Went for a wedding at Black Star Farms. Perfect location for tons of activities. As for the the accommodations, they couldn't have been any more perfect. The amenities available to you are overwhelming. We where greeted as we showed up and everything from there was flawless. We also loved that they allowed our dogs. Our family is definitely looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

I was staying at the house for a family reunion, was not there much. It was very clean. The bidet was not used but made noises @ various times. Kind of a nuisance. Otherwise it was what I needed.

Jim and Carol Lynn were excellent with communication and extremely welcoming. It’s in a great location centrally located to towns, lakes, and beaches nearby. I especially enjoyed the comfortable bed, coffee, and nature inspired artwork.

Thank you Jim and Carol Ann! We have been going to this area (Traverse City) for 6 years now, this was the best rental we stayed in. Quiet, comfortable just like home, easy access to restaurants and things to do. The owners were there when we arrived and explained everything to us to make our stay enjoyable. There was a cherry pie and ice cream waiting for us when we arrived. The beds were very comfortable. Well stocked frig. No complaints what so ever! We will be staying here again!

We rented the house for the last week of June. My 2 toddlers and partner has a wonderful time. Comfortable beds, some books and toys for the kidos. Everything you need to cook meals for the family. My son named it "The Sand House" during the trip probably because of our daily visits to Sleeping Bear National Lake shore. Highly recommend for a lovely vacation rental.

Very clean and comfortable, many unexpected amenities and the location was perfect for visiting all the wineries and towns. The property owners were there to meet us & give instructions and advice on what to see in the area. We will be back!!

The place was very clean, quiet and well equipped with what we needed. The kitchen was well equipped with good appliances. We liked it was in a small community but close to all the town you want to see around Lake Michigan. The host made sure he provided us with all the amenities needed like air conditioning smart TV, address to local and nearby restaurants and shops. We really liked it and felt at home. Our pets also enjoyed it and slept well through night since it was very quiet. We thank the host and like to come back in future.

This was a wonderful experience. Jim and Carol provided so many nice touches such as their extensive reading library and informational literature regarding the local area. Everything needed for a fun and relaxing experience was provided including an excellent audio/video entertainment center, and fully equipped kitchen. Our stay was a very nice experience for my wife and myself.

This house was the best supplied of all the houses I have rented. We didn’t need anything but food. Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful area. Wonderfully supplied kitchen, comfortable beds. I would come back.

Very comfortable home with everything you would need and more. We have always stayed in hotels but found this to be more comfortable, relaxing. We were there for a wedding. After the owner greeted us and a quick show of the home he told us to call him if we needed anything and we didn't. I don't expect to be back to that area but if I was this is where I would want to stay.

This is a great place to stay. Great location, close to all that Leelenau has to offer, clean, easy to relax and enjoy your stay here. Jim was friendly, easy going and made us feel welcome. We made ourselves at home. Looking forward to coming back!

This home was absolutely perfect for three girlfriends to get away for a week. Large bedrooms and a very nice living room (which we didn't use, because it was too nice to be indoors). The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of extras which made for easy dining on the patio for all meals. The location of this home also makes it easy to get to the various vineyards and towns of Leeland, Northport, and Suttons Bay as well as access to the many hiking trails of Sleeping Bear. If you want to walk, there is a convenient grocery store in town as well as a few wineries and a distillery. Although only one bathroom, there was plenty of hot water even for the last one of us to shower in the morning. Two -- yes I said two refrigerators! Plus laundry facilities -- no dirty clothes to wash when you get back home. We will most definitely be back next year!

The property is indeed centrally located in the Leelanau Peninsula, making it a short distance to visit any of the areas around it (Leland to the west, Suttons Bay to the east, and farm country to the north). A short drive to any coast is required, as there is no lake access or view from the property. To note, the property is occupied by the owners in the wintertime, and this is evident, as there are lots of tchotchkes out (which is why I designate "great for adults" in the title - little hands would have a field day in this place). Foodstuff was also occupying some space in the kitchen (which we were invited to use if needed). We could also detect the faint smell of pets (we live with two cats at home so this did not bother us, but thought it important to mention here). Bonus to this property is that there are two refrigerators; perfect for us who travel with lots of canned beverages for easy grab-and-go access for the beach. Also, lots of hooks for clothes/towels - something I wish more property owners would invest in. Jim is pleasant and very easy to get in touch with, as he stays in close proximity to the home during the summer. One more detail about this property is that there is a renter in the basement, who we did not hear nor see during this trip. At first, the thought creeped me out, but I went along with it, and did not hear nor see the renter below us. They have a separate entrance and driveway, so really, there is absolutely no contact with this person. All-in-all, this property worked well for us and enhanced our visit to the Leelanau Peninsula!

I found the owners very nice and welcoming. The house was very clean and well furnished. The kitchen had everything I needed and more. Very great experience. Would highly recommend.
