Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley in the LaGrange/Hopewell Junction area of Dutchess County, this 20-acre country estate, on 20 flat acres of what was a former horse farm and reclaimed barn, is an idyllic getaway just 70 miles north of New York City. This estate is a 5 bedroom home with modern amenities, in what was a reclaimed barn, has a pool, a barn and separate garage. This house is in the beautiful Covered Bridge neighborhood and conveniently located right off the Taconic Parkway, a few miles from Vassar College and just 75 miles north of NYC, making it perfect as either a family home or a weekend getaway. It's a large family house ideal for gathering with a newly renovated kitchen and dining area, with state of the art appliances (Viking range/oven, Sub-Zero fridge) and a new dining table and banquette that can seat up to 15 easily. Two decks look out to an expansive lawn and pool and are perfect for summer barbeques. There are 3 separate bedroom suites (each with a bathroom) and two large kids bedrooms making the house the perfect family home. There is also a home office with high-speed internet perfect for remote work or school for the whole family. The house can easily sleep up to 12 guests, ideally comprised of 6 adults (3 couples, each with an en suite bedroom/bathroom) and young children who enjoy sleeping together in a large room with twin beds and bunk beds. One can enjoy the use of the large swimming pool with diving board and also a house golf cart to explore the property! Covid-safety measures and cleaning practices have been implemented so that every surface has been disinfected. Located just 9 Miles from the Vassar College campus, the location makes this home perfect for graduation week or Parents' Weekend. Marist College, the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and the historic Roosevelt Mansion is just a few miles away. The Hudson River is a 20 minute drive and the boomtown of Beacon NY and modern art museum, DIA Beacon, is also a 20 minute drive down the Taconic State Parkway. Rhinebeck and Millbrook are within a half an hour's drive. This family-owned property is very private and relaxing. 20 serene acres - have a softball game in the yard. A 56" flat screen TV is equipped with HBO, SHOWTIME and STARZ movie channels as well as many sports packages. Free WIFI as well. The heated pool has a small diving board and the upstairs rooms are wide open and perfect for lots of kids. We also provide several gaming systems as well as the use of the family golf cart. It's serene year-round. Thanksgiving is such a beautiful time in the Hudson Valley and the trees that surround the property will be gorgeous fall colors. Ideal for the owners would be families who can make extended stays. Possibly taking the house for the summer months or the fall or spring semester. A very smart, responsive and capable property manager and handyman are managing the property and can answer any questions and handle any repairs or issues that might come up. The Storm King Art Center is nearby and the new Auberge Wildflower Farm hotel and restaurant are wonderful additions to the Hudson Valley for a beautiful farm-to-table meal. Splashdown Beach is a water park with fun slides and rides and a wave pool, located just 20 minutes away for summer fun. The Dutchess County Fair is always the last week of August. And there are many NY county fairs that occur throughout the summer along with music festivals. The beautiful Mohonk Inn is nearby. The Hudson Valley is an amazing place to explore....enjoy!

We had a great stay with 4 adults, 6 kids, and one grandparent. The house is packed with play-areas and games for kids - huge outdoor space with fun toys - and a great pool that everyone enjoyed. It's a beautiful custom house with ultra-modern appliances. Highly recommended if you're in the area with a large group

We rented this house for our extended family of 6 adults, (2) 5 year olds and a small dog.
I have rented numerous houses and this is far and away the best I have ever stayed in. Let me elaborate:
The house was immaculate. Everything was exactly as pictured and presented. There was so much room for everyone. The kitchen is beautiful and a pleasure to cook in. The rooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. And the toys for the children…there are so many no need to bring your own. If you enjoy vintage arcade games and shooting hoops indoors this house has it.
Now to the pool-it too was clean with pool noodles. I asked if there were floats for the 5 year olds ( their request) and the owner said she would be sure to get 2 for them. When we arrived, to the children’s delight there were 2 floats! The poolside bathroom was a real plus with small children.
That is indicative of the kind of person the owner is. Thoughtful, kind and very responsive. She checked in with me numerous times to ensure I didn’t need anything or have any questions. Whenever I messaged her she responded very quickly.
And last but not least is the golf cart to ride around the 20 acres. If you’re lucky as you drive around you may see a bunny or a gopher/ groundhog (not sure which it was). In summary this is an oasis that I high recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week and wished we could have stayed longer! The home is beautiful, very clean, and plenty of space. We had 6 adults (3 couples) and 5 children ages 9 and younger and the layout was perfect for us. The kids were thrilled with the 3rd floor - there were so many toys and lots of space for them to play. The arcade game and golf cart were also a huge hit. The pool is very well maintained and the water was a perfect temperature, we were able to swim every day. Our dog and kids loved running around the huge yard. The property is private yet still close to a grocery store and restaurants, it’s a great location. The owner is also very kind and responsive. We had one or two very minor issues and she responded to my texts immediately. I can’t say enough good things about this property. We are already thinking about dates to return next summer!

This house if fabulous and the owner is wonderful to deal with. The newly renovated kitchen is amazing. The three master suites suited our family perfectly. The kids loved the large bunk room upstairs and the abundance of toys. The pool is wonderful, as well.
All in all, the house exceeded our expectations and the owner was very responsive. We will be back!

We loved everything about our stay. The house was excellent. The layout was perfect for children and adults and the house was very well stocked. The grounds were amazing and the use of the gold cart was a bonus! The pool area was very well maintained and the pool itself was gorgeous and the perfect temperature. The house is very well located and is just a few minutes drive to a supermarket, coffee shop, bakery and wine shop. Everything is on your doorstep. Communication with the owner was efficient and helpful. We are really looking forward to staying here again.

Hillside Lake Property best VRBO in Hudson Valley
First of all this property was totally spotless when we arrived. Every bathroom sparkled, every bedroom smelled clean, the kitchen too was spotless like every other room, something the owners take seriously.
The location of the property is esthetically beautiful and quiet, surrounded by a large field for dogs and kids to run off energy, woods that allowed for glimpses of playful fox kits and an occasional deer. There's a lot privacy amongst its many acres. The property's long driveway allows for children to ride bikes and scooters, shoot hoops and fly kites in the field. We loved Hopewell Junction with its rural feel and many local interests in Dutchess County. Ling was very attentive and responsive to all my questions at every turn.
The House itself is interesting in design and stunningly beautiful inside. Great care was taken to preserve old beams and floors from the original structure. The design flow inside is perfect for multigenerational families. The huge master bedroom with its kingsize bed, lots of light, and fully updated marble shower with many amenities was fully appreciated. Grandma and Grandpa loved the fact it allowed for quiet from the hub of activity when needed. Other family members loved bedrooms with queen size beds and private ensuite bathrooms. The upstairs playroom was filled with toys that our grandchildren loved. They felt very safe sleeping in the pink room upstairs with mom and dad at bottom of stairs. The large main living room allowed for everyone to sit at day's end and enjoy each others company.
The house and the kitchen is the best stocked VRBO we've stayed, and we've stayed in many. Our family loves to cook and this kitchen was not only more than fully stocked, the layout allowed for adults to work and converse together while prepping meals which was awesome! The dining room had plenty of space to move from kitchen to table and back. The counter space in the kitchen was more than sufficient to hold groceries and miscellaneous items we brought. There are plenty of outlets throughout the house for charging phones and electronics.
I must also comment on the outdoor center of summer excitement, the most amazing outdoor pool a VRBO could have which was super clean. Adults loved it too! The two decks and umbrellas were enjoyed immensely each day.
We're grateful to have found this VRBO, and decided to make it our yearly vacation home moving forward, we're all thrilled!

Wedding House
This was the perfect family house as we gathered for my daughter’s wedding nearby. Grandkids loved the incredibly equipped 3rd floor, the video games, the pool, and riding the golf cart (with a parent). Fireflies galore—what a novelty since we don’t have them on the West coast! The comfort of this house was exceptional! And the owner was such a delight!

Great Space
My family wanted a space where we could be together, without being on top of each other, and we found that in this updated farmhouse. The heated pool was enjoyed very much (and Ling was able to have her maintenance contact turn up the temperature for us the very next morning following our request when the weather temperature took a dip). The upstairs blue bedroom with all the toys was also a big success with the toddlers. If my family looks to make this trip an annual one, I would not be surprised if we return to the farmhouse again. Any concerns we had were met with a sincere response from Ling about improving the property for future stays. There was some initial issue with the digital key access, but a few attempts later and we were in.

Rare gem that is even better than the pictures
Amazing place, lots to do for the whole family and dogs. Tons of toys for the kids and lots of adult/family games for the adults. Plus the great pool, just don't forget strong sunblock! This house has the best stocked kitchen of a vacation rental I've every seen. Plan for a morning with waffles, great waffle maker (make ahead batter w/yeast is the best). Also Zoe's ice cream barn is about 5 mins away and can't be missed. Ling was great with communication and able to answer any questions we had v quickly. Great find, hope we will be back!

Excellent family home
Everything is great about this property: good location for exploring Hudson River Valley, superb facility with lots of bedrooms and beds, great well-stocked kitchen, beautiful setting, nice swimming pool, supermarket close by. It is superlative in all categories. Works well for multiple families with lots of kids. Owner/manager is very responsive. I can't rate this more highly.

Just What we needed!
My family and I stayed at this property for 12 days and it was just perfect for what we needed. Plenty of space, location was in close proximity to stores, nice and quiet, clean, and plenty of toys for our 3 year old and so many fun games! Thank you for opening your home to us- we couldn't of asked for better accommodations!

We attended a family wedding in the area and this home was perfect for three generations of a family to stay comfortably. There was plenty of room to spread out. The home was well appointed, the beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed.

Great house for a big family
The house was very clean. The bedding and towels were fabulous. Big pool. Kitchen was big enough for several people cooking at once. Livingroom big and comfortable for our entire extended family. Several of us had to work and there was enough room for all three of us to have an "office". We had a great time. Thank you Ling. We hope to return next year.
Only thing missing was a blender but we survived lol. Oh and wine glasses....we left you 4.

Great Property & Owner
This place has everything you need. Located close to major roads and yet feels secluded. Very clean with all the amenities you could ask for (heated pool, bikes, kites, golf cart, game room etc.). The owner was very responsive and proactively reached out to us to make sure our stay was comfortable. 5 stars.

This home was very large and spacious. It was very clean and perfect for our family vacation. The pool was great and the home was location a very nice, quiet neighborhood. The home had lots of amenities and we had a very nice stay. The owner was also wonderful to deal with and immediately responded to any questions! Thank you!

We made full use of the kitchen as it was well equipped with everything for family meals. Grocery store was very close. Would certainly recommend this property the photos don't do it justice.

The house is in a beautiful are in a somewhat country setting. As you arrive you can see there is plenty of parking and you are surrounded by greenery. The house itself was immaculate and no need for my group to lift a finger.
I don't know who is responsible for the buying of the linens but they are as luxurious as the finest hotels. There were also plenty of them and beach towels in the laundry room for the guests. No need to bring any of your own. That also applies to abundance of soap products for the laundry and dishwasher. Ditto for every shower having shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Leave all that home, you won't need it.

Every day we were learning new things about the property. The second day, we realized the door past the washer/dryer was to the garage which had the golf carts/bikes. One one of the days, we saw white horses over the bushes on the other side of the property. The third day we learned that the doors next to the pool house had pool toys (we brought our own and had been playing with this). The other pool house door had a bathroom which is very convenient.
There are many attractions in the area we were able to enjoy: Strawberry picking @ Fishkill farms, Visiting Alpacas @ Clover Brooke, Walk Over Hudson, and visiting Storm King. It allowed us to appreciate the Hudson Valley and Upstate NY even more!
I also highly recommend using 'Simone Private Chef Services' to cook a dinner for a night or more. This helps support a local black owned chef company. The Hudson valley has a Culinary school in the area. Our fave meals were the Carribbean and Jamaican food (oxtail, fried green tomatoes w/ Monkfish stew, smothered chicken, collard greens w/ turkey, cheese n brocolli cornbread, juevos rancheros w/ chorizo hash, turkey sausage and belgian waffles).
Throughout the week, there are people helping to maintain the properly. Ling is also very responsive so you are in good care. If you are coming with a small baby, I highly recommend bringing a portable high chair to make it easier. Our family had a wonderful time and made many good memories!

Perfect Family Gathering Place
There were 10 of us at the house. It is big and beautiful with lots of room to visit and play. We used the heated pool every day. The water temperature was perfect. The kitchen and dining area were popular gathering spots, as was the back deck. The house is well equipped with everything you need, and LOTS of toys. The only issue is that the only bathrooms with showers or tubs are in the bedrooms. So, we just had to coordinate bath time for those sleeping upstairs. It was a fantastic place to get our family all together for the first time in 30 years.

Great place to hold a family reunion
This house was a great place for us to hold a family reunion for our 50th wedding anniversary! It is well equipped with everything you would ever want or need. Outside of bringing food in, there really is no need to leave the property. The house has something for everyone, from little kids to adults, and with that come loads of memories for everyone. We all had great fun with the golf cart and the pool provided welcome relief from the 90+ degree weather. One of the most important things for us was that Ling and John were extremely helpful and responded to every question promptly and professionally. This helped smooth the edges to create an exceptional experience!

Great Place
Our family and dogs had a great time here. We enjoyed the snow. Tons of games and room to play. The owner was very quick answering questions. I wish there was a map of the property so we could have explored more while knowing we weren't on someone else's land.
