About this house rental
A few years ago, we built a tiny house in Missoula, Montana. We call it 282 because the space is 282 square feet of bright, clean, open space. Our family of four lived in 282 for two years and we found tiny living quite comfortable. We have since moved into the main residence on the property and want to share our tiny living experience with others who are visiting our lovely mountain town. Recently updated, 282 offers one queen-sized bed. The space can accomodate two people. 282 is a studio with a full kitchen (stove, fridge, sink, etc.) and one bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower. It is completely stocked with dishes, pots, pans, a coffee maker and towels. It has a kitchen table and french doors that open onto a small patio. The house is separated from the main residence by a privacy fence and has its own entrance. 282 is a ten-minute walk to downtown Missoula, a ten-minute bike ride (20-minute walk) to the University of Montana and is nestled in Missoula's eclectic Northside neighborhood. Full of artists, writers and filmmakers, the Northside has a brewery, an art's center and, in summer, an outdoor cinema. It's a short bike ride to Greenough Park, the Rattlesnake trailhead and the Clark Fork River. We have public transportation a few blocks away and our close-in location allows you to walk downtown. We live on the same block and are happy to help answer any questions about swimming holes, restaurants serving local food or where to find the best latte in town.

Perfect for a date night getaway.

A nicely secluded and simple tiny house just a 5 minute walk to downtown. Checking in and out were simple and easy too. Will definitely recommend this to friends that come to visit in the future.

It was a perfect dog friendly place to stay in Missoula.

This is such a great place to stay! It was clean, well organized and so quiet. We have 2 small dogs and the yard space was perfect for them. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you

Nice small open studio like place. Better than staying at hotel.

Replace shower head to fix pressure. Replace faucets in bathroom for easier use to turn both sink and shower. Need cookie sheet.

We liked the cleanliness and how well appointed it was for a tiny home. The bed was very comfortable…perfect for our one night stay. One thing I didn’t understand was the stacking of extra bathroom towels on open shelves in the outdoor patio area where they were exposed to dust, insects, etc. That being said, we didn’t need the extra towels and we would stay here again.

Stayed here while dropping off my daughter at U of M. Location was great and size was perfect for the two of us.

We loved this tiny house - we found it clean, even more spacious than I expected from the pics, private, and comfortable. We were only in Missoula for a brief overnight stay, but loved the vibe of the neighborhood, etc. It was an active neighborhood, and parking wasn't available super close when we arrived, but it wasn't terrible, and more parking was available the next day when we were loading up and checking out.

Only two coat hangers. No paper towels. Dirty floor in the bath. Dirty windows. Four missing/burned out light bulbs. Bath mirror not cleaned. Used bar of soap in shower. 8 ceiling fixture cans extending 1 1/2" from ceiling. Dirty exhaust fan. Broken bath door stop. Patio not swept off. Extra towels were on the porch/patio open to the elements. Way too expensive to have all these issues.
However, the bed was comfortable and the floor and countertops in the main room were very clean.

I was supposed to stay with my boyfriend who was flying into Missoula the night we were staying here. However, his flight ended up getting delayed until the following morning, so it was just me. I was so upset about not needing this place and driving all the way out here for nothing, basically, but I realized this place was soooo cute and had my own little staycation! The bed was comfortable and the shower was cool, it was quiet and had amazing natural light in the morning. For sure would rebook if in town again!

The place needed a deep clean. Mirrors and windows dirty, ledges needed wiping, bathroom door and corners dirty, etc. Very poor internet, bedding was uncomfortable, pillows worn out and flat. amenities like coffee lacking, soap and shampoo bottles mostly empty, and very little water pressure in shower. dirty rug worn out and stained. It was private and you could walk downtown, but did not warrant price of unit.

The vibe was great, and we will definitely be back. Owner has great communication, super laid back and easy. Awesome area- quiet and safe. My kids liked it so much they want to go back for their birthday. The only negative thing I can say is that it wasn’t the MOST clean (lots of pet hair, and dust bunnies), and no coffee :( But they are easily overlooked by the positives. Great memories to be made at 282!

Perfect spot for our quick overnight stop while traveling thru town. Easy access from I-90 and close to downtown restaurants. The kids enjoyed the park at the end of the alley, and we had a comfortable stay.

This tiny house is adorable! Our host was very responsive and made our access to the property easy even though we had a flight delay and arrived very late. Our only regret is that we didnt get to stay longer!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Great neighborhood with kind hosts and a trail close by to walk our dog. The patio on the unit was fenced, so our pup could be out with us as we sat and had a cold drink on the patio. We walked downtown to a pet friendly restaurant and had a great meal. If you are traveling to Missoula with your dog, this is a perfect place to stay!

Great little house! There were 3 of us - we wished we’d taken an air mattress for our teen, as the fold out bed was very short. Other than that it was a great place for us. We would definitely stay there again.

We were here for a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. We were at the VRBO only in the evenings, but it worked well for us.

We arrived late and left early and the place was very easy to get to and easy to check in. The rental is in the yard behind the host’s house, but we had privacy and private entrance thru the back. It was very clean and comfortable.

We booked this tiny house because I was having bilateral knee replacements and need a single level. Also brought our partially paralyzed corgi who does better without a lot of activity around him. Our hosts were gracious and considerate. I ended up staying a day longer and they were so kind. Thank you so much

Great, wonderful little place. Loved it. The only recommendation I would have is there be a microwave. Would book again!

Needed a place to stay for a night in Missoula and am a big fan of Tiny Houses so this worked perfect. Pedestrian friendly walking distance to downtown restaurants, businesses, and Clark Fork River. Super easy check in/out. Highly recommend this reasonably priced tiny home!

Cute, cozy tiny home in quite northside Missoula neighborhood. Pet friendly was important as we travel with our "moose" when visiting our kids. Recommend for couples or besties looking for a tiny home experience.

This is a comfortable, quiet corner in Missoula. I stayed one night only, but found it to be everything that was advertised. The only minor difficulty I had was leaving at dark the morning after my stay. There wasn't any light to illuminate the walkway to the street. If you stay, and are at this property in the dark, be sure you have a good flashlight. Other than that, everything was fine. I would stay here again. Thank you, JoDee

House is cute & comfortable but be aware that it is near train tracks. It's quiet at night but the trains can be loud during the day.

The outdoor space was not clean and the yard was unkempt. Who stores spare towels outside?

Clean and simple accomadations. A little walk to Downtown, but not bad. Uber was simple and quick only 7 dollars. Quiet neighborhood. Would stay again for sure.
