Located in Norfolk, this attractive house for $441 per night is a great option for your next break. *** COVID19 Beach Bungalow Update: Beach Bungalow cleaning and disinfecting takes place from 10am to 4pm, matching checkin and checkout times. Our cleaning team wears PPE and we have standardized on the Cavicide cleaning products (used by hospitals). Arrival check in is contactless via emailed door code. *** This unique bungalow is your home away from home situated on an UNCROWDED stretch of beautiful beach on the Chesapeake Bay! Our beach faces north giving us beautiful sunrises to the east view from the private deck and amazing sunsets to the west from the beach view. Open floor plan from kitchen to living room and patio doors to the beach. Large private deck overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, BBQ grill, outdoor hot tub, and two sit-on-top kayaks on the property make this the perfect beach hot spot!!! Study/Work Note: There is a rolltop desk and chair near patio door which can accommodate the need to work or do schoolwork while on vacation. Comfortably sleeps up to six people in any combination of adults and children with one queen size bedroom, one full size bedroom, and one bedroom with a trundle bed that expands to two twin beds. The peach bedroom is off the kitchen and connects to yellow bedroom and second bathroom. ADA Note: While the living area is all one level, there are 6 stairs up to the front porch. In addition, no doorways are 36" wide and cannot accommodate a wheel chair. No ADA handrails are located at the property. House Rules: Must be 25+ to rent, no parties/events, no pets, no smoking. What a beautiful beach bungalow right on the beach! Perfect get away location from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The beach is right out the door and so peaceful. Dolphin watching from the crows nest was my favorite way to enjoy my morning coffee. Bungalow was well equipped. Couldn’t have been any better!

We had a wonderful stay at the beach Bungalow this week! The house was so nice, clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. Our favorite part was having the private beach access , which was especially nice and convenient with our little ones. Tom and Cate were great, and were quick to respond to any questions that we had. Thank you for a great time, and we hope to return for another stay in the future!

The "could have been better for us":
* Cameras - installed in front of house (common and
understandable), but also off the back of house which
made our teenage girls uncomfortable walking to and
from the beach in their bikinis knowing they were being
recorded. Creeped them out and we hardly used the
back deck to hang out on feeling we were always being
watched and listened to.
* Beds were not comfortable
* Pillows were lacking in number and very flat - we ended
up purchasing our own halfway through the week
* After departure, we were charged $150 to replace 5(!)
complete sets of towels because daughter accidentally
used a white washcloth to wipe her non-waterproof
mascara on instead of the black washcloth she was
supposed to. We don't have a problem at home getting
washcloths clean... This was something we have never
experienced in the dozens of hotels, rentals from other
companies and vrbo's we have stayed in over the years...

The beach bungalow was clean, well managed, and had everything we needed for our stay. The beach was just a few steps away, and we were able to utilize the chairs, beach toys, and kayaks that the owners provided for us. Everything was neatly organized for us upon our arrival including a book with suggestions of places to eat and activities to do during our stay. The friendly house cat Piglett was a joy to spend our mornings with while we had our morning coffee in the crows nest. Would definitely recommend!

The beach bungalow was so relaxing. Couldn't have been any better. We fell in love with piglet 😁

Our favorite spot was sitting up on the deck at night watching for dolphins and ships in the bay. We spend mornings on the beach relaxing and fishing (caught spots, white perch and flounder). Piglet was bonus, he's a sweet cat that came around for food and company. This place is quiet for being on a busy road. It's an ride around Norfolk and to Virginia Beach. We recommend Watermans for the Crab Ripper sandwich and an orange crush.

You can’t beat these views from the crows nest and the easy and private beach access! The beach is calm and relaxing. Hosts were lovely. The bungalow is nice and quaint and as described — the kitchen was especially nice. Extra large washer and dryer were great to have during the week. Beach cat Piglet is adorable. Our only complaint is the mattresses, particularly in the green room and peach room were not very comfortable. Otherwise this place was wonderful.

The Beach Bungalow exceeded our expectations! Our kids said it was their best vacation ever, and they are now in love with the ocean. We couldn’t ask for more! I miss my kids filling my pockets with beach treasures. My daughter and I each found a shark tooth! Our nightly crab hunts were also a lot of fun. The water was mostly calm with mild waves for boogie boarding and kayaking. Piglet the cat greeted us each morning and even joined us on the beach one evening. He helped our house feel like a home. We loved coming back to our cozy cottage after visiting the aquarium, the outlet mall, IFLY and the VA Beach boardwalk. We enjoyed dinners at the local Stony’s and Captain Groovy’s and did our grocery shopping at Food Lion. Very conveniently located! It was the perfect family vacation!

We had a wonderful stay at the Beach Bungalow! The location can’t be beat. We loved being steps from the beach. We saw many dolphins and crabs. Piglet was a joy and never failed to remind us of dinner time. We didn’t do much cooking but the kitchen seemed to be well stocked with everything. Had a little issue with the A/C and Tom took care of it immediately! Would definitely stay here again!

Property is well taken care of. After a long day we enjoyed the iJoy chair for a massage, then the hot tub to top that off. Tom and Cate were very nice. View from the Crow's Nest is the perfect spot for waking with morning coffee.

The house is a perfect location for a family vacation. The beach is right there and the grocery store is just down the street. For rainy or cool days, the house is 30 minutes or less from museums.

The Bungalow was just as described. The owners were wonderful - prompt with responses to our questions. There was a threat of flooding due to storms and they made sure to check in on us and even offered to drive us if needed. And Piglet was so cute - waiting at the door each morning :)

This is our second vacation together at the Beach Bungalow. Most everyone spent the day at the beach, mostly because it was such a short walk back to the house for snacks, lunch, etc.. After dinner, there's the fire pit and then end the day in the hot tub! You can't beat it for peace and quiet...though a day trip to Virginia Beach and the aquarium is an extra!

The Bay is perfect with waves that are just the right size for kids. There were other families on the beach but so far away we couldn’t even hear them. It was like we had a private beach. The kids built sand castles and played in the waves without disturbing anyone. We couldn’t ask for a better location. The new beach chairs were a nice surprise. They were fantastic!
Everything in the house is so easy to find. It is well maintained and the new flooring is beautiful. Everything we needed was there. Tom and Cate do a great job making this home comfortable. It was nice to meet Tom in person as we were leaving and chat with him. Rebecca (who comes to clean) even recognized us from 2 years ago and stopped to chat as well. Everyone was so nice!
The only issue I had was the bed in the green room is very loud. I thought initially it was the frame, but that felt solid. I think it was actually the box springs and maybe the mattress. Every time I sat on the bed, rolled over during the night, or got up to the bathroom, it was so loud it woke my husband up. Sometimes it sounded like it might break. We told Rebecca and she said she would let Tom know, which is great. It was definitely not something that would cause me to give a bad review at all!
The ceiling fans in all the rooms do an amazing job with the air conditioning to keep the house comfortable (I froze my kids out!) which was nice to come home to after being out in the heat! We even had a cool enough evening that we were able to enjoy the hot tub without overheating.
We like going to different places and experiencing new things with our kids, but this house called to us to return. You are really spoiled by the location. We will be back again for sure. The beach will call us back!

We had a really nice stay. The place is somewhat dated in a not-so-great part of town. But it was awesome to have basically a private beach to ourselves on the calm water of the Chesapeake Bay.
