Property was just as shown in listing and just as beautiful. Christian (owner) met us and took us to apartment, spending time to show us how to run everything and telling us good places to eat and shop. He lives near by and checked on us with emails to see if we needed anything. Very pleased!

Immediately comfortable and at home in this apartment with less than a 1 minute walk to aquamarine waters of Orient Bay. The location of the place was perfect, steps away from white sand. If you are looking for a place with a welcoming local feel, near by cafes, restaurants and groceries this is your place to stay. Hosts couldn’t have been nicer, we were met on-time upon arrival and departure. Many thanks from Edouard and Lacey

I would like to start by saying that if vrbo allowed I would love to post some actual photos of the property.
Prior to renting the unit I was assured by the property manager that the unit had " pool view and was at the beach and near bar and restaurants"
Besides the pictures from the actual unit nothing else about the was accurate. I was absolutely lied to . The location is isolated, located in a hill, what used to be a reception is dark and abandoned, there is a small market that you can probably buy water and soft drinks if open, and a pizza place next to it that was actually closed. The pool is a concrete hole, you can see the beach but the unit is not at the beach with no chairs or umbrella and if you choose to stay you would have to carry umbrellas and chairs down and come up the hill afterwards. To get back to the reception you need to walk up a hill with stairs for about 3 to 5 minutes depending how fast you walk. The beach is deserted, there is not even a stand located in the area the complex is at. The property manager told me she would give me the number of a taxi and I could go to the village every morning and come back at night. The description of this property is a pure lie. I stayed there for 30 minutes and left to a hotel. The taxi to pick me up was 25 minutes wait, this is how long you will need to wait for a taxi in this property. I asked for my money back and all the property manager said was sorry , she could not refund my money. I contacted vrbo and received no assistance either. The last agent I spoke with said he tried to contact the property manager 5 times while i was on hold and she never answered the phone PLEASE DO NOT RENT AT THIS LOCATION. YOUR VACATION WILL BE RUINED AND YOU WILL SPEND 4 X THE MONEY TO STAY IN A HOTEL. PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

This unit has a nice view looking down Orient Bay. The region is still recovering and rebuilding from the 2017 Hurricane. My wife and I enjoyed the condo/ view and location. We would definitely go back and rent again. Chantel was nice and helpful as the property manager.

The property is still dealing with past Irma issues like no pool and some outside lighting issues but was a great place to stay and our hosts were very helpful and accommodating!

Stunning View
The Host was very friendly, and extremely fast in responding to correspondence. The view is wonderful, and the unit has been well renovated in the recent past. As noted with other reviews, the area around still needs much repair from the storm.
There are great beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler for use on the beach, which were great to have.
Only cons was the lack of a dishwasher (Not a problem if you don't cook), the the AC system was not the strongest.

Condo as advertised, very nice!
The condo is very nice, looks exactly like pictures. Situated nicely in complex, easy walk to pool and beach. Beautiful views from balcony. Bed is very comfortable, good wifi access too. Kitchen has everything you need. You can walk along beach right into Orient village for some great baguettes and pastry, restaurants and groceries. The only thing I would add to condo is a step stool for reaching upper cabinets easier. Owners are very kind and helpful. I would definitely go back.

Fabulous week !!
Irene and I had a 7 night stay and give this studio room " Two Thumbs Up"! The room was just as advertised and the view from the balcony was spectacular. We visited several other beaches while we were on St Martin but Orient was our favorite - so convenient to just walk right out the door and a few steps later be on the beach. Chantal and Christian we great hosts - Christian patiently waited for use even thought our flight was ~ 1 hr late and Chantal shared a wealth of information concerning other beaches and activities. We will definitely be back again!!

We had a great time in this little hideaway. The sounds of the surf and fabulous view from the balcony are perfect. We could walk to the beach barefoot from the apartment. Had a great view of the beach and pool. Can't wait to come back for the third year in a row.

Beautiful Studio on Orient Beach
My wife and I just returned from an 11 night stay at this studio. The unit was exactly as described. The views were fabulous from the balcony. The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to have the extras like the beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and ice packs. The pool was recently renovated and was awesome. It was a refreshing stop after a day on the beach. Chantal and Christian kept in contact with us in the weeks preceding our stay to make sure our needs were met. We would certainly stay here again and would (and have) recommend his studio to friends.

Beautiful views, very nice hosts!
Just returned home after an amazing vacation staying in this rental. The views from the balcony were amazing and it was the perfect home base for our trip. We came on a kiteboarding vacation and were able to kite off of the properties beach. The pool looked beautiful and it overlooks the ocean..(we never actually used the pool lol to busy with other adventures!) Yes the parking lot is not right outside the rental but it is only a short walk and adds to the charm. The parking lot is safe and there are cameras. Yes part of the road has many potholes but we were able to easily navigate with our little toyota rental. The unit has everything you need, beach chairs, umbrellas, bags for grocery shopping, kitchenware, hair dryer ect. Chantel even had two welcome beers and some lovely handmade soap as a welcoming present. She was very helpful and gave us lots of suggestions on places to go. This was a perfect peaceful place to stay and relax after our daily adventures exploring the island. I would highly recommend renting from them.

My wife and I stayed for a week in January and it was superb. Loved the view and the unit could not have been nicer. More people at Mont Vernon greeted us with bonjour rather than hello! The location was great and Chantal and Christian could not have been more helpful. We highly recommend renting from them and hope to come back again.

Not Too Good to be True - Reviews are Accurate!
Just arrived home from a week-long stay in Chantal & Christian's Unit 2 studio condo, which is actually on the 3rd floor of the building with a gorgeous balcony view of all of Orient Beach. The listing description and other reviewers' descriptions are completely accurate. Rest assured, what you read, see & hear is what you are going to get!
Prior to our arrival we communicated with Chantal via email. She was extremely responsive, helpful & kind. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Christian who helped us to the condo and then gave a fantastic informational overview of everything we needed to know about the condo, property, Orient Beach and the local town. They have also prepared a wonderful binder of information for their guests, and we used it frequently. Chantal & Christian were both very easy to work with from my initial inquiry about the rental to check-out.
As for the amenities of the condo, it has everything you need. We especially appreciated the cooler and ice packs. We used it to bring beer to the beach. There are 2 chairs & an umbrella in the condo for your use as well. We used the washer once. They provide laundry detergent. They also provide dish soap, paper towels & toilet paper; however, there was only one paper towel roll & one toilet paper roll, and by day 4 we had run out of both. This isn't meant to be negative, but rather to prepare you. There is a small store on the property that sells these items, but they weren't open when we needed them, nor were the local supermarkets. I would just recommend that if you only see one roll of t.p. when you arrive, it's probably a good idea to purchase another from the store well before you run out. Also, you'll want to bring all of your own toiletries, including soap, or buy them as soon as you arrive, as those are not included.
The property itself is nice. It's the former Mont Vernon Hotel, which is no longer a hotel but still referred to as Mont Vernon. It consists of both residents & guests. Don't be alarmed - the reception area is completely deserted, and it looks a little creepy, but there is 24-hour security with guards who are always there. Even though the outside of the buildings are older looking & could use some repair, the grounds are well-kept, and the pool is large & very clean. There was a man thoroughly cleaning it every morning. It was actually more refreshing for us to swim in the pool than Orient Beach. I definitely recommend this rental!

Friends from the dessert ...Arizona
We have stayed at Mt Vernon 5 times now and by far this was the best apt.
We were very happy with the service and all amenities. The apt was very well equipped as far as kitchen supplies for eating in. Also they had beach equipment, which was great.
The owners were super helpful and easy to communicate to. We hope to be back again next year. The property is wonderful ...... We keep coming back.

Never wanted to leave
This is really a fabulous little apartment with every amenity including ones you haven't yet realized you want. For example, not only is a cooler provided for you to take when you go to the beach, there are also little ice packs in the freezer ready to go. The studio is in a resort that I imagine was a happening place in the 1960s but has now been converted into condos owned primarily by French nationals (practice your "bonjours") and everyone is friendly and quiet. The view is gorgeous and you can hear the ocean even with the air conditioning on. You can also feed the adorable donkeys that live nearby too - carrots and stale bread very welcome (I spoke to the owner personally). We loved the guide booklet Chantal and Christian made and referred to it extensively during our vacation. You'll definitely want to rent a car.

Wonderful getaway!
My significant other and I spent a wonderful week in this lovely studio. The studio has a great location and a beautiful view. It is very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We loved the peacefulness! I enjoyed being able to take a long beach walk each day. I've never been in nicer water--clear and clean, perfect temperature, nice waves, and a sandy bottom. We enjoyed walking down the beach each day in the afternoon to get a pina colada! There are excellent restaurants nearby, and my dietary needs could be accommodated at many (I have celiac disease, and follow a strict gluten-free diet). We do recommend renting a car for this location. The owners, Chantal and Christian, are very friendly and attentive, and helped us with everything. We wished that we could have stayed longer! The only caveat: the complex is located on a hill, and there is quite a bit of uphill and downhill walking to get to the parking lot and to the beach. There aren't too many stairs, but the paths are sloping. So I would not recommend this for anyone who has difficulty climbing up and down.

Perfect couple's getaway
As many times and places we have stayed on the island, none matched the view from the balcony of this beautiful studio. At sunrise and sunset we spent many hours just unwinding there. We really enjoyed how well equipped the kitchen was and the cleanliness of the entire studio. We took advantage of the sparkling pool and the direct access to Orient beach and many evenings walked the beach to enjoy dinner at the nearby restaurants. On top of all of that you will not meet friendlier more helpful owners.

Beautiful studio
We had the good fortune of finding this lovely gem on Orient Beach. The owners are so fantastic and take care of you right from the very first communication. I believe we had the best view/location on the entire French side of the island!!! The grounds and pool was beautifully maintained and the property was safe. Security was very visible and always friendly and willing to help. C and C, we will be back!!!
