About this house rental
My family and I live full time in Lexington, MA. We decided to purchase our first vacation home in Chatham, MA in 2008. While the main reason was the proximity to our home near Boston, we also realized how much Chatham reminded us of our time on Nantucket Island. Chatham has all the charm and beauty as Nantucket Island, which is where we married. This was our first purchase and because of the experience, quality of life, great memories and including the fantastic year-round vibe, we decided to purchase an additional property and begin our long-term investment in the town and surrounding area. This property with its nautical theme and original refurbished floors, will provide a unique experience for guests that want to have some privacy from the downtown crowds but also be within a mile of Chatham Harbor, Chatham Bars Inn and Downtown Chatham Center. Beautiful year-round vacation home with finished hardwood floors throughout and a beautiful tile bathtub & shower off the master first floor bedroom. The kitchen has nice finished wood countertops with all the appliances. Includes year-round Heat and A/C throughout on those humid days/evenings! Two bedrooms up and two bedrooms down! Giant deck in fully fenced in backyard takes full advantage of both sun and yard area. Spring, summer & fall seasonal ping pong table, above ground firepit, volleyball net, and fenced in hot/cold outdoor shower. Beach chairs (6+) and bikes (2+) Include cooler/wheels and beach trolley (other kids beach items) Huge stainless-steel grill (direct gas hookup) on backyard brick porch. Spring/Summer garage loft open (no HVAC) for guest overflow or just kids that want some extra privacy! The house is clean, fully stocked with everything you need, has a great back deck and a large fenced-in yard. Location was ideal for us: just close enough to town and beaches, but not packed into a crowded block.
The house itself is clean and comfortable. Some rooms could use a little updating, but overall, we were very happy during our stay over New Year's.
Owners were very responsive to our questions.

My group was in town for a wedding in Chatham, and we were delighted to stay in this large home that was conveniently located a short walk to town and very central to the wedding parties. The rehearsal dinner and wedding were each only a quick rideshare away, and on Saturday while we had downtime we popped to Main Street for brunch and to browse the local shops. Unfortunately we had a rainy weekend, but I believe the beach was close by as well.
The house itself was great, I wish we were staying longer! Huge fenced-in yard with ping-pong, a fire-pit, and grill were all out back. The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances and all the necessities. As we were a group of 5, it was nice that everyone had their own room (my partner and I took the master-bed) and space to spread out. I know there was another bathroom and bedroom above the garage but we didn't even feel the need to go into it, there was plenty of space and bathrooms in the main house.
Overall a lovely stay! My only constructive feedback is that I think the linens situation could be improved - while the listing is clear about bringing or renting sheets and towels (and it was easy to do so) it would have been nice if that was just included in the overall booking so its one less thing to think about.
Thank you for a great weekend! If/when I'm back on the Cape, I would definitely rent this house again!

We stayed here with family and dogs. It was comfortable, and completely secure for our dogs. We enjoyed it greatly!

This property has a very nice, fenced yard for the dogs making their stay terrific. The fence was secure even for our little dog (11 lbs). In/out through sliding glass door made access to yard simple.
Kitchen was stocked with pots & pans, good for our Thanksgiving meal. Gas grill also nice to have on patio. Place was clean and sleeping spaces spread out.
Downsides: had to bring own towels/linens & we don't own king sized sheets; blower on furnace (AC?) ran constantly and sounded like heavy windstorm making it harder to sleep deeply; regular traffic noise for front bedrooms.

We loved our stay! House was very clean with incredibly comfortable beds and had all amenities needed. The backyard right off the dining area is such a perfect place for entertaining with plenty of seating and yard space for yard games. Would love to come back to Chatham and stay again!

Perfect house, perfect location in Chatham.
David & Evelyn, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home. It was perfect for myself, two children, my parents and our family dog. The home was well appointed, very clean and had all expected commodities. Having a washing machine at the beach is a plus, as the girls couldn’t stop chasing crabs! This home is lovely and the backyard is spacious and well appointed, with the outdoor shower, gas grill and fire pit! We will definitely be back! Thanks again!

Wife and I rented the hose from 06Sep thru 10 Sep 2021 on a list minute vacation whim. I booked this property rather quickly without my typical due diligence. Fortunately, I lucked out as this property was a true pleasure. The house is very well maintained and provides plenty of room for relaxation. What I really liked was how well items in the house were detailed. Having rented several homes in the past the simple process of knowing which switch to turn on the patio light can be a challenge. Dave & Evelyn have done an excellent job of labeling switches, instruction on remotes, how to use a provided supplemental speaker for my music... again was so nice to have the guidance. I had some concern on how close the house was to RT 28, but this was not an issue. The home itself with a beautiful outside sitting area (and fire pit) should give most folks plenty of room for stretching out. Coordination prior to arrival was excellent. We received an email with documentation on Do’ & Don’ts, supplier for linen and instructions for house access. Dave was very quick to respond to my question (details on beds so I could order linen). Very happy with eh home and certainly would stay again an recommend to others.

We stayed at this lovely property for a girl weekend. It was very clean and spacious. The outdoor space was great. We utilized the deck for outdoor meals and the fire pit at night. I would recommend this house and we will definitely rent it again in the future!

Labor Day Birthday Weekend
We had a fantastic stay at David and Evelyn’s property. It was so easy to find and had ample parking for 2 cars. The beds were comfortable and the apartment felt very clean once we arrived. Would definitelt recommend this Vrbo location.

Our family of five really enjoyed staying at this lovely property. The backyard is amazing for families and the bonus space above the garage is AWESOME. The property owners are also extremely kind, welcoming, and over-the-top accommodating. We are so sad to leave but we'll be back!

We had a sweet time in David and Evelyn's house. They were very responsive and helpful. The location was an easy drive to downtown Chatham, which had plenty of parking for our late June stay. The house was a little smaller than we thought from the pictures, but clean and lovely. Like many houses on the Cape, it's right on a main road so you can hear traffic... a day of that and we no longer noticed, though. Extra points for the convenient Netflix and Amazon account access already provided (no searching for passwords...) The kitchen was outfitted with EVERYTHING which made cooking for our group a breeze. The master bedroom and bathroom were gorgeous. The second bedroom upstairs has a day bed with a trundle, though, which may be a challenge for particularly tall people (my 5' 8" sister had no problem sleeping there.) I don't remember a picture of that room featured on the website; I think it was referred to as the other bedroom with twin beds. The main street in Chatham is wonderful, and don't miss the Friday night band concert downtown during the summer!

Just an awesome home and Location
A true Cape Cod dream home. David and Evelyn could not have been more accommodating. My family throughly enjoyed our week on the Cape and my wife and I would highly recommend their home to everyone. Great fenced in back yard with volley ⚽️, badminton 🏸 , horseshoes, 🏓 ping pong, along with a great deck and brand new Weber gas grill. Enjoy , Enjoy Interior is beautiful, great master bedroom , kids enjoyed the loft.

Truly Relaxing!
This gem was everything we needed. 4 comfortable bedrooms, with a beautiful master suite and needed privacy.
Kitchen and living room was very comfortable and had plenty of space for all 8 of us. Fenced-in yard, huge deck, fire pit, gas grill with direct hook up.
You would not know the house is right on Rt. 28, very quiet in back yard and traffic not to heavy.
Will be returning!

Favorite Vacation House in Chatham
When we walked through the door, we were so thrilled with how meticulously clean it was! Because this is our second summer renting Evelyn and Dave's lovely Chatham home, we felt right at home! The bedrooms are so comfortable and the loft over the garage was great for our 19 year old daughter and her few friends who spent a couple of nights with us. Although the weather wasn't as great as we would have liked, we still enjoyed a few good beach days down at Ridgevale Beach and some competitive Kan-Jam tournaments in the spacious backyard. Our 2 non shedding dogs love this house as much as we do; we've already booked next year's summer vacation. Thanks Evelyn and Dave!

Excellent place to stay with a family!
We had a GREAT time in Chatham and this property was great for our big family. We loved the fenced in yard with children and a grand dog! The house was really clean and well appointed. The backyard was a great place to cookout and entertain in the evenings. My family loved the ping pong table! Excellent location. Close to town and the bike trail. We would definitely recommend this property and stay here again!

Great property!
We had a great stay at David and Evelyn's home. This really felt like a home away from home. Great property. Very clean, comfortable and a great yard. Awesome location to. Minutes to Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham fish market, Main St and Lazy Lobster and the Shark museum right across the street was great. David and Evelyn were great throughout the whole process as well. We've been renting on the Cape for years now and they were by far the most responsive and accommodating. Evelyn even offered to set us up with a babysitter during our stay. That was a first and much appreciated that we were dealing with someone who would go above and beyond like that. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Chatham.

Thoughtfully orchestrated getaway. If they don't have it, you don't need it...
We were in town for a weekend wedding and were happy with our decision to stay here. We piled in 2 grandparents, 2 kids and 4 adults and had plenty of room and distractions to pass the time we weren't being wedding guests. Although not really walk-able to downtown, this location is self-sufficient enough to get there and forget the rest.

Great house, nice amenities and big back yard for a great week in Chatham
The house didn't disappoint. The garage was great to have, keeping our bikes covered and for loading/unloading. Well- equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings. The house was clean and well maintained, with nice touches regarding supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels and soaps, etc. The owners got back with us quickly with questions we had. I would recommend this property for a wonderful stay in Chatham. We did need to drive to our destinations, restaurants, grocery store, but everything was close enough and we were able to get to the bike trail easily for walking and biking. The back yard was handy for our dog to stretch her legs in the morning. And she had fun taking walks on the Colony Trail and a visit to Thompson's Field. Thanks for such a nice house to enjoy our Cape Cod vacation.

Best Vacation Ever!
Our family, which now includes 3 young adult children and 2 dogs, have been vacationing on the Cape for 23 years. This was by far one of our most favorite houses to rent. The space was perfect for us and had all the amenities we could ever want. The master bedroom wing was private and our dogs felt comfortable staying in there when we would leave them for a few hours to go to the beach. The loft over the garage was used a couple of nights by my 18 year old daughter and a few of her friends who were also vacationing on the Cape. When we found the toaster not to be working properly , we let the owners know and they had one shipped right away to us from Amazon! Thanks Evelyn and Dave! We hope to return next year.

Lovely home with every amenity
Our family, which includes three young children and a small dog, enjoyed this home for a week in July 2016. Although we have been vacationing in Chatham for years, we found this location in North Chatham to be ideal in terms of its vicinity to downtown and a variety of beaches and restaurants. The house was so well appointed. The kitchen had everything you could ever need and the washer/dryer, outside shower, and completely fenced in yard were perfect. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived and everything was in good order. The owners were helpful and responsive. We would love to come back!

Family Wedding Weekend
Your house was immaculate, cozy with a spacious private yard. We had a family wedding so children and grandchildren stayed with us. Close to everything especially the Lazy Lobster right across the street. We called in our orders and walked across to pick them up! Delicious. Sorry we didn't have more time to spend. Thank you

Wonderful house with loads of charm. Meticulous detail in every room from comfortable beds to well stocked kitchen. Owners are very responsive and quick to return email or phone calls. Coffee shop and wine shop 5 minute walk. Games, games and more games in the living room closet. All lights on dimmers to set a peaceful mood. Lightning fast Wifi. Huge fenced back yard with well planned deck for entertaining. Very pet friendly. Highly recommend this property.

Spent a Wonderful New Year's in Cape Cod
We had a great time and enjoyed Chatham very much. The house was lovely, warm, and inviting! Very close to beaches, restaurants, and shops in town of Chatham. Our children had a great time as well and felt right at home. We truly enjoyed our time with family and friends and thankful for the opportunity Mr. and Mrs. Grainger provided. They were very responsive and great to work with!

Beautiful Master Suite!
We just returned from a wonderful week staying at this house. It was just perfect for us. The first floor master bedroom suite was amazing - gorgeous wide-panel wood floors, cathedral ceiling with basket-weave wood trim and ceiling fan and the most comfortable four poster queen bed. The master bathroom has a double Kohler deep sink vanity with gorgeous Kohler faucets, a beautiful stone floor shower, and large deep soaking tub. In these separate quarters are ample hall length closets and a stackable washer and dryer. Because this suite can be closed off from the main house, it was perfect for giving our two dogs some quiet time by themselves without them feeling like they were locked in a room alone. These same Kohler fixtures are in the other two bathrooms as well, along with gorgeous high gloss wood marine-like counters (like you would find in a fancy boat) throughout all bathrooms and kitchen. All through the house are beautiful wood floors and lots of windows that really let the light and air come through. The yard was great for our two dogs as well, since it is fully fenced in. While we were staying there we had four days of rain. The garage, with the covered path to the house was perfect for keeping us dry. The day we left we were able to load our car inside of the garage, which was so handy because we had a roof top carrier. If you are staying during the cooler months, you might want to bring some of your favorite cozy blankets with you, as we found the blankets provided to be more suited to summer temperatures. We were pleased to find a Keurig coffee maker along with a regular one in the beautiful, light-filled kitchen. This house is right on Route 28, so there is traffic, but we were not affected by it in the master bedroom suite, which is on the back of the house. The owners were also very responsive by email leading up to our arrival and very nice to deal with. We would highly recommend this home - especially if you are travelling with your dogs. We will definitely be returning next year!
