About this house rental

• Accommodation in 2 x 3 bedroom architect designed eco-cottages and Studio • 5 bathrooms • Use of Lodge for dining, cooking and relaxing • Wood burning fireplaces • Valley views from nearby clifftop walk • Exclusive use of tennis court and walking tracks Kanimbla View Clifftop Retreat is located on one of the most beautiful properties in the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, just 90 minutes from Sydney. Surrounded on three sides by unspoilt Crown bushland, you feel like you are staying in your own private National Park. Yet you are only 3 minutes away from beautiful Blackheath village. The Guardian has featured Kanimbla View as one of the 30 "best green places to stay around the world" -- and the only one in Australia. Kanimbla View is one of only 7 eco-retreats to be featured in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Weekend 52 Weekends Away 2014. Kanimbla View offers stylish, distinctive and comfortable accommodation -- from budget to eco-luxury. We cater for couples, families and groups of up to 18. Groups (minimum 12) are accommodated in our two three-bedroom eco-cottages (two bedrooms in each can be configured as Kings or singles, the third bedroom contains a double and single bed), and Studio which is one large room with a Queen Futon and 3 single beds. Couples or families requiring a single cottage should contact the owners for a quote. The retreat is ideal for holidays, celebrations, conferences and yoga retreats. It also has an all-weather tennis court, boules pitch and 1.5 km of walking tracks. There really is peace in this place. Getting out and about On the retreat itself you can play tennis, basketball or table tennis under a cathedral of gum trees. You might wander down to the boules/petanque area for a quiet game, or sit out on the heath deck and just drink in the distant views. But most importantly you will want to explore our walking tracks and make your way down to your own private clifftop lookouts on our escarpment. With the aid of our maps and leaflets you can get to know a bit more about how this fragile environment can support such an abundance of plants and animals. Beyond the retreat If you want to go further afield than the retreat, then we are only 3 minutes away from Blackheath's excellent cafes, restaurants, galleries and bakeries. Another 5 minutes and you will find yourself at the doorstep to the Greater Blue Mountains National Park. The park offers some wonderful lookouts and walking tracks. But just a few minutes away from the retreat you can discover some equally inviting walks and views around Porter's Pass and Centennial Glen. Beyond Blackheath you might take in a great film at Mt Victoria's welcoming, old-fashioned cinema at Mt Vic Flicks. Further west lie the Jenolan Caves. To the east you can explore more of the Blue Mountains bordering charming villages like Leura or Wentworh Falls.

A group of 13 of us stayed at this wonderfully quirky property. The hosts were wonderful, Nigel greeted us and gave us the rundown on how it all worked, then stepped back and allowed us to enjoy. The kitchen was well appointed and worked well for us. Beds were comfortable and warm. The cottages were well appointed. Thanks Nigel and Tony.

The property was great for getting a true feeling for the Blue Mountains, the bush, wonderful scenery and walking tracks. The accommodation was good for a big family group of 18, with just one disappointment about the beds in the third ‘house’! Overall, a great stay and beaut place to celebrate with family.

The place was amazing/beautifully maintained, was great to have so much space for a large group with the tennis court and cottages. As well as being able to spend the evenings in the lodge. Nigel was great at explaining everything/welcoming us and we ended up having a very relaxed getaway for the weekend.

Honestly this place is heaven. The owners really go above and beyond making you feel super comfortable. The place has everything you could need and so much more. The kitchen, wow it is HUGE and AMAZING !! Has everything you could possible need to cook up a storm. Fully stocked. We were told we could take our time checking out and we didn't need to rush out, which was really lovely and sweet. Thank you for an amazing experience. Can't wait to do it again!! We are all obsessed with your beautiful garden and colourful flowers.

Fabulous for a group
Fabulous for a group
What a great property for a group wanting together time, but also to be able to sneak off for a nap! We loved hanging out in the common lodge area, warm and toasty with the fires, and the kitchen was great for a crowd cook-up. Nigel greeted us and told us all we needed to know for a great longweekend!

Nigel was always quick to reply to questions etc. After months of rain there were damp tracks to be avoided. But the connections between the cabins and the community lodge were dry and lit at night. All cabins were warm as comfy. Fabulous commercial kitchen with fast dishwasher. Individual cabins allowed for getting away from the crowd. Short and long walks close at hand.
