The best sunset view on San Juan Island. This spacious 2-bedroom 2-bathroom waterfront home has exactly what you need to unwind on San Juan Island. (Hoeppner's Vista) Located in Mitchell Bay, across from Snug Harbor Resort, this property is perfectly situated for a family or small group of friends looking to enjoy the Westside of San Juan Island and all of its bounty. Whales frequent Open Bay which is only a 5-minute boat ride from the property. Bring your fishing boat or rent one locally to utilize excellent summer salmon fishing and crabbing. The dock can moor power boats up to 30 feet or sail boats up to 40 feet. No shore power or water hook up. Guests on boat count towards the Maximum Occupancy of the home. This neighborhood is very quiet, quaint, and tight-knit, and neighbors will notify management if maximum number of guests is exceeded. The main level has an open floor plan so as to invite everyone to enjoy expansive views of the spectacular sunset. The fully stocked kitchen, with its open countertops, provides a spacious area to enjoy fresh caught crab or Westcott Bay oysters (Westcott Bay Oyster Farm is just a 10-minute drive from the house). Guests can enjoy a casual meal at the breakfast bar for 4, or a sit-down dinner at the Dining table for 6. The sliding glass door off the dining area leads to a deck with propane BBQ and 6-seater patio table. Enjoy a sunset drink or BBQ' d meal while enjoying the view of Snug Harbor Resort, Henry Island and Vancouver Island. (Please note, this home is not suitable for parties or large gatherings as it is located in a quiet neighborhood.) The main floor living area offers a large flat screen TV (Roku only) which is adjacent to a cozy mood setting electric fireplace with color light display. The panoramic living room windows will offer all the San Juan Island wildlife entertainment you are longing for! On the main floor you will find the primary California King bedroom with en suite bathroom. A deck off the primary bedroom offers a private entry for a secluded area overlooking the beach. The downstairs of the home offers 1 bedroom and 1 additional sleeping space, both equipped with a Queen sized bed. These two rooms share a 3/4 bathroom. The downstairs also has a second living area with a flat screen TV, as well as a foosball table. **Recommend for only highly supervised children as the deck and dock are situated close to rocks and water** Here is a website address to a local boat rental company for those interested: There is okay cell service at this property however there is a landline and Wi-Fi. This home has a mini-split heat/cool pump system in the main-level dining room/living room only. However, being on the water provides a natural air conditioner when windows are opened, and the fresh sea breeze will cool the house quickly. This is a Non-Smoking property. The internet / Wi-fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing. Internet Speed Test Results… Download Speed: 15.6 Mbps, Upload Speed: 7.27 Mbps, Ping: 69 ms (Average of three tests that were conducted January of 2022 using SpeedCheck Pro). We rented this home with my mother, my spouse and our 3 kids. It is an absolutely gorgeous home. We loved all the big windows and patio. The only downside was some minor uncleanliness with dishes - we had to rewash about 80% of the dishes as they were visibly dirty. I informed the property manager and they provided fair compensation for that. Overall, I would definitely stay again.

To start with this is the best place you could stay on San Juan Island. This was our 4th year and we hope to stay there many more times in the future. That said there are a few things that would be great if they could be upgraded. Starting with the deck outside the master bedroom, there is a cracked board that if you didnt see it and stood on it you might go through. The deck furniture is aged and the wooden table has no finish, fortunately I brought a tablecloth or it would would be smelling like crab for the next renter. They did replace the stools and are very nice. Overall it is a great place if you have a boat and want to enjoy the water. The view is amazing and for the most part the house is fine. Nothing fancy but thats not what you are paying for

Spent 3 nights at this property and appreciated the great view. However, the house shows it’s age and overall feels very tired. We noticed the windows were dirty as soon as we walked in, overshadowing the great view. The furnishings throughout the house (couches, tables, lighting fixtures, etc) seemed very worn and dated, which did not give us the experience of “relax you’re home” vibes we get from other rental properties (including those from SJPM).The hot water from the faucets had a stink the entire weekend, which made showering very unpleasant and prompted us to use bottled water for brushing teeth, drinking, etc. In the lower level of the home, there was unfinished work particularly missing baseboards on one side of the common room with patches of mismatched paint on the wall, which gave an impression that this house wasn’t fully maintained.The electrical outlets on one wall of the mater bedroom simply did not work. This included the light switches themselves as well as the outlets, which made for an awkward experience, particularly as lighting was very poor at nighttime. The screen door to the patio fell off the track, and we had no luck getting it back on. Just another example of the house feeling poorly maintained/inspected by the owner/SJPM. Overall, we were very disappointed in this house If you don’t mind an old house which is not very inviting but has a great view, this would fit the bill ideally for a spring/summer vacation. Otherwise, there are plenty of nicer options at this price range with great views.

The views were definitely the saving grace! Otherwise, the property is quite challenged. It felt like nearly everything was falling apart. The bar stools and kitchen table chairs were broken, the master toilet moved when you sat on it, the outside balcony felt like it could break if you leaned on it. The showers were small marine like showers, the bathroom towels were old and moldy, the toiletries were cheap, and there was no Kleenex. The kitchen lacked the basics and there is not a grocery store nearby. Overall, the quality was extremely disappointing for the very expensive price tag.

The sunsets were beautiful, though the sun through the windows was rather hot in the late afternoon. Still, lots of cool air came off of the water and, with open windows, we were able to cool it down before too long. Everything was comfortable but there were a lot of extra light switches for some reason so we spent a good amount of time trying to figure out which ones did anything and how to turn on and off certain lights. We also had a problem with odors in the fridge but didn't tell property management about it until our last day. They did promise to deep clean before the next guest. Overall, it was a relaxing trip and we always appreciate the professionalism and hard work of San Juan Property Management.

Pretty good, except for running out of water on the 6th day, some movies we wanted to watch you could only rent once you got past the parental code. The master bedroom could sure use a overhead fan, gets real hot in there. The davenport was uncomfortable to sit on after an hour.

Cleanliness and condition of cooking utensils unsatisfactory. The property shows a lot of wear and lack of maintenance. All it has going for it is seclusion and a great view.

My husband and I so enjoyed staying at this house. We are astonished by the solitude and quietness we experience. Such a place of rest.

Great Weekend!
Boys fishing weekend, great stay! Comfortable, large, everything we needed and having the dock for our 37foot MY was key. Fishing could have been better but we had a blast none the less. The deck was fabulous for those evening sunsets. We will definitely rent again. Thank you for having us and making it a non dramatic process
