Lovely and cute

The breakfast supplied was bountiful with boiled eggs, a selection of meat, croissants and cereals just to name a few of the items. John was a lovely host throughout the stay, offering to buy more breakfast items but there was more than plenty already. The area was very peaceful and relaxing, and a convenient location being only a 10min drive from Saffron Walden. My partner and I loved our stay and will be looking to book for next year!

Totally lived up to expectations, Great place and great value for money.

Reception very friendly and helpful. Facilities more than expected. Breakfast A1 and more. Very comfortable and clean. Shower hose needs a mild scrub. Recommend and will certainly stay again. .

The attention to detail. Toiletries. Stocked kitchen facilities. The owners even helping us by loaning their camping chairs and picnic blanket for the concert we were attending. We were even given a cake and bottle of fizz for my brothers 60th!!

We loved everything about it.

Beautiful grounds, garden, surroundings. Room was nicely decorated and well equipped. Very good choice for breakfast. Ideal location for visiting Audrey End and Saffron Walden.

Friendly welcome, comfortable place very well equipped with plenty of breakfast options and some self catering facilities.. Kindly allowed us to arrive slightly early for a wedding

The only issue is the remote location. It was good for the wedding we were attending but be careful if you need a taxi. We were charged £36 for the 10 mins ride to collect our car on a weekday morning. The host kindly offered to give us a lift but sadly the taxi was en route! by then

Very generous amount of refreshments provided, quiet and comfy, enclosed garden for dog and footpath nearby to lovely walks.

A wonderful location to enjoy peace & beauty in the countryside. Self-service breakfast consisted of an excellent choice of cereals, fruit, cheese & ham, boiled eggs, coffee/tea etc. that could be eaten in a well-equipped ensuite kitchen/dining room or weather permitting, outside on the terrace. Good sized bedroom & bathroom, nicely decorated and very clean. Perfect!!

Excellent property, a friendly warm welcome with two beautiful cottage style accommodation. well presented and clean with everything you need to make the stay comfortable.

The host was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast provisions were very generous.

The kitchen was a little on the small side, though very well kitted out, and if you’re over 6ft like me you have to mind your head, but that’s all.

Such a beautiful little cottage with lovely hosts. Super dog friendly including an enclosed garden for our roo to run around in.

We didn't have enough time to really relax and enjoy the place, due to it only being a flying visit and place to sleep.

more food that I could contemplate eating and happy for cater for different diets, John was super welcoming and I felt instantly at home. I love the space and location couldn 't have been better

Gorgeous little cottage in a peaceful environment. Spotlessly clean, and full of delightful surprises. The breakfast is ready in the kitchen, which was a wonderful solution, when had to leave at early hours to catch plane. 20 minutes from Stansted airport, it was a very convenient location.

The only regret is that we did not choose to stay longer.

Beautiful, cosy cabin with snacks & essentials galore. Highly recommend. Wish we had stayed more than one night.

The history of the property was amazing just what a English country stay is all about great location to do the park and ride into cambridge the hosts were very helpful and the amount of food given in the cottage was well above expectations close to a town if you wanted to go into town for dinner

It's very cute little house with everything needed. The house is very clean. It is about 20 min from the airport.

Absolutely beautiful, perfection.

More than met my needs for my singing weekend in nearby Thaxted. Comfortable mini-cottage to stay in with plenty of space. Lovely garden and surrounding fields. Generously stocked fridge for evening drinks, DIY breakfast and more.

Lovely property with lots of lovely extras left in the kitchen and fridge :)It has everything you need for your stay! John & Joan were wonderful hosts and even knocked on with a little gift to say thank you for booking with them.

amazing historical building, comfy bed amazing selection of breakfast food. went above and beyond for my Dog Bertie who very appreciated it all also.

Nothing I didn't like.

We loved everything about our stay. The cottage is super warm and comfy, you feel like better than in a 5 stars hotel!!! White linen and towels and robes. The attention to detail of Joan and John is out of this world, with plenty of fresh food. They left for my partner gluten free options of everything and even all kind of dog food for our Queen. They left a birthday cake for me and a card... The area is fantastic with very nice hikes to do around the house. Saffron is a cute village with a very nice local market on Saturday, worth the visit!
