About this house rental
"Beach Times" is located in Kure Beach and is about 1 mile from the NC Aquarium, Ft. Fisher Civil War Museum, and Kure Beach fishing pier. This is an oceanfront single family home with it's own private walkway to the beach! If you just need a couple bedrooms and enjoy the privacy and luxury feel of having your very own spaces - "Beach Times" is the house is for you! The 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath oceanfront home is perfect for a couple or small family. Both bedrooms have their own TVs and have just recently had mattresses replaced so you'll be ready for a good nights rest! The main bedroom has a Queen bed and a private half bath. The guest bedroom has 2 Twin beds. A nice full bathroom is just off kitchen area. Sliding doors lead from the kitchen and living room to a large oceanfront deck for sunbathing or outdoor dining. The kitchen, dining area, and living room are oceanfront and have nice views of the Atlantic. Don't miss the spectacular and awe inspiring sunrises while you are here! There is a private walkover to the beach and an minimalistic outdoor shower. Occupancy 6: Sat/Sat rental in Summer. Minimum three night stay other seasons. The beach was amazing and absolutely beautiful! The house was very clean on arrival. After the first night we noticed the roaches "waterbugs" come out after 9pm. All over the deck and under the house! We contacted the manager and they quickly sent out the exterminator and we thought our worries were gone.. the next night they were back on the deck and some of them migrated into the house through the air vents! The last night of staying a roach "waterbug" fell on my husbands head while sleeping and he didn't sleep the rest of the night. I would have left a 5 start rating but having to deal with the nasty roaches the whole time and so it is a 1 star rating!

The house was as advertised and very clean. We also loved the location and the view was perfect. The main suggestion I would make would be to update the bathrooms. The toilets were small and low to the floor. Great for children but not for someone that’s 6’2” with bad knees. The dates tub/shower combination could be swapped for a walk in shower. Maybe even ADA approved. To finish I’ll say that we had a great vacation experience. Thank you.

Super relaxing time on the beach for a week. Very close the the water which was great. Enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evening reading. The decorations in the house were cute and beachy. It was wonderful having everything that was needed supplied for us. Great time and place. ( Would have liked to have directions on how to use the TV remotes, there were several!!!!! I recommend an umbrella for the deck. Too hot to sit out there till the sun goes down. No shade.)

Beautiful, quiet little beach property
We really enjoyed staying at this beach house. The location was perfect for our family of five. There was space in the master bedroom for our pack and play and the house was easily baby proofed. Loved the close proximity to the beach when it was time for nap time or diaper changes. The town of Kure is so quiet and nice and the beach is beautiful and wide! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook meals.

For our small family of three, Beach Times was the perfect rental property right on the beach. The house and location had everything. We could take our 2 1/2 year old daughter easily down to the beach, where she loved building sandcastles, but not feel the strain and stress of lugging everything from a car to the sand and preparing meals for a beach day. We could walk right back up to the house if we forgot something or needed snacks/water. She also loved the local playground and we all had fun at the arcade near the pier. It was easy to go pick up food from the many restaurants in Carolina Beach, and then return to your quiet little home where we'd relax listening to the sounds of the ocean. The property is also extremely close to the Aquarium, but what really mattered is that you could tell that the owners take good care of their home. I felt like a guest instead of another traveler that they could earn rental income from. We will absolutely be returning to this wonderful home.

This is our second year and second time staying at 717 S Fort Fisher Blvd. My wife is a school teacher at a private school and they have a two week Spring break. We come to Kure Beach from Pennsylvania to get away from the winter cold and to RELAX. Kure Beach and 717 SFFB is the PERFECT place for a couple to RELAX and enjoy the deck and the waves crashing in the sunshine. The only thing the deck was missing was a table with umbrella to have meals on. We remedied that, and now there is a table, four chairs and umbrella for all to enjoy. The house is always clean and has all the cooking gadgets needed to dine in, which is what we did most days. If you are looking to get away and RELAX without any hustle and bustle, Kure Beach and 717 SFFB is the place to be.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Beach Times. I would suggest an overall upgrade, however, for the price you are charging for the rental. You could start with repairing broken items, such as the sliding deck door and the outdoor shower hose for removing sand. and putting in better-quality flooring.

It was the perfect space for us and our three year old. We loved the location and how close it is to everything we need. The only complaint would be that the sliding glass door kept wanting to stick. It was overall a wonderful vacation and we will definitely be back again and renting this same property!

Perfect location
We stayed here for a weekend getaway for my husband’s Birthday. 2 adults and our 2 children. The house was nice and the beach is right outside! The weather was horrible and cold but we still enjoyed it! I would love to come again and stay this summer to take full advantage of this perfect little beach house!

No Hustle and Bustle
If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and just want to enjoy the ocean, Kure Beach is a perfect destination. Due to Covid 19, we didn’t want to stay anywhere “busy”, and I was asked to find a “cabin by the beach”. The home at 717 Fort Fisher South fit what we were looking for to the T. It was perfect for a couple, or maybe a couple with 2 small children. Very nice, had everything we needed, and was right on the ocean with morning sunrises off the back deck that were worth waking up to. We would definitely rent this property again.

In just comparing
Kind of surprised that we had to make our own beds. There weren't even sheets on the bed. I have stayed at alot of b@b over the years and the experience here just didn't stand out.

We had an issue with a smell in the house. It smelled like chemicals that are sprayed for bugs. It was so strong we opened doors and what wi does we could get up. I had requested at least a month before our stay that they didn’t spray because I’m highly sensitive to chemicals. I called the office and explained the issue and she put me through to the property manager . He was not willing to refund our money, switch us to another property or try and clean to see if that would help. I ended up not staying in the unit the first night , we borrowed a air purifier that takes chemicals, mold, and other things out and we still had to leave early due to me getting sick. I emailed Bryant RE and told them and we still haven’t heard anything from them and it’s been 3 or 4 days now..

Suited our needs for this trip..
.. But we won't be coming back to this property. We've stayed at many beach houses, so definitely understand some things just come with the territory of rentals. The owners and /or the real estate rental company have done their best to spruce up this cottage. The kitchen is stocked well, there's ample dining seating, and there's an outdoor shower head with "private" beach access, one house away from the public beach access. It was a little to busy for us, being so covid conscious.
That is kind of it for positives. The house feels old, looks old, there's only so much sprucing up they can do. The outside AC unit looks like it's about to crumble at the slightest touch and cooled as such. It got so hot at night, our whole family couldn't sleep. How has that thing not been replaced yet? The beds felt like marble slabs, not even joking. The twin beds had mattress toppers on them. So, marble slabs with mattress toppers. To top it off, the house is infested with insects, mostly cockroaches, with a little bit of spiders and ants mixed in. Seriously, do some fumigation or tear it all down and start over.
We only stayed for 3 nights and our time was mostly spent on the beach, thank goodness. We would lost it if we stayed longer.

Great place for beach getaway
We enjoyed our time at Kure Beach. The location of this property can't be beat. We loved being right on the beach. It is small but was perfect for my husband and I and our two children. We will be back!
