Located in the emerald rainforest of southern Costa Rica and just a stone throw from the mighty Pacific Ocean, this 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom rental home is ideal for families, friends and couples on a romantic getaway. With capacity for 6 guests, San Martin Mirador features 3 floors, a 30-foot swimming pool with plenty of lounge chairs, air conditioning in all 3 bedrooms, a large kitchen and, best of all, an incredible third-floor hangout area with full ocean views and bar. There is also wireless Internet to keep you and your guests plugged into the rest of the non-tropical world. From the top floor of the villa, visitors can play cards, shoot the breeze, sip on drinks and enjoy picturesque sightlines of the ocean just below. There are direct views of Cano Island and the mesmerizing Osa Peninsula from this area, and it isn't uncommon, at the right time of year, to see migrating whales from the upstairs room. Other common visitors to the property include monkeys, toucans, pizotes, butterflies and frogs. All 3 bedrooms are located on the second floor of the house. Each room features an on-suite bathroom and air conditioning. Two of the bedrooms have king beds and the third room features a queen mattress. The full-equipped kitchen, with a dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, coffee pot, blender and plenty of cooking gear, is also located on the middle floor. This is also a great place to sit back and relax while catching movies or sitcoms on the large, flat-screen television in the living room. Down below, on the ground-level floor, is a washer and dryer unit as well as an additional restroom. San Martin Mirador is located between the towns of Domincal and Uvita. From the coastal highway, it takes about 5 minutes to reach the property. The nearest beach is just down the road and is wide open to visitors. There's a great chance you could stroll out to this beach at any time and have the entire place to yourself. Beautiful property, fantastic view, very clean, comfortable and well appointed stay! We loved the veranda and the daily visits from the many wonderful bird species. The nature that surrounds the property is just lovely. The pool was a welcome addition to help cool off on those particularly hot, humid days. Within a short drive to all amenities. Would definitely stay here again if visiting this region!

The property was lovely. We enjoyed watching nature on the veranda, with monkeys visiting daily and a wide variety of colorful birds flying by.
The pool was quite shallow (it would be perfect for children younger than my own), but was a great way to cool off from a day in the hot sun.
We did lose power multiple times, due to the heavy rains (we visited at the beginning of rainy season.)
There were many great restaurants within a 10-minute drive. Alternatively, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Costa Rica, and would highly recommend this villa.

We stayed for a week during the “rainy” season, where it rained very little. We had a wonderful time and a wonderful stay. The kitchen has the basics that you would need to try your hand at cooking local cuisine. Plenty of comfortable chairs to sit and soak up the views of the coast or to sit by the pool. I wasn’t used to Costa Rica’s system for addresses. So if you type in the name of the house, that is actually where it is! Laundry came with plenty of detergent, as did the dishwasher. We fixed the grill while we were there so it’s working great! You will NEED a four wheel drive vehicle, the slope maxes out at 16% in one spot! Clean tap water and a freezer that produces some ice. Very clean pool with friendly pool service
Some refinements. If you enjoy VERY firm beds, then you’ll enjoy these beds. WIFI is pretty weak here so I’d suggest at least one phone with an international plan. Very thin walls between bedrooms (especially the bathrooms). Know in advance that there will be blackouts at night, all of which occurred after we went to sleep so I couldn’t tell you how long they lasted. Would stay here again most definitely.

The property is absolutely beautiful! Views of the Pacific Ocean and Cano island, crystal clear pool and well equipped kitchen provides a great spot for exploring the area.
Monkeys and toucans were frequent visitors. Dog next door barked occasionally, usually to alert us to the monkeys traveling past the property.
We’ve been in Costa Rica for 7 weeks and stayed in 5 high end places. This property is by far the best of them.

Our trip to the San Martin Mirador house was just amazing! The house is completely perfect, the photos don’t do it justice… it’s just stunning. The view is incredible, the birds made morning coffee last hours! Both types of toucans, scarlet macaws, hummingbirds and white faced monkeys! The location is great, the house is very private and right between dominical and uvita. In a jungle neighborhood where you really do need a 4x4, and the property manager was so responsive to our questions and so helpful with everything! We couldn’t ask for a better experience!

Wonderful!
This house does not disappoint. Exactly how it is pictured on line perhaps even better. Three couples stayed, all having their own spacious bedroom and bathroom. Views are beautiful throughout the day. Toucans and monkeys came to visit regularly, Howler monkeys could be heard a few times a day. Our VRBO host was amazing. We did not rent a vehicle and almost daily he would arrange a taxi for us to go anywhere. We only had one day where we thought the pool needed cleaning and he was completely attentive to that and sent someone over right away. If renting a vehicle you must have a 4x4 to tackle the very steep hill. The location is closer to Dominical, but a quick drive and you can reach the Dominical beach, Nauyaca Falls, Hacienda Baru and Whales tail and many wonderful places to dine. If you have never been, it is good to know that walking is not an option. The hills are incredibly steep and the main highway that connects towns is windy and fast without a safe border. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful country and would not hesitate to stay at Casa San Martin Mirador again.

So relaxing!
Property is very beautiful and met all of our needs. Was central for going numerous places and the view is outstanding. The only negative was a very hard bed, we woke up sore. No kitchen towels and dogs barking at the neighbors every morning, sometimes starting at 4:30a.m. (Probably the most frustrating) None of these things would stop us from visiting again! Loved this home and the surrounding area!

The views are amazing!
It was such a fun trip for our family. The views are unbeatable for the price. It’s only a 10 min drive to the town and it’s centrally located to all the excursions. They’re recommendations for excursions were perfect. We LOVED the river rafting at the savegre river! We did hear dogs bark but not while sleeping. Amazing stay! Definitely would come back. We didnt have any bugs in our stay since we made sure to leave doors closed especially at night.

The home and location were absolutely wonderful. The kitchen had everything to cook a meal (nice dishes, not old and abused dishes) and we really appreciated that. The AC in the bedrooms worked great. There are so many good things that I cannot list them all. The only downfall were the neighbors dogs barking all night long., you eventually get used to it I am sure. We were there for 8 days and would rent this house again despite the dogs. Cannot wait to visit this area again. I forgot to mention you do need a 4x4 vehicle if you rent this house.

Nice property with a great view of the ocean
Nice house for three couples with three nice master bedrooms and baths. We spent a lot of time in and around the pool if we were at the house during the day, which is very nice. We didn’t know until the last minute that a 4 wheel drive vehicle was need to access the property and it is needed. The house is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked with things you will need to do any cooking. Not sure if the listing mentions the main area of the house does not have AC. The bedrooms have AC and worked well. We spent most of our time on the porch enjoying the evening breezes and view, the AC was not a big deal. We enjoy our two week stay and would have no problem staying again.

Wonderful Family Vacation
This villa is absolutely beautiful! It is spacious, clean, peaceful and the views are gorgeous. Plenty of wildlife surrounds the villa. The management company is superb to work with. Stephen and Jhonnathan were very helpful in helping us schedule excursions and private chefs before we arrived. They were very prompt in answering any questions that we had. My family and I highly recommend this property. Pura Vida!

Great place. One small issue
This is an awesome house! Everything you need and more. Great view, beautiful furnishings, well equipped kitchen and an excellent layout.
We really enjoyed it and the location is convenient for getting to activities and shopping.
The small issue, which has been noted in previous reviews is the neighbors have dogs that bark off and on at all hours and, what really bugged me, they use the parking area (and sidewalk on one occasion) at our house as a bathroom. I had to do cleanup duty every morning with an improvised pooper scooper. Not the way I like to start my day when I’m in paradise. Overall though, a wonderful place.

Paradise
What can I say. This property was better than any picture posted on this site. The location was absolutely perfect and the property was just beautiful. We lost our son 2 years ago and decided on visiting a different country every year in his memory. The only problem we encountered was having to leave. Check in was perfect and no issues at all. All staff we encountered were friendly and willing to go above and beyond for our trip! We did the sport fishing, horseback riding to the falls, went to the animal sanctuary in Dominical and had a private chef prepare us dinner on our last night. Thank you to everyone that made our stay of 10 days the best ever! We will return. Pura Vida!

Highly Recommended Staying Here
First Time in Costa Rica for us: 2 adults & 2 kids. Getting to this property took a few extra hours because they shut down the highway, so that part was very stressful for us. We luckily found a group of people that was more than willingly to take the time to explain a different way and even let us follow them to the next town. The check in was super easy and they went over everything we would need to know and was always available if we needed anything. We booked a snorkel and zip line tour through them as well. I would say the only not so real good thing to the whole trip was the barking dog, he seemed to like to be awake during the night and bark off and on - kind of annoying when your trying to sleep. We pretty much heard him the whole time we where there except maybe one night, two if we were lucky.
We highly recommended staying here, the view was to die for, you won't be disappointed at all.

Best place we've ever stayed!
This house was everything the listing said and more! Three master suites, each with their own bathroom, Full kitchen with everything you need to cook, a walk in pool with a view of the ocean, monkeys every day, toucans and a list of other wildlife that we continually had to look up to see what they were. The view from the porch was completely breathtaking. The only downside, and it wasn't too bad, was the drive up. It was a little rough and could definitely get worse in the heavy rain season. It was a short drive though. Totally worth it!

Superb stay at Mirador!
Had a very relaxing stay here! The troop of monkeys welcomed us at the balcony the first day and a few times after including a howler. Barking neighbor dogs were annoying as well as one night neighbors in house just below. I wasn’t aware of such close neighbours when I booked but they were just loud the one night. The drive up was not long up or too steep compared to many other mtn houses I rented here. Should be 4x4 though and should be written in web booking. Some pool toys would be great also. There were only 2 towels per bathroom so laundry is required rather frequently. I would definitely book this place again!! It is well located. Also the kitchen was well stocked (take your own aluminum foil and Saran Wrap; odd none there!)

Amazing Stay
We stayed in San Martian Sur April 9-14th. It was simply amazing. There was 4 of us total (2 couples). Neil, Stephen, and Claudia helped us plan and was there for any needs throughout the trip. Couldn’t have asked for better customer service. The views are breathtaking. We saw tocans, butterfly’s, howler monkeys with babies, and capuchin monkeys from our porch. Beds were comfortable, ac is just in the bedrooms but breeze from porch kept the house cool. We had transport from airport, rented a car once at house. Driving around the area was safe. We did the atv tour (awesome, our favorite), canopy zip line, naucuya waterfall (take the truck up and back), and went to the whales tail to walk to beach. The food everywhere we went in the area was delicious. Have to go to Jolly Rogers, it’s only 0.5 miles or so from the house. We opted for Stephen to Stock the house with groceries before we arrived, totally worth it. It was dark when we arrived and had plenty of food for the week. We also had Private Chef come in one night; we had the catch of the day, shrimp, etc .. it was the best meal of the week. Highly recommend. Thank you all to yougethere staff for all your help, our trip was truly unforgettable! 🐒🦜🦋🦎🌷🌸🐍☀️

Lovely home and great time in Costa Rica!
This home is exactly as depicted in pictures on the VRBO website. It's very nice and well equipped. The view is lovely, the pool and surrounding area are great, and having an en suite bathroom for each bedroom is really convenient. Note that one of the bedrooms actually has a queen bed vs king - so there are two king beds and one queen bed. Still plenty of room.
The property management company, You Get Here, did a great job with our check-in and check-out. We also relied on them to set up 3 excursion, all of which went very well. (Tips for those - the horseback ride to the waterfall is great. Be prepared for about 4 miles on horseback, but it goes quickly. The TiTi Canopy Tour was fun for all. Finally the ATV ride through the jungle and to the coffee farm was great -- big tips there, take goggles or glasses due to dust (they provide bandannas to cover nose/mouth) and know that it's a lot of riding. The attendants on all excursions were very professional and friendly.)
You definitely need 4-wheel drive to get to the house, but you'll also need one for going a lot of places in Costa Rica due to road conditions off the main highways (it's rugged). The house was supposed to be cleaned once midway during our stay, and the cleaning personnel never showed up. That wasn't really a big deal at all - the main concern was overflowing garbage outside at the can since we had taken advantage of so much wonderful fruit.
As far as wildlife - two types of monkeys and toucan were easily seen from the house. We also saw hummingbirds and several other bird varieties. The house is very close to the Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, so you may have to go there for the sloths!
Overall a great house and trip!

Pura Vida Paradise!
We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy an amazing adventure in Costa Rica. Our group included me, my husband, and our two grown sons. The house set up accommodated us perfectly with room to spare. We had lots of beautiful spaces indoors and out to be together and still plenty of room for privacy if desired. The pool is lovely and we used it every day. The views from the pool deck, the main floor covered porch, one of the bedrooms, and particularly the top floor room were comparable to the most desirable ocean views anywhere in the world. The front and sides of the house are private and sheltered by spectacular jungle foliage filled with exotic birds and even monkeys. We heard howler monkeys regularly and had a family of white faced monkeys travel through the trees on our last day. We spotted toucans, scarlet tanagers, and even a very rare white eagle from the house. The kitchen has every thing you need, the bedding was super comfortable and all of the basics were provided. Stephen was flexible and accommodating at check in, was available to us for any questions, and helped us schedule amazing activities. We particularly enjoyed an evening with Royner of Uvita Private Chef and Catering. Meeting Royner and enjoying a meal and conversation with him (an Uvita native) was the highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed a beautiful adventure to Cano Island for snorkeling with Bahia Aventuras and had the most amazing time on an ATV tour with Jungle ATV. Close and easy access to Nauyaca Falls provided us with a day hike on our own where we ended up resting alongside gorgeous waterfalls and swimming in a fresh water pool. There is not a single thing about this stunning property that did not delight us. In particular, the top floor room was our spot to drink coffee while the sun rose over the mountains in the distance and in the evenings while it set over the sea. There are no words to describe how perfect this place was for us or how accommodating and kind all of the folks at YOU GET HERE were. We would 100%, absolutely book this property again. Thank you Neil, Stephen, and Claudia for the vacation of a lifetime.

Dream vacation!
Our vacation was spectacular. The house was so beautful. During our down time we lounged on the verandah overlooking the ocean or at the pool. Ideal. We booked 3 excursions through Yougethere and we had wonderful times. We would not hesitate to book it all over again!

The pictures are good, but the reality is even better. We loved our stay here. We were with another couple, and the house was perfect. The location was green and beautiful. The view out of this world. Quiet and peaceful, a very nice way to spend a few days. We were so chill we forgot which day was check out. LOL

Magical
Beyond our expectations in every way! We travelled with our adult children and it was certainly a magical place. The home is very well maintained and staff came and went without us even knowing they were there. The house is well stocked and we ordered groceries in advance; it was worth the extra money as we were arriving after dark. We left some pool floats and a pool basketball hoop so enjoy if it’s still there!!!

Property was beautiful and well cared for. Saw sloths, whales and lots of tucans. Had nightly canine company as well. The view was amazing. The rooster next door got us up at 5 every morning but the sun is already up then so it wasn't so bad. Would definitely stay here again! PURA VIDA!
