About this cabin rental

Nestled in Lake Vermilion, this attractive cabin for $397 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. It's perfect for a family vacation, for a group of fishermen, or for retired grandparents who'd like to introduce their grandkids to the wonder of Lake Vermilion. Our 48Mbps internet allows a mix of work and play. Our guest boat lift has been upgraded to 3600 lbs. A 2nd boat up to 22ft long can be moored at the adjacent dock. Both docks have 120v power and an overhead light. With 290 feet of frontage, you'll have quite a bit of lakeshore all to yourselves. We've left 40 feet of woods undisturbed on each side to provide privacy. The Guest Cabin is set back 120 feet with ample open space shaded by mature trees for your campfire, lawn games or lawn chair in the shade. The gentle slope to the lake makes the walk easy for youngsters and retired folks (like us!). The 800 sq. foot cabin has two large bedrooms. One bedroom has two twin beds and one has a queen and a twin, bringing the sleeping capacity to 4 or 5 persons. The entire cabin -- inside and out -- has been renovated over the last two years. When you visit this summer, you'll find a new exterior, bath fixtures, and kitchen appliances. Plus, we've added a clothes washer/dryer, a dishwasher, a larger boat lift, and air conditioning -- the items most requested by our guests. Lake Vermilion is one of Minnesota’s largest and most beautiful lakes. Its 365 islands, countless bays and points, and hundreds of miles of shoreline are waiting to be explored. Our NW facing property allows you to experience its spectacular sunsets from your private dock. Excellent walleye fishing right off the dock through early June. Several smallmouth bass reside under the dock all year. Easy for kids to catch and release. We live on the property year round in a log home you may see in some of the pictures. We are available 24 hours a day to attend to your needs, answer any questions you might have, or to fix anything that might go wrong. I have stayed at a number of cabins in the Virginia/Ely area; some good, some bad. This cabin was by far the nicest we have stayed at in a very long time. The cabin was bright and new, and beyond clean. To my surprise the cabin was well stocked with anything you might need, plus a washer and dryer. Highly recommend this cabin.

I took my 3 kids (7, 10, 17) to this cabin for the MEA long weekend and we had an amazing time exploring the land around the cabin along with the Tower/Sudan/Ely area. Jeff and Kathy were excellent hosts-- welcomed us to the cabin, made sure we had everything we needed, brought us delicious cookies, and provided great recommendations for places to check out in the area. The cabin and land around the cabin are wonderful. The pictures don't capture the coziness and pristine condition the cabin is in. I have rented many places and this was by far the most thoughtful, detailed, clean accommodations. The kitchen is stocked well for full cooking/baking, the bedding is comfortable, and the grounds/dock area is very well maintained. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

The property is well kept, nicely organized and stocked. Everything is well maintained! Beautiful view looking out to daisy bay, the wildlife is very active in that area. The boat lift/dock makes this perfect for fishing lake vermillion. 1 in and 1 out. Will book again!

Having been born and raised in the area, driving into the birch point property felt like coming home. Jeff and Kathy’s greeting upon arrival only endeared the property more. As I told my children, I found the little cabin on the lake I’d been looking for.

Wow! What a great experience staying with Jeff and Cathy. They were amazing hosts and they have a great property. Everything we needed they supplied. Cabin was super clean, spacious and comfortable. Boat lift worked out well. Loved that the property had a grill and a fish cleaning station. I would highly recommend.

This is a wonderfully clean cabin equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts have thought of everything. Beds were all quite comfortable, and the whole cabin was roomy enough for four adults to not feel cramped. The hosts were very attentive and made us feel right at home. We had our own dock with a boat lift which was an appreciated perk.

It's a Winner!

The cabin was great. Very clean and well stocked with the daily items we needed. It was close to the lake with a very easy walk to get there. The boat lift was great to use especially with the strong winds that were present when we were there. Best of all, the owners were so friendly and willing to accommodate us in any way they could. We will go again!

Great place to stay on Vermilion!

Jeff and Kathy were great hosts for our fishing trip on Vermilion. Their cabin has been remodeled and is very modern and clean with a nice gradual walk down to the dock. It has all the modern conveniences including a gas grill. The boat lift on the dock was a great added feature with no worry about the wind if it comes up. Kathy even brought over a banana bread that was fantastic. Highly recommend and will be coming back on a future fishing trip.

Our time at the cabin was absolutely wonderful. The cabin was cozy and very well maintained. It had all of the immenities we could have wanted. The location, yard and access to Lake Vermillion couldn't have been better. And the hosts were perfect. Thank you for a wonderful time, we look forward to staying here again.
