Lovely home, but quite disappointed with the unclean floor and the grill that had so much grease in and under it, we thought the propane tank might explode. Our grown sons had to move the tank and then clean up the dirty grill, the best they could. Otherwise I would highly recommend!

Our vacation here at Jeff's property was fantastic! The house fit our family and was clean and spacious. Jeff is around if you need him, but doesn't hover. The kids (and adults) truly enjoyed the clean beach and water. (We checked out other beaches and Jeff's is BY FAR the nicest and cleanest!! ) We loved our experience at South Shore Resort and are looking into renting there again. Thank you for a great vacation!!

We just returned from a four night stay in August. By the time I booked in Feb/March, only the two smaller cabins were left, but we were able to fit two families of 4-5 members each into each cabin. The cabins were very clean. AC unit in one and central air in the other. Paper towels, toilet paper, and a few dish towels, wash cloths and larger towels provided in a laundry basket. You could leave the basket out with dirty towels and a request for replenished paper products on Monday and Thursday. Lots of dishes and utensils provided. You can tell the owner, Jeff, and his family takes great pride in this property. Jeff lives onsite and can be seen often doing work around the grounds. Very friendly and talkative :). It looked like there were maybe two other family groups on the property at the same time, but it never felt crowded. There is a nice sized beach, lots of grassy areas for the kids to run and play and a "game garage" complete with bikes of all sizes (bring helmets), foosball, shuffleboard and a few other things. Water smelled a little funny (maybe just because we are city folk!) Water pressure and temperature were good. We drank bottled water. Meijer is just off the main expressway about 10 min down the road. There is a mom and pop corner store a two minute walk if you need pop, chips, etc. but I wouldn't do big shopping there. Bring your own fishing poles. There were canoes and kayaks to use and some provided sand toys, noodles and a few inflatables. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

This was our first time staying at South Shore Resort, and we're already booked for next year. The cottages and lodge are perfect for family reunions. The cottages are very clean, and the grounds expertly maintained. There's a lot of space for people to get together but still have their own family time. The resort is furnished with bikes, canoes, a fire pit, picnic tables, grills, and plenty of games. The lake is the perfect size and is warm! The staff is friendly and great to work with. Can't wait to go again next year!

We had our week long family reunion here and it was the perfect place!! Each family had there own rooms, but enjoyed sharing the big den and kitchen area. The lake was beautiful!! We all enjoyed playing in the beach area, kayaking and fishing in the lake. In the evening, we built a bon fire on the beach and made smores. The recreation/massive game room had lots of things to do...ping pong table, fooseball and pinball machine. There were plenty of bikes to ride for all ages. We had a wonderful relaxing family reunion! I would highly recommend!!!

Our family has been coming to this resort for 21 years now!! We love it. The lake is the perfect size & the cottages accommodate our family, great beach & awesome people who go the same week as us every year. When Jeff took it over, he did wonders to it & really made it comfortable for all. Our kids are now in their 20's & can't wait to go the South Shore each year. Thanks for all you have done to the place Jeff. See you soon!!!
