The hotel and spa were wonderful. The place had just opened (early May) and was not crowded. Breakfasts on the patio overlooking the sea were prepared to order and very good. We swam and paddle boarded from the small dock. The staff were super helpful. Dinners (not included) were large and delicious. The hotel arranged a private boat tour around Ischia that left and returned to the hotel. We stopped for snorkeling and lunch at our pace - this was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Southern Italy.
It was a bit tricky to get here (this is maybe necessary for an isolated paradise!). The hotel has a recommended taxi that is narrow enough to navigate the road to the hotel. Would recommend that you don't rent your own car. To get around we walked 0.5 km to the main road and took a bus.

The location is beautiful, simple, calm, perfect for who wants to relax. The staff is really kind and nice, we were there during some calm days so sometimes we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The pools were always clean, the drinks and the food always amazing.
The shower head was a bit blocked. The thermal waters have lots of mineral so I guess thats what causes it. Other than that, all perfect.

We loved how well we were looked after by the family and staff at Vagnitiello. The food and service was amazing; we spent most of our time just laying back, dipping between the thermal pools, drinking beers and spritz and basking in the sun, watching the waves roll in.
The view of the ocean, the thermal pools, the spa facilities available and the availability of hireable transport onsite has made our entire stay so seamless, stress-free and just so enjoyable and relaxing. It’s no surprise that they have loyal customers who’ve been selecting to stay at the establishment for the last 20 years. We will definitely be back.

It is difficult to describe all the expierences about visiting a single place in one opinion. Nevertheless, if you are lazy and looking for a simple answer - then yes, I recommend this place.
This hotel is run by a wonderful family. They are super nice and helpful to every guest. It's quite cute to watch how next generations run the same place :)
The location is great, getting to the port city of Ischia takes a bit of time but is within reach of any taxi or a long walk. In our opinion, Casamiccola is as nice as the other towns on the island, so there is no real need to walk further.
The restaurant in the hotel is not the cheapest, but taking into account the size of the portions and the quality of the food, it is not a problem at all. Arguments that the service is unpleasant do not hit us at all. Everyone was always smiling and ready to help. Problems with sometimes poor knowledge of English were not a barrier. Everyone else can have a bad day, especially when it's 35-40 degrees.
We highly recommend this place - The owners, Roberta, Lucia or Valerio, have always helped us when needed :) With great pleasure we will come back here both with friends and our children - see you soon!
P.S. The only thing we missed a bit was music - play it all day long, regardless of the genre, it will definitely make your stay more pleasant.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning hotel for 3 nights, and it truly exceeded my expectations as it looks even more beautiful than the pictures!
The room was nice and clean, and the restaurant offered a wide array of delicious options. The staff were professional and super helpful, and they also offered us free pickup from the Ischia port.
The real highlights were the beautiful surroundings, and as well the swimming pools, jacuzzi, and the convenient access to the ocean. We had a great time relaxing in the heated pools and snorkeling and kayaking in the ocean.
I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely consider returning in the future!

During my stay at the hotel, there were a multitude of aspects I genuinely enjoyed. Primarily, the service was nothing short of excellent. The staff was consistently helpful, cheerful, and enthusiastic, going above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met and that our stay was as comfortable as possible. The hot pools provided an exquisite relaxation experience, adding a luxurious touch to our vacation. Another admirable feature was the cleanliness and serene beauty of the sea which added an air of tranquility to the whole experience. The hotel itself was the epitome of relaxation, an ideal destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The only hiccup, albeit minor, was the limited ability to travel within the island once you are at the hotel. This inconvenience made it somewhat challenging to explore and experience the local culture and sights. However, given the overall charm and comfort of the hotel, this was a small trade-off.

we had the best stay at this hotel! it is family run and they are very friendly, welcoming and generous!
we arrived at the port and they picked us up in what we would call a ‘tuk tuk’ (like a small motorbike taxi with seats). you will need to organise this or get a small taxi from town to arrive - a large car will not fit down the lengthy driveway.
the food was amazing! tuna salad was my favourite. and the clam spaghetti. great breakfast - eggs included!!
the rooms were clean and as described. basic but everything you need.
free access to all of the thermal spa/pool and direct access to the sea. these facilities were a little dated and run down but we still had a great time. and this is reflected in the price and star rating.

A lovely place with lovely staff and owner. Staying at a hotel with the sea and thermal pools gives you the best of both worlds. Luciano, the owner, is a very kind man who really made our stay a special one. The facilities are endless, from the numerous thermal pools, sauna, jacuzzi, and ocean with SUP board at your disposal there is always something to help you relax. The food is amazing too, top quality ingredients and fresh flavours. All this means is that you never really need to leave the resort.
The place is a little dated, some small renovations can turn it into a very high quality establishment.

We loved the direct access to swim in the sea & the natural hot spring pools. The family are so kind, friendly & make you feel at home. The quality of the food in the restaurant is excellent. Will definitely return for a couples holiday.
It's a long distance outside any main town, about 30 minute walk, you can use the public buses or taxis. Taxis are very expensive on Ischia. The public buses are cheap & regular enough. The other option is scouter or small car hire.
Their are a lot of mosquitoes, We got bitten through out the whole day, not just in the morning & evening.

The property had lots of character and the family nature of it clearly shone through. The park itself (beach club- which you have full access to) had a retro/rustic style with several thermal pools, a gym (which could be better publicised), restaurant and easy access to the beautifully clear blue/green sea. The staff were friendly however the language barrier prevented us from having a more personal experience that we saw with the Italian guests (which were the majority of guests). The park is located between Ischia Porto and Casamicciola Terme with the latter a pleasant 20 minutes walk to. The park was quiet in the week ( as this was low season) but generally busier at the weekend, creating a more vibrant atmosphere. The breakfast was fine, albeit you don’t get much choice beyond a pastry, fruit and eggs which became quite repeptative (but not unpleasant). Just a side note there are also only 6-8 rooms at this property, this is not a positive or negative, but we were unaware of this before our stay!
Though in a idyllic setting near the sea it is quite hard to access. If you come without car/bike then expect a 10/15 minute steep walk to and from the main road down to the property. They advertise a shuttle service up to the street but we did not ever see this! The walk is not for the faint hearted. we used buses to get from the property to the towns however the bus system is a little chaotic and buses are irregular and over overcrowded. The park itself could do with a revamp as some of the pools were a little tired - especially the hot tub. There were also no complentary pool towels for guests staying. The room was clean, but basic. There are few facilities (eg. no kettle / cups in the room and our towels were not changed everyday). The bathroom did have a bit of an unpleasnt odour but this may be a general ischia /property drains problem as opposed to specifically our room. However overall it was a clean and simple room.

It's a delightful family run place where everyone was cheerful and made us feel comfortable. The food was exceptional and we love the landscape and the baths. I would have liked some of the other rooms which were higher up on the cliff with better views, but then ours came with a semi private jacuzzi on our patio which we loved.
It's a bit of a walk to get to the bus stop, but both times we got to hitch a ride from the hotel buggy, which saved us the walk. Very kind of the owner to coordinate this for us.
The hotel also offers boat trips for guests operated by Airbabo, they pick you up from the hotel jetty which saves you having to go to the port. The skipper, Mario is an excellent sailor, we encountered huge terrifying waves but he steered us safely and we felt we were in good hands.
As I said above, it is a long narrow road to get into the hotel, so if you return to the hotel in a regular taxi, they wont be able to drive you all the way in, only a small 3 wheeled taxi can, and there aren't many of these. A small issue if you don't mind walking a bit.

I had the loveliest stay all thanks to the wonderful and generous hosts - thank you Roberta and family! Even though it was the end of the season and quiet, everything was excellent: the room, the sea views, the food at the restaurant. It was so relaxing to go from the warm pool, to swimming in the sea, to the sauna or jacuzzi. I loved how it felt tucked away from town, but was only about a ~5 minute walk to the main road where there is a bus stop that can get you anywhere on the island. I also appreciated how comfy the mattress and pillows were, that’s not always the case in Italy. Wifi was spotty in my room, but it was very fast (30+ mbps) in the restaurant and other common areas. This was not a negative for me since I was on vacation, but just making a note for any nomads who may be tempted to work here with the sea views.

O'Vagnitiello was like staying with very good friends, they offered us the best of their kitchen, their toys, and all of what they had. Multiple free drinks from out of nowhere, kayaks, sups, multiple pools, sauna, whirlpool all at no extra charge. Go here and you will not be disappointed.
Even in mid October the weather was still fantastic! Shorts and tanks everyday.

The location is great: you swim in the sea and then (in 10 steps) go to the thermal baths or sauna. There are just few people during the park closure time (before 9 a.m. and after 17 p.m.). Great view to the sea and Vezuvio. Great breakfasts. Tasty cuisine: each day you may discuss your wishes with a chef and get it for dinner. The staff deserved the highest marks: all of them are very friendly and helpful. Special great thanks for Luciano for the great see excursion and many other things: like welcome bottle of vine, free transfer, friendly chat etc. We are very pleased and positively impressed with this stay.
Wi-fi on some places is quite week, but what's the matter: enjoy the nature instead of the digital world.
