Lovely mountain home with lots of space, great location, and beautiful views. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Very beautiful home, the extra finishing details were very well done. The master bedroom was inviting and the master bath was exception. However the master toilet was stopped up upon our arrival and the owner was helpful to put us in contact with the property manager Eva. We made three calls to her and it seemed she was more concerned about the deck doors being locked than the stopped up toilet. So basically our entire time there was spent with an inoperable master bathroom. We were promised daily to have someone to come and repair it but nobody was ever sent. With the cost of this property it ended quite disappointing.

Everything about this vacation property was perfect!! Location and mountain views were spectacular! Our property host Eva was very helpful !! The kitchen had everything we needed plus more! Plenty of blankets for our wintery, snowy nights! We even had a few deer visit which made it extra special!! We highly recommend this property for your Banner Elk vacation!!

The house is great. Everything was as advertised. I was able to make a thanksgiving meal for nine adults and two kids using the kitchen and utensils. I am not sure the oven works efficiently. It seemed to take much longer for food to cook than I am used to. But I don’t typically cook with gas. We restocked wood for the fireplace, dishwashing detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, and dish soap. We accidentally left some medication and eggs in the refrigerator. Please throw them away. It would be too expensive to mail the meds which must be refrigerated. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home so we could enjoy great memories together.

We rented this home for a week leading into our daughter’s wedding at the Overlook Barn. The location and home were perfect for our family all staying under one roof. Great experience

We loved it. The views are spectacular! The house is specious and lovely. One word of caution or perhaps a suggestion for the owner - more sink and shower soaps, blankets, towels are needed. Also just a heads up for renters, and maybe this is just a pet peeve, but there is a long list of expectations upon checking out (strip beds, clean dishes, empty dishwasher, so forth and so on). I hate learning about that after I've already booked a place. So consider yourself forewarned. It's not enough of a reason not to book.

Stunning location and exactly the mountain feel we wanted for a fall weekend. However, the pillows were flat as a pancake - we ended up going out to buy extras. The pullout above garage was broken and there were no bath mats so that created a hazard for small children. Also every room came with 2 towels, which wasn’t enough for families traveling with kids. I would advise bringing your own towels and pillows if staying at this property and do not rely on the pullout for additional sleep space!
Oh and most importantly, the keurig coffee maker didn’t work so you’ll have to brew a full pot.

We recently rented Mark's home for a wedding that was being held at the Overlook barn in Banner Elk. The home was absolutely incredible, comfortable and clean. You cannot beat the view from the decks, living room and master bedroom and it was so convenient to get to the wedding! If we ever have another wedding in this area we will absolutely rent again.

We enjoyed our stay in Fox Run so much! The house was exactly as described with amazing views and room for everyone in our large family. Master was private luxurious. The kitchen was nicely stocked for cooking. The owner was responsive to needs with prompt attention and resolution of small issues. We will definitely return to this beautiful mountain home in the future.

House was just right. The clean up crew before us had some issues - laundry left in the washing machine soured over the 2 weeks prior. 3 of the 5 garbage cans in the garage had not been emptied and were full. These two situations contributed to the stale smell in the house. The house manager responded the best that she could. All in all we would love to rent the house again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was so peaceful with the beautiful sound of the flowing stream and million dollar view😍. It was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Boone. Upon arrival, the kitchen had a few crumbs on counters but other than that, our stay was heavenly!

We spent Easter weekend with our daughters and their families at this wonderful home. Plenty of room for everyone! The views are amazing. Location is great and easy to get to. We had 5 adults and 4 children ranging in ages from 4-12. We had a great time!

Great house with amazing views! Perfect for those looking for a place to stay with large kitchen and dinning area.

Beautiful home. Great views and layout.
I was disappointed that they didn’t leave enough towels and linens. We had to wrap blankets over a few pillows because there were not any extra pillow cases. We also had to wash the towels twice a day because there were not enough for our group. It was pretty inconvenient.
However the kitchen was large and had plenty of room. I loved the layout.
P.s. red coffee maker needs to be replaced. It takes over an hour to perk a pot and we are a bunch of coffee drinkers

This was a really great property overall. It is a quaint mountain cabin that easily accommodated 11 adults. The staff were super easy to communicate with and worked with us on some adjustments we had to make.

Our stay in this beautiful home could not have been better. It was the first time in years that our entire family was together, and it was a perfect location for this special occasion. Plenty of room to gather as one, but lots of space when we needed some quiet time. We are a family that likes to cook and eat, and the kitchen was well appointed. We would stay here again!

No issues. I had a VRBO challenge and they contacted me and fixed it. Kept us updated, provided info in plenty of time. Made sure we had numbers and called a few days ahead for any questions we might have.

We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of this home! It was very nice and perfect for our weekend

The property was not very clean. You need to come prepared with your own soap, trash bags, dish soap, etc. and you must and provide your own firewood and matches.
It was advertised as a "multi-million" dollar property... it definitely did not live up to this description.
It was a lot to pay and we expected a much nicer house.

We had, over 5 days 12-13 people there. The location is wonderful, with a great view of Grandfather Mountain and the surrounding area. The house is in a gated neighborhood. Wood fireplace. Big well equipped kitchen (with 2 dishwashers!). Eva is the local representative of the owners and she is VERY responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay there again with a big group.

Awesome view! The house was clean and smelled good.
The room over the garage smelled musty, but usable.
Overall excellent space we thoroughly enjoyed!

Really enjoyed the property. Perfect location near Overlook barn.

Beautiful property with sweeping views of Grandfather Mtn and Banner Elk in valley. Plenty of bedrooms, spacious kitchen/dining area. Can tell home is not lived in or rented often however. From loose tile, leaky ceiling and toilet, broken dishwasher, doors/sinks in need of repair… there were quite a few simple repairs that needed addressing.
Beautiful back porch with breathtaking views, wonderful location very near top of Beech Mtn and a quick drive into Banner Elk as well. Beech Mtn Club temporary membership pass was well worth the access to pool/tennis/pickle ball. Would recommend staying but hopefully repairs will be addressed by homeowner.

This is a lovely home and the view of the mountains was absolutely beautiful. We had 4 couples in our group and the lay out of the home was great as we all had our own bathrooms and were spread out giving each couple privacy. We enjoyed the wild life in the neighborhood including deer, rabbits & foxes. The deer would come into back yard while we were sitting on the back porch and it was great to see them up close. One doe had a fawn with her. The kitchen was well equipped and easily handled a lot of cooks in the kitchen!! The bedding was very comfortable. This was a lovely place to stay and we certainly enjoyed our time in Banner Elk at this property

My family stayed over Thanksgiving 2021. The property has lovely views & is in a convenient location with an easy drive. The neighborhood is quiet, & we enjoyed the sound of the creek that runs down the side of the property. However, our expectations were not met based on the home's listing description. This “designer home” shows quite a bit of vacation home wear and tear & needs updating and maintenance, including:
1. Damage to the living room couches covered w/ armrest covers
2. Office chair that was broken upon our arrival
3. All kitchen appliances in the “gourmet” kitchen need attention, as well as the dirty cookware
4. Right dishwasher barely worked
5. Left dishwasher had broken glass in the bottom that I had to clean out
6. The garbage disposal was full of junk, including a medicine dropper & chopped-up plastic that I also cleaned.
7. The kitchen fridge had a horrid fish smell, so I had to clean it before putting our Thanksgiving food in it & throw away the baking soda used in an attempt to absorb the smell. My cleaning didn’t remove the smell, but at least it was better. While cleaning, I noticed some dings on the fridge door, which were also there before we arrived. However, based on the condition of the other appliances, I considered it normal wear and tear.
8. The “gourmet” oven is large and impressive, but it’s probably original to the house and needs a deep cleaning on the inside and the storage compartment. We used it to cook all of our meals. The oven light was broken, the temperature was off, & our food took much longer than usual to cook.
9. The exterior door handle on the over garage apartment was quite loose and could easily be broken. I’m surprised a property manager would leave it that way.
10. There are a couple of damaged spots in the carpet in the lower level living space that were covered up by throw rugs.
11. The foosball table had a damaged handle that we were not aware of, & my daughter sliced her finger on the metal part while playing.
12. The bedroom on the lower level behind the fireplace wall smelled very musty.
I don’t expect perfection because I understand that these homes see a lot of visitors. But, I feel obliged to share the wear and tear with other future renters in case the owner also tries to file a damage insurance claim against you TWO months after your stay for damage that already existed prior to arrival. I suggest prudence in documenting everything you see upon arrival & departure.

This house is being listed as being accessible in the winter without 4 wheel drive. This is not true, the driveway is level but the road leading to it is a mountain road that sometimes requires chains and 4 wheel drive. The roads were fine for us but the driveway and walk ways were a complete icy snowy mess. We had to get our own salt and almost got vehicles stuck (one had all wheel drive). The house and views were gorgeous. I would use this house again but not in the winter

This is a very unique property, you can tell it was built and maintained with detail and thought. The view is phenomenal from all parts of the home. Location can’t get much better being on Beech and very close to downtown Banner Elk. Fit four couples and two kids per couple very comfortably. Would stay again!
