Sandbridge Beach Retreat with Great Screened Porches and new pool!
About this house rental
Situated in Sandbridge, this lovely house for $629 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. The house is located on the 'Third Row' of Sandbridge. It is a short walk to the beach. Sandbridge has a white sandy beach and fun surf. It is not too rough, but has ample waves for boogie boarding and surfing fun. Pitch your umbrella and enjoy the day. And, of course, our new pool, added in 2021. Cathedral ceilings and large windows provide an open, outdoorsy feel. Rough cut cedar walls and pine floors throughout. Living area opens up to a screened breezeway. The breezeway has wonderful sea breezes and shady areas throughout the day. Plenty of deck furniture makes it a wonderful place to gather. Master Bedroom/Bath (QB) is off the main living area. Bedroom 2 (QB) and Bedroom 3(2 sets of twin bunks) and 2nd bath are separated from the main part of the house by the breezeway. There is also an ocean side sun deck with a table and chairs and umbrella. It is a great place to sunbathe, and is shady and cool in the evenings. Situated on a large sandy lot surrounded by sea grasses, bayberry and wax myrtle, the property has a secluded, beachy atmosphere. Enjoy bird watching and gorgeous sunsets over Back Bay. Personally would have preferred a propane grill (we knew it was charcoal when we booked so no surprises there!). The charcoal grill was in good shape and we used it every day, sometimes twice a day!
Nice screened in decks with nice views.
The pool was amazing! Great size for us (4 adults).
There were beach chairs, beach umbrellas provided.
The AC worked great in the entire house.
Beach access was 1 house away - VERY convenient!!

This was an absolutely beautiful and interesting home to stay for our vacation! The lay out was perfect for our daughter to "have her own space". The home could use a couple tiny updates/fixes but nothing that stopped us from enjoying our stay! Definitely a cool, old beachy vibe! Communication with the owner was also easy and quick! Overall 5 stars!

I have a 4 and 6 year old. The 2 extra bedrooms are detached from the house and are secured by individual dead bolts to securely lock. My kids cannot open or close a dead bolt with a key, so if you have young children and are reading this, make sure you/they will be comfortable locking themselves in their rooms. Would be ideal for pre teens and older! The breezeway has 2 hook and eye locks on the screen doors, so we didn’t feel comfortable leaving them out on the breezeway with the deadbolts unlocked. That being said, the house was charming, very clean and very comfortable! We loved the potted flowers on the breezeway and the pool was wonderful and clean!

We had a great time here. Enjoyed the pool every day and watching the sunrise with dolphins! Nice short walk to the beach. Hope to be back next year.

We had a great experience staying here! The house is a short, easy walk to the beach. The pool, laundry room, outdoor shower and screened in porch were stellar! You can tell how much the owner appreciates the history of this house. We would definitely stay again!

Family trip with adult children
This was a great vacation. The house met all our needs, was very clean and loaded with dishes, glasses, cooking items, etc. towels and linens were supplied and greatly appreciated. The new pool is wonderful.

I wouldn't plan to cook anything crazy in the kitchen during the height of summer, as the air conditioning does get overtaxed, but for a quick meal on the stovetop it works just fine. Tons of dishware and normal cookware are provided.

Family tradition!
This was our fourth year staying here with our friends and family. We love the unique character of the house, proximity to the beach and nature preserve, and cool little restaurants in the area. The addition of the pool this year was just icing on the cake.

Great Beach Getaway
My teens and I really enjoyed staying at this adorable retro-style beach home. Clean, comfortable, and very close to the gorgeous beach (third row from the beach). Beach has amazing waves! House is older but well-equipped with all amenities (dishwasher, huge washer and dryer, A/C, outdoor shower, tons of books and board games) Owners responded quickly to questions. A great way to end our summer!

Vacation
Very clean! Loved the lay out...it will be even better when our 6 year olds are older and will sleep in the bunk bed room!! Having the screened in breeze way with sitting areas was great and one end was always shaded depending on the time of day. You are able to control the AC temperature for each room. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent beach house.
This beach house was perfect for us. Very close to the beach and had everything we needed. The screened in porch was a great place to drink my coffee in the morning. The rooms are all nicely air conditioned and very comfy. I would definitely stay here again.

Love love loved this place!
We absolutely loved this unique A frame cottage that has a very interesting history! We felt very much at home immediately! After a full day of sun and surf it was nice to come in to the air conditioned shade of the cedar walls and ceilings before having happy hour on the back porch. The house offers a really unique blend of sunlight and shade at all times of the day.
The walk to the beach was short; the beach not crowded. This particular beach community is quiet and safe.
Supermarkets and farm markets were only 15 mins away.
Don was always accessible and very responsive. My $200 deposit was returned immediately!

A "Home Run" Beach House - We're Shore Of It
In the week that our family stayed at Sandbridge, there were multiple thunder storms that caused us to have to run inside. Although our fun in the sun was cut short, this beach house provided us with a cozy safe haven from the rain and the wind. With many necessities such as cutlery and cute tableware, there were also things that we enjoyed such as playing board games and watching movies together while relaxing during a night in. The many great perks of this house include the warm outdoor showers, which made washing off sand a pleasant thing to do, the individual AC units in each room, which the kids really liked because they love to sleep in the tundra, and the huge laundry machine that makes it easy to wash our huge load of wet clothing from the beach. In general, this beach house was homey and inviting, and it has the authentic feeling of being a home away from home rather than a rental away from home. It was interesting to see the change of Sandbridge through the pictures in the house from the 60's and 70's to today. The history of the house is visible not only through photos but through every piece of the house. It's obvious to see that the owners really love this house. It's our second year in this house and each visit has been lovely. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year!

Quaint and relaxing!
Our two small families (total of 2 kids and 3 adults) visited Sandbridge for the first time together this year, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cozy, unique home. There was enough room for individual privacy, with a comfortable shared living space. Short walk to the beach, great outdoor spaces, and the convenience of on-site laundry were icing on the cake. Can't wait to come back next year!

Beach Perfection
We loved our stay in Sandbridge. The home was perfectly beachy and rustic and suited our small family well (though we could comfortably have fit more than our 4 adults and 2 toddlers).
The kitchen is well stocked with all the things you may need to cook a big meal. I do wish the oven was full size, but we made it work!
The beach is not a far walk at all, though I would recommend renting or brining a beach cart if you plan to schlep a ton of stuff. This home is fairly far from "stuff"--which was exactly what we were looking for, but is super close to the nature preserve and a short drive inland to get to restaurants/groceries/etc.
Overall, we'd definitely stay again.
