I THE UGLY RED COUCH HAS , UNFORTUNATELY , GONE TO " COUCH HEAVEN " . IT SACRIFICED ITS LIFE DURING THE STORM WHILE HEROICLY PROTECTING OTHER FURNITURE FROM HARM BUT THE LEATHER COULD SIMPLY NOT SURVIVE ANOTHER CLEANING.AFTER 25 YEARS. IT WILL BE SORELY MISSED. IT RECIEVED A GLORIOUS VIKING FUNERAL ATTENDED BY 250,000 CLOSE FRIENDS. INSTEAD OF SENDING FLOWERS, PLEASE DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER. IN ITS PLACE ARE NOW TWO WHITE FAKE LEATHER " CLICK CLACK" COUCHES THAT DOUBLE AS BEDS IF NECESSARY. hi and thanks for looking, This apartment is a second floor, one bed one bath. it is attached to my other property listed here at 911242 which is a beautiful two bed two bath . I only mention that in case you are a group looking for a bigger place. THIS place is big at roughly 900 to 1000 sq ft. it has a full kitchen with all appliances , a big bedroom with a king bed, brand new airco , a big flat screen tv , full American satellite tv and wifi. the place is not a showcase for sure. the décor is dated and the living room is dominated by an extremely comfortable but pretty ugly red leather couch that I forgot to change when I had the chance. having said that , all the appliances and the bed are solid and the place is fully equipped. the bed , airco and a lot of other stuff is brand new. so... why pick this place over others ? 1) we give you a lot for your money. there is full internet, 250 channel satellite tv , lots of sheets and towels , washer /dryer , private parking if you rent a car , and really good security. 2) the location is spectacular. you are a couple hundred yards from the best beach, the best restaurants, a bit further to the casino's and everything else you could possibly want. 3) it's cheap. at 100 a day with no high season prices and no exclusion dates its a hell of a deal. 4) 100 a day is it. come for a week pay 700 , and don't trash the place then that's all you will pay. the resort across the street charges more than twice that and then when you check out suddenly there are 10 % this and 15 % that and wifi fees and all sorts of stuff that jacks your bill up. I don't do any of that. so... here's the bottom line... if you can live without granite counter tops and solid cherry cabinets and new high end furniture and simply want a great place to nest at night after day out and around, then this is your place. you are dealing directly with the owner and I pick you up at the airport and deliver you back there after your stay. that saves you 50 bucks in taxis and no absentee management in case theres a problem. and you're gonna love the couch...

The host was very welcoming and helpful during our visit. Location is perfect for many things to do. Property is located midway up a steep hill, which gives you the unique experience of the island. 100% recommend.

We couldn't have asked for anything better. The location was a 3 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. Our unit was immaculate with every amenity we would ever need. We cannot say enough about our hosts! Steven and Stefanie could not do enough to make our stay perfect. We feel we have found the perfect spot and hosts. Our plan is to return next year. We cannot thank Steven and Stefanie enough.

5 Star location and hosts
We couldn't have asked for anything better. The location was a 3 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. Our unit was immaculate with every amenity we would ever need. We cannot say enough about our hosts! Steven and Stefanie could not do enough to make our stay perfect. We feel we have found the perfect spot and hosts. Our plan is to return next year. We cannot thank Steven and Stefanie enough.

Location and the property owners
The location is great. Plenty of space and easy access to all of Simpson Bay. But the real win was the property owners. They are great! Super friendly and full out information about the island and where to go.
We had a great time. Thank you!

Great place in a great location.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It is just as presented on his review. Steve and Steph are good owners, always fixing and keeping things nice. There isn't a big red couch anymore after the hurricane but they got things painted and fixed and replaced any damaged things by the time we got there. This apartment is right across from the Atrium, Greenhouse and the Buccaneer Bar and Kim Sha beach, so these and the grocery store and Burger King and much more is in easy walking distance. We stayed for 17 nights. Seemed like a pretty safe neighborhood. Only thing is there is a hill to walk or drive up that is quite steep for about a block.

Wir haben das kleine einfach eingerichtete Appartment fuer fast zwei Wochen gemietet und fanden es absolut in Ordnung.
Es war sehr sauber und ordentlich und wir haben nichts vermisst, neben einer vollstaendig eingerichteten Kueche ink. Kaffeemaschine, Mixer, Geschirrspueler, etc. ist auch eine Waschmaschine und ein Trockner vorhanden. Grosser Fernseher im Wohnzimmer mit amerikanischen Sendern, WLAN sowie Aircondition im Schlafzimmer sind ebenfalls vorhanden.
Die Lage mitten in Simmson Bay und trotzdem nah am Strand ist prima und wir haben keinen Mietwagen benoetigt. Alle notwendigen Einrichtungen wie Supermaerkte und Restaurants kann man zu Fuss gut erreichen. Allerdings moechten wir nicht vergessen den doch relativ steilen Huegel zu erwaehnen, fuer Menschen mit Gehbehinderung ohne Mietwagen ist die Lage evtl. nicht so guenstig.
Der Inhaber Steven und seine deutsche Freundin haben uns vom Flughafen abgeholt und zur Wohnung gefahren, so dass wir kein Taxi bezahlen mussten. Die Kommunikation mit Steven funktioniert sehr gut und man kann sehen, dass ihm daran gelegen ist, dass sich die Gaeste wohlfuehlen.
Falls wir noch mal nach St. Maarten kommen, wuerden wir die kleine Wohnung auf jeden Fall wieder anmieten.

The unit was clean, provided everything we needed and although some of the furniture is a little bit outdated we found it quite charming. The bed is new and was very comfortable ( and so was the old red couch, btw :-). New Airco in the bedroom. WiFi were provided with no extra charge and worked reliable. Sat-TV with plenty of American channels so no problem for my husband to watch Golf live.
Steve, the owner, is a nice guy and made sure, that we felt comfortable during our stay.
Overall we were very happy with what we got for our money.
We certainly will be back, if the unit is available.
