This 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom 1940s beach cottage is right on the shore, offering stunning ocean views and an excellent location right near the heart of town. With tons of amenities both indoors and out, this home has it all for a perfect beach vacation! Stroll up to the home and you'll take note of the lush landscaping, welcoming you to your beachy getaway. Up the stairs, the main area of the home, you'll be greeted by the spacious kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped, giving you the ability to whip up your own fresh fruit and sandwiches to take along to the beach, or even a full-blown family dinner with the double ovens—there's also two refrigerators! The appliances are high quality, and there is a convenient moveable island with a cutting board for extra prep space. Coffee lovers will rejoice, as there is a Keurig Coffee maker as well as a Mr. Coffee drip style coffee maker. The counter seating in the kitchen offers seats for four, while a kitchen table offers seating for five. Continue onward, and you'll pass a plush seating area with two sofas on your way to the living area. The living area is generously sized, with two separate sitting areas and an additional dining table seats six. One side of the living area is furnished with cushy sofas and a coffee table, while the other side has the same sofas, a chair, coffee table, and flat-screen TV with cable and a DVD player—there's also free Wi-Fi in the house! Three ceiling fans keep the area cool, and wide windows look out to the grassy yard and the Atlantic. The three bedrooms each have their own layout and are furnished conveniently for big trips with family and friends. The first bedroom offers a king-sized bed as well as a bunk-bed—kids will love taking over this room for a sleepover! The next room offers a king-sized bed with an ensuite bathroom, the third has a king-sized bed with walk-in shower and bathroom (including the washer and dryer), while the fourth has a double bed. All rooms have TVs, giving this home a nice perk! Outside you'll find an upper deck where you can lounge in outdoor furniture and enjoy the view. There is a BBQ grill downstairs, as well as an outdoor shower. The beach is just a walk away, and you have your own sandy path to take there! This property also includes a $250 credit to order beach gear when you book a stay between 3 and 14 nights!! There are many options to choose from including bicycles, beach chairs, beach carts/wagons, coolers, umbrellas, kayaks, paddleboards, etc.! Our partnered company, VayK Gear, will contact you 45 days prior to your arrival so you can place your order and they will deliver all equipment to your rental property. Just another added bonus for booking through Carroll Realty to enhance your vacation experience. A few important notes to be aware: NO HOUSE PARTIES. NO SMOKING. NO PETS. No exceptions! There is a very strict noise ordinance policy on the island that goes into effect at 10pm on weeknights and 11pm on weekend nights. The 4 car limit is also strictly enforced. This house is a family rental and is located near year-round residents. This is not a rental home for bachelor/bachelorette events, wedding groups, youth groups, fraternities/sororities, receptions, or any other types of larger gatherings. We do NOT rent to students or anyone under the age of 25 - no exceptions - even if a parent or legally responsible adult makes the reservation. If such a group occupies or attempts to occupy the property, they will be required to immediately vacate and there will be NO refunds given. Further, this home is strictly a non-pet friendly home. Guest will be fined $1000 if a pet is found to be on the property at any time. ALL BED LINENS, KITCHEN TOWELS, AND BATH TOWEL SETS ARE PROVIDED FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE!! You will only need to bring or plan to rent beach towels, chairs, bikes, umbrellas, etc. Also included is a "starter set" of toiletries such as toilet paper, bath & dish soaps, paper towels, etc. but please do keep in mind you will most likely need to purchase these items after your initial arrival.

My husband and I and our three college age sons thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. It would be spacious enough for more than one family with several sitting areas and a large dining area. It is indeed a 40s cottage and that is part of its charm. I do want to explain the beachfront part, as that was something I did not understand. The land is beachfront and when you are on the deck you can see and hear the ocean over the trees and foliage. You cannot see the beach nor can you walk through the property to the beach- or at least you couldn’t when we were there after days of rain when there was a small lake in the backyard. However if you walk along the (not busy) road three or four houses in either direction there is public beach access by a long boardwalk. I would heartily recommend this property.

This cottage was amazing. It has so much charm and space. Check in and out was a breeze. Location is perfect. Around the corner from a grocery store and shops. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

AC didn’t work first two days. AC company was awesome. They were responsive and went over and above. House still overall hot. Grass was never cut and damp, wet conditions made for a mosquito infestation. House/dishes not the most clean.

I think for what we paid, the owner needs major updates. The kitchen cabinets were all sticky and the oven and range look like the 1970’s. There was mold around some of the windows and the stairway leading up to the house needs a handrail.

The house was very comfortable and clean! We did not have any problems. The location is great with a short walk to the beach. The stair entry into the home is not as appealing as the rest of the home. This surprised me because the entry is not shown in the photos. However, once we were inside the main home, it was not an issue at all. The openness of the home and the back porch proved to be perfect for visiting with family and friends. I would stay here again.

Relaxing and clean!
The house was very comfortable and clean! We did not have any problems. The location is great with a short walk to the beach. If you don’t need a mansion, just a solid spacious house with plenty of room , and unbelievable beach access… consider this place. Its not 5 diamond… but it is 5 star if you’re not a sour sally that finds problems just to find them.
Everything was clean, no weird smells, beds were firm mattresses, but not uncomfortable. We all slept well. The pillows were like huggable clouds.
This place has a million lamps. I thought it was weird at first but you can really
dial in the perfect amount of light if you play with it for a minute.
No ice maker in the fridge, but had a bunch of ice trays. You can cycle through pretty hard and never run out of ice if your good about refilling them.
If you open the back windows, you can hear the waves over the dunes. There’s a giant back yard for games and little kids to run around.
You can walk to the restaurants, grocery, etc in about 15 minutes on a nice day or drive it in a couple and be back before you know it.
Didn’t use the TVs, too busy doing beach and island things. And if you want to go to down town Charleston, it’s a pretty easy drive of about 20-ish minutes. For such an out of the way place it’s pretty convenient. Anyways , we had a great time!

Regardless of the cool temperature outside, the porch was always sunny and beautiful. Hearing the waves crashing on the beach just yards away, the relaxation was on point. The waves were just big enough for our 16 year old to teach herself to surf and the sand hugged our aching bodies and made us forget the real world for the week. Just what we needed. Ages with us started at 16 and went all the way to 96. Beautiful memories made this week 💖

This property what not up to what we expected. This pictures made the property appear to be much fresher that is was The property what extremely dated. Bath rooms small and repairs to the tubs looked like bubble gum caulking. without question not worth the rental price. Would not rent again.

You can't beat the price for a beachfront cottage on IOP. The kitchen is perfectly functional, but could use some updating. The front room and front porch have beautiful ocean views. It was really nice having a double oven and two refrigerators for all of the cooking/food Thanksgiving entails. The house is in an ideal location, and access to the beach is easy. The realty office was quick to respond to our questions and concerns. We would absolutely return especially knowing now the quirks of the house.

The house is a cute in a great location and we loved that it was right on the beach but it unfortunately was a disappointment. Much of the furniture smells like smoke despite all the distasteful no Smoking stickers. Also, the bathrooms were unkept and could use a nice bleach down. There was also a lot of mismanagement when we had a delivery prior to our arrival with the office. All the locks could also be replaced, we had a very hard keeping doors locked and feeling safe in the evening. The photos are inaccurate portrayal of the house but it has it potential.

Wonderful Getaway Vacation Home
This freshly renovated oceanfront cottage is a fantastic place to get away from it all and enjoy the beach! It's private and quiet but close enough to restaurants and downtown so it's great for walking. The decor in the house is charming, cheerful and full of color -- we enjoyed looking at all of the artwork and decorations in every room. The living room that overlooks the back porch is filled with light -- a great place to spend time relaxing and enjoying the morning. The back porch is perfect for getting some sun and there's a big backyard too. The owners have thought of everything you could need in a vacation home and it was spotlessly clean. This is a wonderful house for a family!

Perfect vacation or staycation home!
This is an amazing charming home with so much to offer!!! Location couldn’t be better as it is front beach, walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and only 10 minutes from mount pleasant. The ease of finding this house was wonderful after a long drive. The inside of the home far exceeded expectations. Beautifully restored, it enhanced the charm of the beach house. Perfect for families with ample space, beds, bunk beds and large kitchen. The porch is by far the favorite featured room. This property was extremely clean and well organized. The Inside is well maintained, both heating and air worked great. The yards landscaping is very clean and open for any out side activities you may bring. The view is breath taking! From grilling in the yard to the beautiful private beach access. You will not find a better house for your vacation needs!!!

Fabulous Cottage Front Beach
Having stayed here a few years back, I was astounded with the new upgrades! We loved staying here before but now it's better than ever. The owner's have renovated the entire back porch with new windows that allow you to see the fabulous ocean view even from the living room! New furniture and creature comforts throughout the house make you feel right at home. I think our favorite addition is the fireplace. We sipped wine by the fireplace and watched the sun set over the ocean all at one time! We definitely will recommend to friends and family and will be returning. We always appreciate the cleanliness of the home but even better now are the fabulous updates to the décor. Cannot wait to come back!

Perfect Front Beach Getaway
My wife and I stayed here a few years ago and really loved the quiet, cozy, cottage feel of this house. When we came back this year we were absolutely "wowed" by the upgrades. The porch view with the new large windows is incredible. And there is even a romantic fireplace to top it all off! The new upgrades to decor and bedding throughout the house give it an upbeat yet still beachy, feel. The best part about where the house is located is we were able to walk down the beach to The Pier area, have dinnner, and walk back watching sunset. Can't think of a better place to stay for a restful vacation right on front beach.

Wow. Iop Surprise
Wow. We always look forward to our little IOP cottage get a way but it was like Christmas all over when we arrived to the newly updated house. Every room was fresh and new. The front room was completely refurbished and renovated from the windows to the flooring. New TVs in every room. Comfy indoor furnishings and proper deck furniture What a beautiful facelift for our sweet IOP hide out that we didn’t even know it needed!

Charming Cottage
Of all the places I've traveled, this place truly felt like a home. The cottage is positively charming. The beachfront location is beautifully maintained and very welcoming. It is close to all the excitement at the pier (where there is beach volleyball during the daytime), yet far enough away to avoid the noise of the bars. At night you could sit on the porch and look at the stars. In the morning you could watch the sunrise over the ocean-- breathtaking. My stay was a delight, because it reminded me of simpler times (don't worry, we could still check emails or watch TV with hundreds of channel choices). I would highly recommend this home to any of my best friends.

Renter BEWARE!
The house is not maintained. It has many structural issues that made 6 adults very uncomfortable staying there. There are electrical drop cords every where. There are holes in some rooms of the floor; large enough for vermin to make there way into the house; many leaks from room air conditioners, toilets and sinks. Spider webs in the windows, blinds, and even in the furniture. Watch where you put your hands. The house is cluttered with old, worn, thrift store, furniture and lamps. In one room I counted 10 lamps not including the 3 lighted ceiling fans. And the smell will take your breath away and make you look for a place to throw up. The sun room, aka rotten floor room , covered with worn and dated rugs, smells of pee, mold and mildew. The sunroom windows are cracked and broken and are held together with clear tape. Tread lightly in this house. There is supposed to be a underneath section to sit and play games; don’t go there!; it is overgrown with mold, mildew, rust, and just plain neglected and nasty! Don’t stay here! Even though it is on the beach and the lot is gorgeous, (we had to call and ask for the grass and weeds to be cut so we could make our way to the overgrown beach path) you do have to eat and sleep in this nasty place!

Fun, comfortable beach house!
The house is great with lots of "social" space, including a spacious finished front room AND a porch. There is a vast front yard leading to the beach.
The kitchen is fully equipped to actually be able to cook meals (which was great for us since we were there during a snow storm). It is also an easy walk to a real grocery store.
If you are looking for fun and funky, family-friendly, this is your spot!!

Terrific older beach cabin, well equipped and cozy
This beach cabin is terrific! The location couldn't be better, close to the little commercial center and right smack on the beach. The house is very cozy (we were actually there during a snow storm, and the heat was great!), the kitchen and bedrooms are very well equipped for big groups and cooking projects, and the place is cheerful. We had three little kids with us, and it's definitely kid friendly. The cabin is older, but we liked the feel of it and this made us all the more comfortable with our little people running about. All the descriptions were accurate. I would love to come back when it's warm, and highly recommend this house.

Tired and dated.
The house is dated and in need of LOTS of repairs.
Patio doors to porch do not work properly
Fan blade in bedroom fell off while fan was running. Could have caused an injury.
Path to beach requires climbing over STEEP sand dune. An accident waiting to happen. We ended up using the public access path two doors down.
Kitchen needs a good surface cleaning; All surfaces were tacky with greasy residue.
There is a double oven but the upper oven doesn't work.
Good things were the fact that there were two regroup and the location was great.
