Bonito lugar, falta ponerle amor.

El deck frente al mar es hermoso pero ponen música en todas las instalaciones y es muy repetititva. Esperé algo más ligado a la cultura brasilera, pero solo ofrecían canciones en inglés genéricas.

El lugar es precioso pero está desatentido. No existe una propuesta asociada a la localidad de Arazatiba, el desayuno cumple pero no sorprende y los hosts no aportan con datos ni guías claras del lugar.

O lugar é muito bonito. Oque eu mais gostei foi a localização. A parte da pousada fica entre duas praias e tem um deck que pode tomar banho de mar.

Beautiful setting and helpful staff.

Amazing views Comfy bed Great breakfast Francisco the manager spoke many languages so that was really helpful!

Superb

We had a very nice stay, breakfast was really good and this is an amazing location. We spent a lot of time on the deck and the snorkling just outside is very nice.

The afternoon staff was really impolite and the food was expensive.

Exceptional

The hosts were incredibly helpful and nice. They helped us book a boat trip, suggested great local things to eat and hiking trails to take to explore the island. The location is beautiful,peaceful and safe and a great combination of both jungle and beach. There are plenty of sunbeds, great views, chill music, a very cute cat named Lua and an overall idyllic atmosphere.

Great vacation. I recommend staying at this hotel!

Great little hotel with its own pier. The owner is a great guy, speaks English. It's great that there is always a cold beer in the minibar, which is replenished every day. Cleaning is good daily. Tasty restaurant with market prices. In 5 minutes there is an excellent deserted paradise beach. The view from the room is amazing. It is possible to order excursions on the spot at a market price.

In the kitchen, the women don't speak English or Spanish at all. This makes communication very difficult. It would be great if they could be taught basic tourist words and phrases. They just don't even know the word "eggs" or "fried eggs". .Rooms can be renovated, the doors do not close well. The hot water is too hot, this can be adjusted. Internet from our stay at 3 nights, 2 nights did not work at all. But he, in general, is on the island who has mobile Internet ...

Lovely break from the grind of every day life

Location was fantastic! Owners are very friendly and so helpful. You can feel the passion they have for their island and what they do. Rooms are on the simple side but bed was comfy, air worked, tv worked, great food and drinks- not much more needed to chill for a few days!

We had an amazing stay at Mar da Lua. If you want to relax, this is the perfect place for it. You can make trails, boat tours or just enjoy. Food in the own restaurant is just awesome! Adolfo and Francisco are perfect hosts.

We liked everything. We chose this place, because the rating for the location was 9.7 and for sure it is. It is amazingly beautiful place - beautiful mountains, peaceful ocean, cozy rooms with seashells used as part of the decoration everywhere. The boat trip that one can purchase from the Mar da Lua takes you to the true paradise beaches. We also chose the place as other guest were writing only great reviews about Mar da Lua owner Francisco. And for sure he deserved all of them - we wanted to organize one very special event for us there and he even gave a contact of his sister who helped to organize it for us. We are so grateful that Francisco allowed us to have a small family wedding there and so grateful to his sister who made it happen.

Beautiful hotel on a peaceful island

The hotel was in a beautiful location - amazing views from the rooms, and a few minutes walk from beaches. The owner and staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, with very fresh fish and excellent cake at breakfast. You can get a boat directly from Angra dos Reis to the pier of the hotel which is convenient. We loved everything about our stay!

A Little Slice of Heaven

Everything! Its beautiful and cozy, very secluded so its a great place to get away and relax, it was just what we need after a loud and busy time in Rio. Theres fish for you to swim with right off the dock, the owner is very kind and helpful and he has the cutest cat that came to cuddle with us as we lounged in the sun on the dock.

Getting to and from the island can be tricky. My advice - the owner has a company he uses regularly to get guests to and from - just go with that company, we went through a different company because we also needed to bus from Rio and the company was supposed go do both and it was absolute hell. Listen to the owner and just use the boat service he recommends!

a getaway in paradise island

beautiful location with stunning views. good home made cooking. nice staff. good advices from owners. small number of guests.

room was not the junior suite we booked but a 10 m2 room plus 2 m2 bathroom. no place to put our suitcases or our clothes, just a few hangers on the wall. just one bed side table... our room was just under the dining room and the walls and roof did not isolate us from the noise. we did not appreciate the rather loud music that was played everywhere : it is such a quiet place and we came for a peace and quiet holiday.. hopefully we managed to have it switched off when we were alone on the premises.

A paradise on earth 🏝

Mar da Lua is a paradise on earth. I spent so much time imagining this place before we’ve got there and I’ve had no deceptions. - The deck is amazing for spending time in the comfortable installations or swimming with the colorful fish. - Excellent breakfast. - Comfortable bed. - Simple and intimate since there are only five rooms in the property. Thank you very much Francisco!

Fun, relaxing and beautiful place.

Amazing place, staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly Francisco who runs the hotel and was very accommodating to everything. Lots of activities to do that the staff organise for you as well as great places to relax.

Bring some bug repellent as there are mosquitoes.

We absolutely loved this place!

Our best stay during our 3-week roundtrip in Brazil! Certainly recommended if you are looking for a home-away-from-home, beautiful sunsets - a daily visit of Jozefine (the seaturtle of the house) - fun day trips on Ilha Grande. Don’t hesitate & book yourself a night in this paradise!

A gem on Ihla Grande - would definitely recommend!

A truly wonderful place to stay on Ihla Grande to cut off from the world and relax. It has its own private deck directly onto the ocean, a variety of loungers, snorkeling equipment, SUPs (to hire) and options for boat tours. Its also a few minutes walk from a beautiful small and quiet beach and a few good places to eat

Best Place to stay at Ilha Grande!

very friendly staff! perfect location to spend your holiday at Ilha Grande! , super clean! such a beautiful spot to relax, beach access is amazing and there is a cute seaturtle around a lot of times, Mar da Lua also offers excellent boat tours to the surrounding beaches on the island, breakfast is fabulous with great variety and also food for lunch and dinner tastes phenomenal, wifi works very well
