My family and i stayed at the moretown home over mlk weekend. When we arrived around 3:20pm, we discoved that there was no heat on in the home and it was very cold inside. We searched around a bit to see if we could rectify the situation ourselves. With no luck, we called the vacasa number provided. I spoke to the customer service rep who basically just took my message. He said someone would be in contact with me shortly. After about a half an hour or so with no call back, i called again. Same thing where the rep just took my message. We were basically stuck waiting (in the cold) for someone to call back. We couldn't leave the property. Finally, about 5:15pm, we got a call back from who i can guess was the property manager. He instructed us to go in the basement. We didn't think we would have access to the basement since the door to it had a coded lock. But we tried the doorknob and, luckily, it opened. After being on the phone with him for about 10 mins or so, he helped us figure out what the problem was and we were able to turn the heat on. Apparently someone had turned off the main switch to the furnace system which was high above the staircase to the basement (not near the actual furnace at all). We were not very happy that this delayed the start of our vacation. I also noticed that there was a pack of cigarettes left on one of book shelves. I felt this was incredibly inappropriate since we had our children with us. Also, i thought this was a smoke free rental... In addit

I booked this place for 4 nights for a family of 6 plus two dogs. We arrived later in the evening and the house was not at all easy to find. My suggestion would be to put up reflective numbers on the mailbox as a start. The driveway and the walkway to the front door were covered in ice. As this is a safety hazard, especially at night, I’d imagine this should’ve been taken care of prior to our arrival. When we entered the home, both smoke detectors were going off. The one on the main floor and one on the second floor. Luckily the one on the main floor was at a reachable height. The other was not. This was when our family had the pleasure of meeting the homeowner. I’d like to preface that there are two entities involved. The homeowner, who lives next door, and Vacasa who is the property management agency. The issues we have has nothing to do with the homeowner, but instead with Vacasa. The homeowner provided us with a ladder to shut off the smoke detector. After finally shutting down the smoke detectors, my family did an initial sweep of the house and there were a few major issues that left us pretty disappointed. One of the more major issues was that we found mouse droppings all over the kitchen as well as the utensil drawers. In addition, there were copious insects found in the bedrooms and bathroom throughout our stay, and cobwebs all over the ceilings. There was hair in the bathroom drain and no shades. Otherwise the house was very comfortable and provided a lot of ammenit

Such a calm and quiet place for us to use as a home base while we hit up some of the best mountain biking in Vermont. Even on a somewhat rainy day a walk along the road was pretty amazing. Great spot!

We had a wonderful stay. The porch and kitchen window have an amazing view of the mountains and forest. Location is outstanding with so much to explore near by. We highly recommend this spot.

We loved this house! It was close to all our favorite vacation spots in Waitsfield and Warren. It had conveient parking out front. Flat driveway and easy access to the front of house. Good entrance for anyone with issues walking or elderly. We took a daily hike up the street, very woody and beautiful surroundings. They weed watched a trail down to the brook behind the house ( at your own risk, very wet and steep but beautiful). The house is huge and very comfortable to entertain. We had our extended family visit, cooked and played games. Back deck has table chairs and hammock. The bathroom upstairs is slippery when wet and toilet located in shower area ( not good for elderly or those with mobility issues). There is no outside grill, washer dryer or A/C. But we loved it and we will go back. Owners and son very accommodating and friendly.

Central to so many things and the owner is very helpful if needed. Lots of room and plenty of places to explore either walking in the rural roads or a short drive.

We had a wonderful stay at the Backyard Bungalow. It far exceeds the pictures. Fred, the host, does live next door, and it is ver close, but it was never a privacy issue. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed my talks with Fred. I would not hesitate to stay again. The brook is gorgeous and a five minute walk down a steep, but manageable hill.

We spent four nights at this lovely, cozy home as part of our annual Sister’s Trip. Everything was exactly as pictured on the VRBO listing. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. We especially loved the bedrooms with their high beamed ceilings…so cozy! The location was perfect for access to the Mad River Valley towns (Waitsfield, Warren, etc.) and Route 100. Overall a wonderful experience!

We stayed for a weekend here. The place was very good. Clean, spacious, good furniture, comfortable beds (even the sofa bed is fairly comfortable) and plenty of parking space for 2 cars. It is expensive but I think almost all properties around this area are that expensive. There is another property next to this one (fairly away from this property that you can enjoy the privacy) so it felt secure.

Nice secluded place. Very spacious and serene. Mainly needing more bath and hand towels and rags for both bathrooms and kitchen useage for a 4 night stay.

The home I stayed in was very. Bird feces, dust, dirt, dead bugs everywhere. Bathtub had mold in the jets. This house has some serious health and safety concerns. After fighting for a refund for nearly 2 weeks I was offered less then 1/3 of what I paid for my “inconvenience”. I was hoping to take some pictures in the house for my wedding because the pictures looked beautiful but the balcony outside the master bedroom was covered in dirt, leaves, dead bugs, and TONS of bird feces. Incredibly disappointed when I saw the condition of the home because it has incredible potential. Hope the home is cleaned properly next time. Pictures listed are VERY misleading.

We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay in this home. It is centrally located between Stowe and Warren. We took in a couple days of skiing at nearby Sugarbush, went snow shoeing, enjoyed dinner out in Stowe, and drove to Burlington for some shopping. All of our needs at the house were provided for. Highly recommend, and we will be back! Thanks!

House and beds were comfortable and well located with beautiful views. There was a dried (permanent?) stain on the stairs and some of the dishes and pots in the cabinets were dirty, though. Housekeeping had done a great job though, wouldn’t have expected them to go through every dish/pot in the cabinets. Would love to stay again

We had a wonderful weekend at The Yellow House with our children and 2 dogs. The fireplace was great to come home to after a day on the slopes with all of the comforts of home. Bring pods if you’re a coffee drinker, and a hair dryer if you use one. We would definitely come back!

Easy process to reserve, great location, and overall a comfortable house. Nice gas fireplace and comfy recliner chairs. The kitchen was not "full" as described, and with a little attention to users' needs it could be. For example, there was no vegetable peeler, cheese grater, coffee maker for more than 2 cups, or any basic spices. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was good, but the bath towels barely covered adult bodies. The jacuzzi wasn't working and we appreciate the refund on that amenity. The description should indicate that there are levels or steps within the main bathroom that need to be navigated, which is a very unusual set-up. Lastly, we didn't notice in the description that there are no laundry machines--so this may be a good thing to emphasize, along with the information for the laundromat in Waterbury.

The space was nice, the beds were comfortable, and we all had a great time. The kitchen had salt and pepper, but was missing other essentials like cooking oil, sugar, spices, etc. The jets in the jacuzzi tub didn’t work, and even though the windows were all facing the woods, some shades or curtains would have been nice.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and thought the location was great - 10-15 minutes from a few small towns as well as 20-30 minutes from Stowe, Montpelier, and Burlington.
While the house did have some necessary items like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and hand soap, it lacked that really nice homey feeling some of the other rentals I've stayed in.
One negative for us was the bathroom. In order to get to the toilet, you have to walk through the shower which was often wet from use. Major design flaw.
Overall, we enjoyed our time, the location and Vermont.

We were there for a wedding at Sleepy Hollow Inn in Huntington, with events also happening in Burlington, both of which were about 40 minutes away. We also wanted to visit Stowe, and see friends in Montpelier, so the location was great.
The house was comfortable (except for the futon mattress), with a nice deck where we could sit and hear a running stream.
The lock box was a bit hard to get into - could use a new one.
Overall, a lovely weekend.
