House was spotless, sufficiently stocked with kitchen items for cooking & eating in & plenty of outdoor seating for lounging on back deck or screened front porch.Loved that it was located within walking distance to beach, grocery store and Nags Head Woods.If you like cozy cottages, ease and walking this is a wonderful choice.

Best little house ever! Everything was clean and organized. Even had stuff for our pup. Loved how close it was to the beach and shops. Highly recommend! Owners nice and respond fast! Lots of restaurants around that your pup can join you at. Will be back!

This house was beautiful and very very clean. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable. (My husband calls it the miracle bed) lol.
We would definitely stay there again.
Bridgett was our contact and she was very personable. Loved the gift basket with the pumpkin bread. Absolutely delicious.

We truly enjoyed our time at the Salty Shrimp.The house had everything that we needed and it was a quick walk to the beach. Our host Bridgett was amazing! We were there during the tropical storm and Bridgett stayed in contact with us to make sure everything was okay. We look forward to going back in the future and highly recommend this rental!!

Perfect beach cottage! Loved this beach access - one block from the access itself - quick 2 minute walk down the sidewalk. Can run back to the cottage for lunch, check on your pooch, snag more snacks, etc. Access has a wooden ramp w/out steps and a "beach carpet" that extends a little ways over the dune. You could also just walk the sandy ramp which was mostly flat. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for bike rides and morning walks. The side yard was great for letting our dog get a little exercise in. The house itself was spotless! The cleanest house we've ever stayed in! Little beach decorations in all the right places, comfy beds, cool retro kitchen appliances, front porch was screened and perfect for people watching, enjoyed the back deck,e tc etc etc. If we could add something to make this house an even better place to stay, we'd add a second bathroom, or a half bath at least. It was challenging for all 5 of us to use the same bathroom, but we made it work for the week. The communication was awesome as well and we appreciate everything that goes into getting a house ready for a family to have a super beach vacay! Would definitely rent again in the future!

The property is older, needs some work but it was very clean even though it allows dogs, but you would never know that its that clean. Our contact Bridgette was very nice and easy to work with.
Only complaint was it stated it had 3 TV's, which it did but only 1 TV worked in living room with cable, the other 2 in 2 of the 3 bedrooms did not work at all. There was no cable attached to them , had DVD's? Not sure why? does anyone use DVD players anymore?

Cozy and comfortable home. Walking distance to the beach was perfect with two little children and a dog. Home was as listed and the welcome gifts were great. Would highly recommend for small families or group of friends.

From the well-appointed kitchen, games and books, and fantastic location this cottage exceeded our expectations. In addition to being a very short walk to the beach, it’s in the perfect location for visiting Jockey’s Ridge State Park, Wright Brothers Memorial, The Nature Conservancy trails, and more. We walked to Mahi Mahi for a great dinner and down to Booty Treats for shaved ice and ice cream. Overall, we loved this cottage and would love to return.

we love the beach and this cottage was a perfect place to stay. Everything you might need they provided ....beach chairs, fully equipped kitchen with everything you could ask for, comfortable beds, charcoal for the grill. Just a short walk to the beach with access just at the end of the road.
Check in was easy and all the information you could need with local activities and places.to go and things to do right at your fingertips. My husband loved the retro clock.in the kitchen and we now have one in the bedroom.
Bridgett was.great and responded immediately to my inquiries.
I greatly appreciate d all her help.

Perfect location!! Short walk to beach! Restaurants close enough to walk. Perfect size for our family of 4. Nice and clean and lots of great amenities! We would definitely stay here again!!

This was wonderful. The cottage was the right size for us and it was beautiful. The owner was great and kept in touch with us. If the weather had been better it would have been perfect. It rained and rained and rained. We had to cancel some of our plans because of it. I hope that we will be able to return in the future.

The Salty Shrimp lived up to every review and then some! Location is perfect! Literally open the door and walk a short block to the ocean! So many shops and places to eat within walking distance. Super convenient to be able to order a groceries and only take a 5 to 10 minute drive to pick up. Every type of restaurant within a 5 to 10 minute walk.
The house was super clean and well taken care of. We were delighted to walk in and find a cute welcome basket with fresh blueberry lemon bread! The house has everything you will need to enjoy a day at the beach or a cookout on the back deck. Fully equipped kitchen. Beds were super comfy. Open all thebl windows and listen to the ocean waves and enjoy the breeze! Didnt have any issues and the only 2 times i had to reach out to local management they were super quick to respond and went out of their way to give us some great insight on places to eat and sight seeing info. Easy check in and check out process. Simply couldnt have been a better experience! Will DEFINITELY be back to stay again but will probably add a few days!

My husband and I stayed here with our 5 year-old daughter and two dogs. We loved this property. It was very clean and very close to the beach access. Loved the screened in porch. Close to lots of activities and restaurants. Will definitely be looking to book this house again in the future.

Great stay! The cottage is very lovely. It has a nice kitchen with updated appliances, a screened-in front porch, and is only a block from the beach. The host left a nice welcome basket for us. We would definitely book this cottage again.

We love the Salty Shrimp! The short walk to the beach, convenience of nearby shopping and the ambience of the property, not to mention the hosts are fantastic.
If driving isn't your thing, everything is in walking distance- grocery, restaurants, beach; there's a grill in the back and charcoal is available. You can literally unpack the car and spend the week walking or biking anywhere.

The location of this is home is absolutely perfect! So close to the beach and such a lovely home stocked with anything you might need during your stay. The owners are very responsive and communicative should you need anything while you’re here. Would rate this home a 10/10 and recommend this home and location to anyone!

The location of the property can't be beat. Woke up to walk to get biscuits after taking sunrise photos of the beach. Our dog loved it and it was super convenient. The house was the perfect size and very clean. Highly recommend!

The PERFECT little Salty Shrimp
Everything about this rental was perfect. So amazingly well stocked. Anything you could possibly need, it had. Just bring your clothes, swimsuit, beach towel, and some food and you’re all set. The owner is so sweet. There was a yummy key lime pie, local coffee grounds, popcorn and a sweet card waiting for us when we arrived. It’s not a large house but we had six adults and were perfectly comfortable. Such an easy short walk to the beach. We highly recommend the Salty Shrimp and would stay there again.

The property is updated and extremely clean. Comfortable beds. Convenient to the beach. Owner is wonderful. Clear communication, accessible and goes out of her way to ensure you have a very wonderful stay. The welcome basket was a a very personal touch that shows she cares. We would definitely stay again.

I have never stayed in any property online other than a hotel. Let me just say i will never stay in a hotel on vacation again. This cottage on the beach was the most comforting and homiest feeling place next to my own home that ive ever stayed! We were greeted before our check in, were given a post card and a home baked lemon blueberry bread (by far better than any where i had and i’m a food snob), the place was immaculate you could smell how clean the air was, no dust anywhere, i have bad allergies and it was actually easier to breathe than my own home! We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen, appliances, netflix and satellite tv, there was a guest book to sign and add to. Then there were pamphlets and an entire scrapbook of places to go, things to eat, things to do!!! There’s puzzles and games for if you get stuck in on a rainy day but don’t want tv, there are clean towels and washcloths in each room. The furniture has been updated since i seen the pictures online and all of the furniture was completely comfortable. I am not even home yet and i’m leaving this review!! I need to find out what kind of mattresses were there because i need one of those in my life. The area is quiet away from all the hustle and bustle, yet just outside the neighborhood everything is within walking distance that you’ll ever need for your stay. The beach is right down the street literally maybe a handful of houses and then you cross a one lane each way not busy-at-all cross walk and bam there’s the beach! Very pet friendly here too. Even our dogs were treated like guests!!! They provided a dog blanket, dog bed, dog bowls, and place mat for the dogs!! It’s insanely perfect. I would rate this above and beyond any place in existence. Best. vacation. EVER! Thank you so much i can’t even explain. If you need a place to stay, stay here, you’ll regret not having this experience.

We went on a quick 5 day trip to OBX and found this ideal location for our family to stay. This house was right in the perfect area as we traveled everyday to see lighthouses, horses, deer and every OBX town we could find. We also enjoyed the easy access to the beach and open floorplan for family game night and fellowship. Would definitely stay here again!
The host was amazing checking in with us often by email to be sure everything was to our liking! The host also left us a gift basket of goodies too!

We just loved the cottage. The location was perfect. The owners went above and beyond what they needed to do. Very fast to communicate with you. Very dog friendly. The homemade pumpkin bread was yummy and a really nice touch. Loved the screened in porch. Couldn’t have been happier.
