Blissful Cabin Retreat on the Quietside of Acadia National Park
About this house rental
Our all-wood interior vacation home was built in 1990. It is in a private wooded setting, on a circle off the main road. We are a short 1/2 mile walk to the waterfront, and a mile to the town center. The house is 1000 sq. ft., 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The main living area is open plan, with well-equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen has a newer refrigerator, newer range, brand-new dishwasher and microwave. A brand new bathroom (with shower only) with washer and dryer. The spacious master bedroom has a king bed. The guest bedroom has one king bed and the living room/den has a full foldout sofa. Broadband Wifi Internet access is included. We have a new large deck with a gas grill, outdoor table and 4 wrought-iron chairs for outdoor dining. We also have four Adirondack chairs and table for a relaxing retreat. Two cross-terrain bikes and car-rack with helmets are in the shed. The house can accommodate up to six people.

Perfect spot for my week in Maine. Spent my days exploring Acadia and returned each evening to a cozy place for the evening. Central location. Alicia and Todd were great. I would stay here again.

Very cozy place and a great location. Comfortable 2 bedroom house with great deck and beautiful surrounding area. Easy access . Thank you Alicia for making our check out hours comfortable. Bonus benefit - great lobster sale just around the corner. We would dream to come back next summed!

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at Bliss Cabin for our babymoon. Truly a special home in a special place. Our third time to Acadia/MDI and this cabin was a perfect home for us for the week. Thank you so much for opening your home to us!

I needed to get away from the throngs of people and this fit the bill! Beautiful idyllic setting but close enough to town for necessary items. Very convenient to tourist sites but out of the mainstream congestion. Will definitely visit again!

Great Place
Great place to stay while on Acadia vacation. Close enough to everything yet out of the way for privacy. Comfortable place to stay. The mosquitos are bad, so be prepared.

A storm cut our stay short by a couple days as the cottage lost power and we had to leave to stay in a hotel the last 2 nights. With no power and with well water, no power = no water. The cottage was clean and was just as described. The internet worked well and there was plenty of room and lots of assets for cooking if we had wanted to. The property is out of town and very dark at night. No street lighting and no lighting outside other than the porch lights. A dusk to dawn light would have been helpful so that we would not have to leave the car running until we got everything in the cottage when we returned each night. The property would be very nice for a small family or 2 couples. Summer rentals would allow for outdoor sitting on the deck. I would recommend the property for rental. The price was reasonable.

Wonderfully quiet and peaceful
The cabin was quaint, comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the wooded, mostly-private deck. We loved the location on Mt Desert Island, a scenic drive from the hustle-bustle crowds of Bar Harbor and oh, so convenient for exploring all parts of Acadia National Park! We had a wonderful time and would recommend this place to all our friends.

It was just enough amenities for our family...comfortable beds, washer and dryer, games, TV and pots to cook lobsters. Lots of family time here. Conveniently there was a lady minutes from the house selling lobster for $6/lb...that was great!! Our family has been visiting MDI for the last 4 yrs now, and it was our first time staying in Southwest Harbor. The only negative we had was that we had to drive further than normal to get to the areas we wanted to hike and visit, which was not a big deal. As a “get away”, it was perfect. Ashley, the cleaner, left her number if we needed anything and was available immediately when I texted her. Thank you for a great stay!

Blissful Retreat

The area was amazing. It was quiet with just one mile to the town center were there were amazing places to eat. The bed was comfortable for my husband and I. Our two dogs loved hiking on the trails and playing in the ocean. Would definitely stay again!

Blissful for sure. The location was right around corner to Bar Harbor and all it's beauty.
The cabin is cozy, with all the comforts of home. So close to Bar Harbor and all of it's beauty. Maine has really drawn us in. It will be hard to leave. Don't hesitate to include Bliss in your plans. You won't be sorry. My dog felt right at home too. Thank your for sharing it with us.

I braved Acadia and the Bliss cabin for school vacation with 5 kids. The cabin was quiet and peaceful. Far enough away to relax yet close enough to not feel stranded with 5 kids. The beds were super comfortable with cozy, warm bedding! We had good weather and hiked all day and came home and watched a movie without feeling cramped or stuck in one room. Shower was roomy and hot water was never an issue! Only thing I’d change is empty dresser space to unpack in. I would definitely stay again.

Bliss Retreat
I braved Acadia and the Bliss cabin for school vacation with 5 kids. The cabin was quiet and peaceful. Far enough away to relax yet close enough to not feel stranded with 5 kids. Southwest harbor - October 2018
We stayed at Bliss for a week in October 2018. The cabin was just fine for our purposes. The location in Southwest Harbor is away from the congestion of Bar Harbor, but still close enough to travel there and to the eastern Acadia National Park locations daily. The western part of Acadia offers some great hiking locations, and these were minutes from the cabin.
The cabin itself was fine. it was reasonably furnished with a lot of storage room. The kitchen was well equipped, maybe a bit over equipped, but that's better than not enough. The bedrooms are roomy and the bathroom looks like it was updated not too long ago.
This is a good property in a good location.

Great Location
Bliss cabin was so conveniently located on the "quiet" side of Acadia. We were so glad to be away from the Bar Harbor/cruise crowds. There are tons of hiking trails nearby. The neighborhood was really quiet making sitting out on the deck quite enjoyable without any annoying bugs. The cabin is fully stocked with whatever you need. Since we flew, the folding chairs and cooler came in handy. The bed was super comfortable.

A Wonderful Stay
Our family had a great time at this cottage. It was very clean. The bathroom was clean and updated. Outside was a great, private backyard surrounded by woods that was perfect for our dog. We did not even need a leash on him back there. Sleeping was true bliss- from the mattress to the comforter and pillow. It’s a very quiet and private street, with neighbors spaced far apart for privacy. The owners were very good with communication.

It was easy to relax - it was quiet, peaceful, and all the amenities we could want. Our dogs were very comfortable here and had a great time as well.

Great place to stay and visit
We had so much fun at this quite beautiful home. Everything you need and great views from windows and great porch. The place is clean and wonderful and you can bring your dogs. Down the street, is a lobster person, you can get great lobsters and his neighbor has clams! We love cooking and the kitchen was really well equipped. The beds were so comfortable too.

Quiet place in SW Harbor
Cosy house, all utilities in the kitchen, nice beds and also the bathroom was clean and had a warm shower. The surrounding is quiet and beautiful. We had a very nice stay here. Also a very good communication with the owner.

Great home close to town
Everything was as pictured in the photographs. The bed was very comfortable , the kitchen had everything we needed , including a lobster pot to cook the fresh lobsters we got on a lobster boat ! This house was private but in a neighborhood .most homes in Maine have a lot of woods around them . The only downside was the crazy amount of mosquitos around the porch and driveway . We had to run from the car to the house . Definitely bring bug spray if you come in the summer .

Excellent location on quietside of island. Nicely secluded in woods, 2 minutes from SW Harbor. Modern interior, great deck for morning relaxing or evening grilling. Master bedroom with plush king size bed. Nice bathroom with good pressure in shower. Full kitchen to cook any type of meal easily. Short drive to all the best west side trails. Our dogs loved it and felt very safe letting them use yard without leash on. We would definitely return here next year.

Truly "Blissful!"
We love the private, tranquil setting. And yet it is so close to the activities of Southwest Harbor. The open floor plan was great. The shower was wonderful. The bed!! Omg! So comfortable. The grill was really handy as we cooked three times out there. The sofas are really cozy. Great place for our summer trip to MDI. We plan to come next year.

Bliss was simply that "BLISS"
My family enjoyed sitting on the deck talking and having our morning breakfast . Watching the family games of badminton in the yard. Our pooch had a good time too! The beds were very comfy and what a great closet too! We would definitely recommend BLISS to everyone. What a nice place to stay.
