“Owl’s Haven” -a restful aerie looking towards Big Sheep cliff & Whiteside Mts!
About this house rental
Situated in Cashiers, this lovely house for $669 per night is a great choice for your next break. Turn off the highway and gently wind through the woods a quarter mile to our hilltop home. For over 50 years, our family and friends have enjoyed the peaceful natural beauty of our nearly 40 acres of wooded land, pond, waterfall and stream all connected by pathways. From our home, one only needs to look out towards the north to find Big and Little Sheep Cliff Mountains and to the west to see Whiteside Mt. On the land there are dogwoods, rhododendrons, maples and pine that line our two acres of front lawn and gardens. This is an ever-changing seasonal vista that appeals to one, two or even three families at a time due to the spacious layout with two master suites at each end. Not only ideal for large gatherings like family reunions and weddings, but also great for a couple of families who want to ski, golf, fish, climb trails or raft at nearby resorts. Dogs have their own fenced in area and are always welcome! Two bedrooms are handicap accessible.

Beautiful property-it’s tucked away and so peaceful. Spacious home. Great location! Our family spent Thanksgiving in Cashiers and this home was perfect for us. My brother loved being able to walk the trails with his dog.

Love the acreage, sprawling rancher with lots of room to breathe. Bathrooms nicely remodeled. Great property for dogs. Nice trails & driveway for daily walks.

A record-setting hard freeze at Christmas meant that the house, along with many others in the Cashiers community, had no water. We and the owner did not realize this until after we arrived. Other than this major inconvenience, our stay was fantastic. Great location (isolated, yet 5 minutes from Ingles supermarket). Setting is wooded with large grassy area for outside play, and view of basalt massif. Floor plan--two wings widely separated by large common areas-was ideal for our multi-generational (ages ranged from 1 year to 78) reunion. Kitchen is small, adequately equipped, with limited counter space. Need a quick guide to operate chef-grade stove.

This property has 30+ Acres of land, with a fantastic view of a mountain for your morning coffee. The property is dog friendly, which makes it a rare find in Cashiers. The house itself is a touch out-dated, with numerous antiques that are often more beautiful than comfortable. The owner is very responsive, and was helpful in resolving some plumbing matters that arose during our stay. With a little investment in just a few key pieces of furniture and carpeting, this would be one of the premier properties in Cashiers. However, those are minor items compared to the beauty of the land, the fabulous location adjacent to the Kroger shopping center (though you would never even know it existed due to the size of the land), and ease of communication with the owner.

We had a beautiful and peaceful Thanksgiving week at Owl's Nest with family. We enjoyed the privacy and the sense of being alone in the mountains. The property is amazingly located next door to the grocery, but you cannot hear a thing other than nature. Helen is the most gracious hostess and is quick to respond. She even decorated the house for our family gathering. We hope to return when possible!
