About this condo rental
Our spectacular beach property is 'On The Sand,' offering its own private beach while providing white water views and soothing ocean sounds (you hear the surf in every room). It has a bright beachy decor and a quiet location - conveniently located halfway between the Village in Carlsbad and the Pier in Oceanside (we walk on the sand to both). This completely renovated home is fully furnished (we relax here frequently) and offers sweeping ocean views from La Jolla to Catalina. You can watch the dolphins play or the whales spout from the living room, deck, or beach. At night, visit one of the area's fine restaurants or simply dine on the beach while watching the beautiful sun set over the Pacific. During the day, relax on the beach or enjoy the numerous activities that are unique to this fabulous destination. DETAILS This listing is for UNIT B. UNIT B (sleeps 1 to 6): Has 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms and has a California king size bed in the master bedroom, a full size on the bottom and twin on top (bunk bed) in the guest bedroom, and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. There are 3 different units. Unit A (2 Bd, 1 Ba - sleeps 6), Unit B (2 Bd, 2 Ba - sleeps 6), and Unit C (1 Bd, 1 Ba - sleeps 4). Unit A is VRBO #882233, Unit C is VRBO #253036, and all 3 units are VRBO #882235. The units are vertically arranged with Unit A at the street level, Unit B in the middle, and Unit C at the sand level. All 3 units face the ocean, have oceanfront decks, and share the private beach. Our beach house is 'well cared for' since we personally (as well as our family) stay in all 3 units, and we do have wireless broadband internet access. Over the years, we have had 100s of delighted beach loving guests.

We had a blast! We were here for a short stay for a lacrosse tournament for my son. This was the perfect location - easy to get to restaurants and entertainment. The beach was amazing. Fantastic sunsets and the boys even got in some surfing - so nice to have to right in the backyard. Will be back for sure!

Everyone in the family had a great time. The deck is splendid, looking out on the surfers, and my wife did her yoga practice and art work out there. A spectacular breakfast spot. The kids loved the bunk bed, the sandy backyard with abundant toys, imitating yoga poses, even the bath. The kitchen was very well equipped and a lot of cooking was done. The beds were very comfortable and the sound of the waves, a lullaby. The owner was super responsive and went out of her way to make everything perfect. The washer and dryer were essential but putting in quarters shouldn't be necessary. Get there or be unfashionably absent.

We stayed Thursday to Monday. Great location, best beach for walking once low tide comes. We spent most of our time on the balcony watching dolphins and enjoying the beautiful sunsets.
Would definitely stay here again.

Mostly everything was wonderful. Loved the location. Fit everyone comfortably. We planned to play in the water all day, but you can’t go down to the ocean until low tide. Also first vrbo I ever stayed in that you had to use coins to use the washer and dryer. Very frustrating.

Nice place to stay with incredible views from the large balcony. Loved being right on the oceanfront and walking the beach with the kiddos at low tide. Made for a great stay in Oceanside!

We've visited this property a number of times over the years. It is one of the most reasonably priced properties with the absolutely best ocean views of breaking waves. It has always been very clean. There are a lot of nearby tourist activities, although we just about always end of staying there on the balcony watching the waves roll in, with the gorgeous sunsets and beautiful sunrises. The apartment is very cute, decorated in beachy accents with ceramic fish tiles, and some beautiful mosaic and shell mirrors. The kitchen is well stocked with lovely dishes and lots of glassware and all the pots and pans and utensils you would need. There is no air conditioning, but with the ocean breezes you don't need A/C, just leave the balcony doors open. Whenever we get the chance, this is our go-to beach place.

So very pleased with everything about our stay. The owners are delightful. Clean. Very well maintained. Yes, the beach comes up to the rocks but st low tide you can enjoy the sand and beauty of being right on the ocean. Kitchen is fully stocked. Rooms are lovely. No plumbing issues or cable or issues of any kind. The deck is spacious and newly built. I recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway that is both private but also walkable to anywhere on the oceanfront. Thank you Kelley and Wes. Such a pleasure to meet you and we will return!! Maybe to rent all 3 units for a family reunion. Hopefully soon!!

The property was great except that the photo is miss leading. There is no beach as shown in the photo. The ocean comes right up to the boulders shown in the photo. When we checked in the owner was there and said the photo was taken prior to some big storms awhile ago that washed away the sand.

This was a dream beach stay. Having our own beach with lots of toys for the kids to play with was really nice. Near a lot of things to do. Walls were a little thin but we didn’t have neighbors except for one night. Would definitely stay here again

Unit B was so cute and clean. We enjoyed our own porch. Loved the views and beach backyard. I slept in the king size bedroom and the mattress was firm and good quality. The owner was very accessible and friendly. Neighborhood was beautiful. We will definitely choose to stay here again.

Location location location! Overall the house was great! Right on the beach but need to pay attention to the tide tables to ensure you are able to enjoy it. Place had all the amenities needed to make your own meals. Small but great for a family of 4 family. It wasn’t dirty but could use a deep cleaning which I am sure it’s not an easy task that close to the beach. If the top floor is occupied, especially with children, you will be fully aware they are there. You must have change to do laundry so be prepared for that. If you are going for the beach and little in home relaxing this is the place.

We loved our stay in Unit B! Beautiful views, comfortable beds, everything we needed in the kitchen! Only a short walk to the pier, restaurants, shops, etc! Great communication with the owner! We’ll be back :)

You can’t beat the location of this place, but unfortunately the interior is shabby and tired. There is no ventilation besides the windows, so the bunk bed smelled musty (in spite of the really strong smelling laundry detergent they used) and the bathroom vanity was in rough shape, the caulk was moldy and the ceiling paint was peeling in the shower. This was our first time to Oceanside and it did feel like the pictures of people on the beach were a little misleading. The only time you could walk along the beach in front of this unit (in February) was for a very short period of time at low tide in the afternoon. The rest of the time the ocean was too high. The owner was fantastic and got an electrician out right away when the little heater wouldn’t work. They just updated the siding and decks, which look great, hopefully they will update the interior next!

This is my family's 2nd stay at this beach house, and we are planning to come back again next year.
The new balcony is a plus. The ocean view from the beach house is priceless! The owners Kelley and Wes are very attentive to our needs.

Location was excellent for activities, ocean view, beach access. However, it appears the property hasn't been thoroughly cleaned for a long, long time. The floors were FILTHY, the living room chair was DISGUSTING, and the couch may have been the same but didn't show due to the dark color. Master bath has a very awkward layout. You have to lean over the toilet to use the mirror for whatever. There is a corner cabinet in front of the toilet that can result in a bad head injury! Kitchen utensils, pots/pans incomplete to accommodate for typical stay. Grill was unusable/rusted/dirty and there were no cleaning tools provided. We planned a special meal around the use of the grill but had to make last minute adjustments. We would stay again if these things were corrected.

Overall a great value and experience. Check-in was simple and the property was easy to get to. The neighborhood is awesome and everyone is friendly. The property itself could use a few upgrades like a/c because even in October it got pretty warm in the rooms. Unit B is the best out of the three units available at this property site in my opinion. Even though there is no assigned parking there were plenty of spots available on the street. The floors could probably use a good deep cleaning but overall the beds were comfy and the furniture was in good condition. My family of 5 enjoyed our stay and loved every second at this rental!

We had to keep the windows open both day and night, the odor was bad. You could scrape some type of film and grime off of the screens. There was no control for heating or cooling. We mainly used plastic ware and paper plates because of the condition of the plates and utensils.

The pictures of the beach must have been taken years ago because beyond the fence are stairs down to a very rocky beach. So we still had to drive to a beach. I would say this isn’t a place for an infant (but not many places are!) I would def come back once the kids are older. Hosts were very accommodating and communicative :)

Unit B was the perfect place for our family of four to rendezvous. We loved the private beach, views from inside and outside the unit, ability to prepare most of our meals, and enjoyed the firepit. Kelley was amazing in handling an appliance issue. We were there during a heat wave, so the lack of A/C began to take a toll by the end of our week there. Again, Kelley was gracious in helping with an additional fan. We'll be back and looking forward to the deck upgrades.

Such a sweet stay. We have two little kids (3&6) and the fenced in beach is everything. We hung out with the other families and had fun! The unit is quaint but clean and easy to use. Bring extra towels. Walkable to a GREAT breakfast burrito and coffee shop with a park. So fun! Thanks Kelley!

It was so nice to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean. The layout of the place is great! It’s so nice to have a yard with sand- the kids loved playing in the sand and there were stairs down to the ocean so we could visit the ocean. The only downside is that the floors are a little thin and sound can travel. So if you have kids- try to be on the bottom floor, maybe? Otherwise I can’t say enough good things about this property!
