Located in Lago Vista, this charming house for $5,131 per night is a great option for your next vacation. This spectacular gated estate perched on Lake Travis transcends the Hill Country near Lago Vist…whisking you off to a stately chateau in the heart of France. The column-flanked, tree-lined approach to the classic circular drive sets the stage for the grand entrance. See LINK for additional pictures at the bottom of our web site. This 10 bedroom, 11 remodeled bathroom home sits on 12.6 acres with 800 feet of water front. Celebrating the natural stone of both Texas and France, the exterior and interior of the home features detailed stonework custom carved onsite by a French sculptor. Grand columns with custom Corinthian capitals, traditional stone balustrades and two-story waterfall adorn the entrance. Indoors, the waterfall continues as it enhances the formal living with the same waterfall ambiance, a step over river, and special lighting for the evenings. Entry grandeur is continued inside the house with the formal sunken living area with remarkable lake views. Enjoy listening to the piano played as you are cozy by the large stone fireplace. An adjacent full service wet bar is perfectly located for service to the north-east outdoor terrace. There are many covered terraces. Ideal for relaxing evenings of dinner and indulging wine or retreating from the Texas sunlight, these terraces capture the best breezes and views, year-round. Heaters are provided in cooler weather. Back indoors a formal dining room has amble space for a large gathering with the kitchen seating adjacent. It’s a perfect place to linger over a meal with friends. Across the living room lies a study/office including a computer station and printer. The fully stocked kitchen is fit for a chef and includes a Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer. The spacious island holds an extra-large sink; an additional sink, high-end appliances and a huge walk-in pantry. An open breakfast bar allows the cook to chat with family at the adjacent breakfast room. There are also several grills right outside the kitchen. Retreat in luxury to the airy master bedroom, which enjoys lake views from the private terrace and every window. In the master bath there are two vanities plus a separate makeup counter allow room to spread out. A glass wall encloses the oversized shower with 10 separate shower heads including an overhead rain can. Linger in the corner jetted tub overlooking the vista, or splash in the walk-in travertine shower. There is a queen sleeper sofa as well. In addition to the master, there are 2 other large bedrooms with private baths and balconies upstairs. Downstairs below, an additional king bedroom is closest to the main living areas. Further down the hallway, the lower level south wing accommodates four additional bedrooms, a billiards room, a full kitchen, family room with TV and exercise room. Two large bedrooms with walk-in closets and en-suite baths complete the second floor south wing. Over the garage, the guest house provides another two bedrooms each with two queen beds, a full bath, kitchen and living room. There is a full sleeper sofa and TV in the living room. All baths are stocked with toiletries. While the inside is stunning, this home was designed to enjoy the extraordinary scenery outdoors. With sun decks and a crow’s nest balcony from the roof there is always a place to relax and feel the breeze. The expansive manicured lawns are accented with gracious walkways and beautiful lighting leading down to the negative-edge pool and spa. With the appearance of spilling in to Lake Travis, the pool is a breathtaking finale to the grounds. There are many seating areas and umbrellas to accommodate. The newly added large spa grotto below provides another space to relax and enjoy the scenery. There is also a firepit and separate seating area with palapa to enjoy lake views. A few feet away is the entrance to the dock. There are 4 paddleboards and 4 kayaks for guest use along with plenty of lifejackets. Guest can arrange to have a boat delivered to the dock or choose to park your own. For the sports minded, in addition to our billiard and foosball tables, enjoy our 1/2 court basketball court and Ping-Pong table. Guest enjoy playing yard games on the expansive back lawn and there is ample room on our helipad to create a memorable pickleball challenge as well! We are here to accommodate you and offer concierge-like service to our guests! If you need something just ask. This estate offers breathtaking views with amenities that you will fall in love with. Wish we had more time to spend here. We will definitely come back if the owner will have us. She was always helpful and quick to respond. This was a five star rental for sure.

We had 24 people for our Thanksgiving gathering. This house was perfect with multiple living areas and the 3 kitchens made the meal prep much easier. Everybody from old to young loved the property. Kassy was very helpful and responsive. We hope to book again in the future.

This place was indescribable! Way better than the pictures. Breathtaking! Everything was immaculate! Plenty of supplies-kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies etc. It is a great place for a large group. Lots of places to be together inside and out. Also plenty of space and areas if you want moments alone. Highly recommend.

We have been staying here for 4 years and have absolutely loved it. Everything is always extremely clean, furnishings are excellent, pool and lake are amazing. It is perfect for a large family get together and you feel like you have your own private getaway. Kassy is an exceptional host and is always available to make sure your stay is perfect.

Escondido Chateau is literally the best! This is our second time renting the home and it was better than the first! Working with Kassy, the property manager is amazing, she is kind and helpful and everything you would hope for in a manager.
Everything is clean, well stocked, accommodates, a huge crowd, we had 10 adults and 21 kids under are 17. The kids were crying when they had to leave. It was so great! There is a reason why this house has five stars. It deserves every star!

We had an incredible stay at this property. The house is amazing. There were 20 of us and still the house almost felt too big! We loved lounging by the pool taking in the amazing views. Kassy was amazing to work with and helped with our planning, stocking the fridge, etc. The only caveat - it's a bit further from downtown Austin and more remote than I had thought, so if we could do it again (and we might), we likely wouldn't leave!

We had our yearly family gathering of 10 adults and 10 children at Escondido Chateau. Kassy, the property manager, went out of her way to make our trip a perfect celebration of family! Diego kept the grounds in beautiful condition. Highly recommend and hope to return!

Whew! There are no words to describe or explain our experience staying at this property. Everything was beautiful! The house, the grounds, the pool & spa and the view was breathtaking! We had an amazing time! Kassy was amazing…..a joy to work with, very professional and friendly!

A perfect venue for a family reunion. Everyone loved the house and property. Gorgeous sunrises. Outside patio with heaters. Many many outside seating areas. Many areas in the house for small group visits. Very comfortable bedrooms/beds, Dining Set up, Pool , Hot tubs, Fire pit, ping pong table, pool table, piano, basketball court, huge yard for football, jump rope and family olympics. Family used the paddle boards and kayaks. We enjoyed it all! The hill country view is gorgeous! The house is very clean and organized.
The property manager Kassy is over the top helpful and responsive. We used her Bay Street catering recommendation for dinner and lunch and the family loved it. The family enjoyed the pizza and salad at Flat Creek Winery.
The chef prepared grilled salmon by Chef Jay was out of this world. She also recommended Blue Corn Harvest which delivered delicious fajitas to the property.
I would highly recommend this property.

Every amenity afforded us ease in preparing our daily themed menus. The layout of multiple living spaces was just right for meeting everyone’s needs. Kassy was the best manager of all of our past vacation homes . We have already booked a return in the summer to enjoy all this beautiful chateau has to offer!!

We rented this property for a small wedding for my son and his fiance. We had 15 adults and 3 young kids. The property is absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed. Amazing views! Beautiful property for family gatherings
We loved the house size and layout, outdoor areas and the amenities. It was a perfect setting for our family gathering. The outdoor areas were set-up with chairs and offered beautiful views of the lake. The property manager was very helpful with any questions and responsive to our needs. The house was well stocked and exceeded our expectations in many ways. We look forward to booking here again.

Absolutely amazing experience
From start to finish our experience at Escondido Chateau was incredible. Kassy the property manager was attentive and responsive from the moment I made the reservation until after we checked out. She made sure the house was pristine and ready to go for our group upon check-in and she also gave me tons of suggestions regarding food and activities in the area. The property itself is unbelievable. We didn't have great weather during our stay but even then the views are gorgeous and the property and house are immaculate. I couldn't be happier with this experience and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Kassy and Escondido Chateau!
