We were in Asheville to go to Biltmore at night. We went about 20 years ago and that was the last time we visited at night. We had just gone up there in about 3 years ago with our son and his family.
We had a great time and loved the house. Someone complained in an earlier review about trees being cut and construction. That is out of the owner's control. They were working behind the house but never started until after 8:30.
Suggestion to anyone who goes to this wonderful, quiet home: Try to get there in the daytime especially if you haven't been in the mountains often. A little tricky at night.
The home was ideal for us and we really didn't need that much space but loved it.
I would highly recommend this to a couple or a family. The fireplace was great! We hope to go back again in the future.

This was our first time staying here, and we plan on returning! Beautiful view, peaceful, and easy access to both Asheville and Pisgah. Our extended family joined us for a holiday lunch, and it was just perfect for all of us and the meal. One piece of advice. Pay attention to the owners’ directions, or GPS may want to try to take you via a challenging road. :)

My inlaws and I (7 of us) stayed here together over the Thanksgiving holiday. The layout was perfect so we could all be in the same space, hanging out, cooking, eating, playing games. I was nervous about all of us cooking a Thanksgiving feast in one kitchen, but it had everything we needed and more. The porch and yard were both much used, the leaves had been nicely blown out and edged before we arrived. We also enjoyed a hike, went to a waterfall and popped into the River Arts District while we were in town. Great experience, thank you to our host!

Lovely property. Very private with a great view. Wonderful wood burning fire place and fire pit with plenty of wood. Nice vibe. Helpful owners.

Outdoors was beautiful until there were people with chain saws next door cutting down trees for new house all day starting early in morning. Then people showed up behind the house to stake the new hiuse they are building. Not exactly a quiet and calm experinence we expected.

This was in a really good location. Only a short drive to Asheville and a lot of other cool things to do. The backyard at the house is incredible! Huge selling point for us. Owner left stuff to do s’mores and we did! We saw wild turkeys, a donkey bayed at us every time we came or went, and on the morning before we left we were stunned to see two hot air balloons close enough in the valley to be in ear shot! Just floating by. It was amazing!

This home is spectacular! Secluded and quiet, yet close to everything! It’s the perfect place to relax and to have access to all that Asheville has to offer! We enjoyed time outside on the porches, back yard, and fire pit area. This house is super clean, and stocked with everything we needed! We loved being able to bring our dogs with us. The host responded quickly to questions and shared information about the area. Stay here! You won’t be disappointed!

We loved this home in Candler! The home was spotless, the kitchen was well equipped, the back porch/deck was lovely and the mountain views over grass meadows were spectacular! Our daughter who is 11 really loved the spider swing in the backyard, I wish we had been there in cooler times to take advantage of the firepit and smores supplies that were left for us, a very nice touch. The house has everything one would need and downtown Asheville is a very quick 15-20 minute drive if you want to buzz into town. Thanks so much for hosting, we had an awesome time!

The home is well appointed and better than described. The view is spectacular, fire pit was awesome and the couch was way to comfortable.
If you’re looking for something in the Asheville area look no further. This place is high on my revisit list.
Do yourself a favor and read the binder left by the owner on the day you check in. It’ll cover just about everything.

Our host was very nice and we loved the little touches such as a bottle of wine and items to make s’more by the outdoor fire pit. Large property with pretty Mountain View’s. Those was clean and had a nicely equipped kitchen.

This cottage is nestled in a forest with long range views of the mountains. My wife and are big nature lovers so this was heavenly being surrounded by trees and watching the wildlife. The wood burning fireplace was a big draw for us. There was ample wood for the entire week we stayed there. Sure beats having to buy and haul wood to a rental. We returned home rested and inspired. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful setting for a nature getaway. House sits on an amazing open property surrounded by forest and boasts beautiful views. Isolated and private, but conveniently located just a few minutes from the main highway and a few stores. The open floor plan and kitchen were great for a family setting and we loved enjoying our meals on the back porch. Firepit and diskgolf were very nice to enjoy the outdoors. Bedrooms were cozy and cute. Heidi was a great host and communication was prompt and friendly.

We loved the Candler house! Convenient to all the things we wanted to do in and around Asheville. Very clean! Everything was just as pictured and house was well equipped for our stay. I enjoyed the simple things like nice hand soaps in all the bathrooms. Nice extras such as gift basket for S'mores and wine. Fresh eggs were left for us! My kids had so much fun on the swing and we made a camp fire two nights of our stay. Perfect place to be close to everything yet feel away from it all!

Property was clean, furniture was very comfortable, and yard was private & large. Although we weren't able to use the fire pit due to the weather, there was plenty of firewood & lots of places to sit. The porch was were we spent most of our time. The grill was large & in very nice condition. The kitchen was amply supplied. The upstairs had a great reading chair & lots of books & games to choose from on the rainy days.

The house is a gem! It’s about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville yet you feel like you are in a mountain getaway. Beautiful views and the house has everything you need!

Candler Cabin
The property is beautiful and very well kept. The owner did a nice job of adding small details to make it feel like home. The kitchen had everything we needed. We did feel there were a few things that could be better: a lack of available trash cans throughout the house, the queen bed upstairs was not very comfortable and seemed smaller than a queen, the upstairs doors do not close completely, and there were only 4 towels for the whole family (but 6 beds). Overall, we would stay there again!

Nice views and comfortable space
We enjoyed the views off the back porch and the house was a very nice space to hang out and relax. The kitchen was well appointed and the living room was comfortable. Everything was very clean. Our only complaint was that the mattresses were a little too soft and could use an upgrade. Otherwise, great property.

Wonderful Experience
The cabin was beautiful and very clean. There is a great view from the back and we enjoyed the disc golf baskets, deck, and fire pit. Everything was very comfortable and clean. The space worked well for two families. It’s also conveniently located and you can get pretty much anywhere in Asheville in 20 minutes or less. Thank you for sharing your home! We hope to return in the future!

Great place for our short trip to Asheville
This was the best cottage we have ever rented. The decor and layout are actually even better than online. The house had absolutely everything we needed from kitchen to living room. The back deck has an amazing view. The yard had a ton of things to do! (We love disc golf). To top it off there were no close neighbors! We would highly recommend!

This was our first trip to a Asheville and we wanted to have a secluded mountain experience while also being close to all of the city stuff. This place was PERFECT for that! The house and property have the most incredible mountain view and it feels like your hours from the city, but are only 15 mins from downtown, attractions, the the historic biltmore area. The property had everything you need, like the view, a fire pit, sitting area, hanging lights in the tree, frisbee golf, ect. The landscaping is also beautiful. The house had everything we needed as well and has very comfortable beds! The owners were extremely responsive and helpful with any Asheville questions we had. I would recommend this place to anyone!
