Checks most of the boxes for room, comfort, and entertainment. Wife did complain about lack of certain kitchen utensils, but no deal breakers there. The porch goes most way around the cabin. A gazebo was short distance away. View of tbe mountains was great. We did have a roach turn up on the stairway one day. It was half-dead with legs in the air, but still kicking. So the property must have had been sprayed at some point. The theater room was nice, but someone had disconnected the hdmi cables to the sound bar and the hdmi switch. It took a little time to put them all back, and after that it was nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy watching a movie. Pool table was nice. The masterbath did smell a bit odoriferous, but it looked clean. Personally I wouldn't use the ice and water from the frig' because the ice tasted a bit bitter. So not sure if the water filter in the frig had been changed regularly. So the big things with the cabin are all good with some complaints as well.

The property had everything that we could need, but wasn't as tidy as we would have expected. The windows along the deck on the main floor were very dirty and smeared which diminished to wonderful view. The queen bunk beds downstairs weren't made up, and there were crumbs in the top bunk. The outside grill starter didn't work,and there weren't any matches or lighter to use to light it. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place for the family, and everyone enjoyed the downstairs game room thoroughly. The large bear that kept hanging around was exciting to see, if not a little scary.

It could have been a bit cleaner, dead bugs on windowsills, windows not clean, I picked up one of the remotes and it felt sticky. the downstairs frig leaked, one of the toilets upstairs didn't flush well. I have stayed in many properties and condos elswhere and this one needs a bit more help. they provide cheap soap to clean with in shower and wash hands, it doesn't even lather up, no shampoo. not enough towels were provided or trash bags. The one thing I lke when staying in the mountains is sitting in the hot tub or on the porch and looking at the beautiful scenery. This cabin does not have scenery of mountains, oh you can see a small portion through the trees. most of the scenery was trees, I can see those at home. If you want scenery of the blueridge mountains don't stay here. The drive to the property was easy. No big hills to go up, I guess thats why there is no views. I would not stay here again. For the price you pay it should have been much better.

There are a couple of things that would have made our stay perfect- i would have liked to have had access to recycling. We accumulated a lot of trash in 7 days & I would have preferred to recycle half of it! I also wish that the description had been a little better. We chose this cabin because of the ramp leading into it & to the gazebo. I assumed it would be more wheelchair accessible than it was. The description claimed the gazebo was gotten to from a ramp. This was untrue. Because of how steep the grounds are the lowest floor is not wheelchair accessible at all from inside or outside. This meant one of our family members did not have access to the gazebo, hot tub, sauna, pool & ice hockey tables, or the theater room. I wish we had known this ahead of time so that family member hadn't been looking forward to the hot tub & sauna. I also wish they would have called the upper floor "soaking tubs" bath tubs. The term "soaking" leads you to believe that the tubs are oversized for soaking. They are not. They are typical, to smaller than typical bathtub size. Overall, the cabin was perfect for a covid family get together, while trying to avoid other people. It really is beautiful & spacious. The area is gorgeous as well- we were able to see snow capped mountains from our wrap around porch. Downtown Gatlinburg was a very close drive. I believe the theater projector played regular dvd's, so remember to bring your own! They supply 3 movies. The management company was very quick to pick up garbage every time we called them. Everyone that we spoke to was very kind, even the person in charge of texting. I loved the contact free check in-check out process, it was very easy!

Some of the appliances in the kitchen were broken. I fell off one of the stools in the game room because it was broken. There was a millipede infestation on the bottom level. I had to call for a trash pick up and they only came the one time I called even though I would think it would a daily thing to help keep bears always. The cable box would not work in the bunk room on the bottom floor. The internet went out a couple times (could've been the rainy weather). I had to go out and get batteries for the remotes. I paid over $4500 for this cabin and regretted it from the moment I walked through the door.

With all that being said the resort itself was very helpful and patient with the booking. When I did call them about an issue they were on top of it. Friendly customer service staff (even though maintenance seemed annoyed) and clean surroundings, very quiet. I would maybe book with Elk Springs Resort again just maybe not this cabin in particular.

Master Bedroom had a sex toy left in it and downstairs there were dirty clothes and underwear. The cleaning was very much less to be desired. Every-time we did call the management staff was attentive to send somebody up, but they never wore a mask once. We even asked them after the 1st time somebody stopped by to ensure employees would wear a mask when coming in and they assured us they would going forward. That never happened. This is our 4th visit to Elk Spring Resorts and by far the worst experience.

However we discovered the sheets on two of the beds had not been changed prior to our arrival. Thankfully property management did work to change the bedding as requested. In the kitchen, the skillets were rusty and other cookware was worn out. The management company did help us quiet down the rowdy neighbors 3 out of the 6 night stay but we had to drive around late at night to get the names of the cabins where folks were making noise and partying and provide this info to the management. Elk Springs needs to improve its communication to renters about "quiet time" after 10PM. We also had a significant roof leak in the kitchen following a rain storm and management will follow-up on the roof leak. I would not recommend this cabin for families with young children.

Overall the stay was great. Location was great and easy to find, and even though the cabins in the resort are close together, this one felt secluded. My only issue was the cleanliness. When we arrived, the floor was sticky upstairs and down, and there was still food caked onto some of the surfaces. We also found some trash (chip bags) under some of the furniture, which shows it wasn’t swept very well. I will say that once I informed the management about the issue, they sent the cleaning crew back out the same day to mop the floors and clean. When they arrived, they used pledge to clean the table top...which explains why they weren’t sanitary or clean when we arrived. Management response was great, but cleaning crew needs better training.
