situated on a quiet street, yet was close enough to everything the Outer Banks has to offer. The home is beautiful and full of character. It is very cozy and beautifully decorated. Every household necessity was available and easy to access. James was fantastic with communication. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely book this property again!

This very clean and tidy home was so much more than what the pictures revealed! Located in a quiet neighborhood, it had a well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture, and well supplied bathroom. It even offered food bowls and a thick cushioned bed for my dog! The heat (my stay was in February) and hot water were plentiful and I look forward to getting another chance to stay in the future to explore the birds and wildlife in The Outer Banks. Thanks for being a great host, James!

The online pictures really did not do justice to this beautiful property. We all loved the hardwood floors, back porch and back yard with the hammock and tree swing as well as the overall peaceful feel of the property. Would definitely book a stay here again!

This property is super cute, clean and well equipped. The enclosed/screened porch was my favorite space but all the rooms were comfortable, well decorated and inviting. My wife and I totally loved this place.

Cozy sweet little home. Clean and secluded. Love the back porch area the most. Owner is easy to work with and pleasant to talk too. We have really enjoyed our stay this is our second time staying here. 10 minutes from the beach.

My 4 kids and I spent 5 nights here and we fell in love with the place. As other reviews have said and I agree; pictures don't do it justice. The place has an old charm that is hard to find. The lay out allows for large spacious open common area rooms. The floors are beautiful hardwood, the kitchen was stunning and looks like it was remodled, and our favorite part was the huge screened porch with a large table perfect for eating dinner at and playing games afterwards. The house was perfect for us. Only thing I could critique would be the old TV that I couldn't get to work, but that is a user error I'm sure and we weren't there to watch TV anyway. The location could not have been more perfect. We weren't looking for an on the beach house and this was nicely situated in the middle where we went to the Northern beaches one day without a long drive and the Southern beaches another day again without a super long drive. Plus plenty of things to do, see, shop, and eat at really close. Favorites: the lighthouses, Hatteras beach, dolphin tour, The Dunes restaurant for breakfast, bumper boats at the Coastal Creamery (you will get soaked so be prepared, Try my nuts (Nut shop),and the aquarium. Wish we had more time for: Jockeys ridge, The Elizabeth Garden, The Island Farm, The Lost Colony, Jennettes Pier, more eating, more shopping, and more time at the beach. This place was awesome plus some. I was disappointed that we didn't book a place on the water no views and it was going to be a drive to get to water/beach.BOY am I glad we chose this little gem!! I enjoyed the short time it took to get to the water, lots of views and a relaxing drive. I really enjoyed how secluded we were! Now, to the inside of the house. It had almost everything you need plus some. An updated kitchen ! That was a surprise that was not in the photos it was really nice Outdoor shower fantastic for getting the sand off after Beach fun.
