It checks off all the boxes, and worked for our family. Needed a few things fixed/replaced. Could use some simple upgrades to bring it into the 21st century. For that reason alone I thought the price was a little steep, hence the rating…

When compared to the listing, the reality of this property is; it appears to of had no recent inspection by the rental company and as a result the property is becoming derelict. The master is an example I can speak on, since I stayed in it. The bed support is broken, causing the bed to slump. Master heater is loud and needs repaired. Master bath exhaust fan is inoperable. There are inadequate covering on master window and no window covering in master and downstairs bath, very concerning! Parents please, search the house prior to letting your children stay in the rooms. One bathroom had a half empty beer can and the master had a joint on the night stand. In the bunk room closet, there is trash and broken debris. The kitchen table is broken and sagging. The kitchen drawers are mostly broken and the internet is inadequate/ not in working order.

Our experience with this rental was rather horrible. We've seen the online reviews of the house and they are very untrue and misleading--a clear attempt by a marketing firm for the purpose of portraying a positive picture of a rental that should be off the market. The house was old, in need of maintenance and repair, and not well-equipped at all. 8 adults resided there during our stay. We could only imagine the horror if seven others (the house sleeps 15!!) had joined us, as we had originally planned. There were minimal areas to place our clothes (five of us placed our suitcases on the floor, with no place to them them--there was no garage, game room, etc.). The refrigerator was very small with no icemaker or ice cube trays. The floors were uneven, extremely squeaky, and the rug in the dining room turned up at the edges which caused us to trip several times. The remotes were a nightmare. Thankfully one of us took trips to the North Store to purchase AA and AAA batteries, which allowed for some television viewing. Among other items for comment is your liability. The hot tub being three feet high, had no method of getting in or out. The new upper deck had three boards that did not reach the joists. There is a sharp item sticking out from one of the (old and uncomfortable) couches which scraped my granddaughter's foot. The two bath tubs, used for showering, had no non-slip matting and several of us slipped. I urge you to take this rental off the market.

We were disappointed with the condition of the house. There was AC on the second floor, but no AC on the first floor. The area rug in the dining room was curled at the corners making it a tripping hazard where several people did trip over it. The rug in the living room, stairs, and second floor was extremely dirty and stained.

The house was very spacious for all of us. Inside and outside. We loved that it included SHARC passes, the big dinning table for our large group, the nice picnic tables on the porch.. overall, we loved Sunriver, but were very disappointed with a few major things that needed maintenance in the house. First, we were notified the bbq grill was out of order -a problem because we had planned our meals ahead and were counting on having the grill available. Thankfully, management handled that quickly and brought a replacement. Then, we arrived there to find a repair person working on the hot tub. No notice from management on this one. Hot tub was repaired the next afternoon, so it was unusable for us for half of the time we stayed there. Also, our group had a medium size dog (allowed with a small fee, that we paid). The pet area had a sliding door to the outside and a gate to the inside, toward kitchen/living area. This would’ve been the perfect set up if either had worked... the gate was broken and the slider didn’t lock. We had to make do with a stick in the track of the sliding door and rope to tie the gate closed. It made some people in our group uneasy to leave our belongings in the house knowing that door wasn’t locked properly. And last but not least, the A/C issue. This house doesn’t have central AC. It has a portable A/C unit in one of the bedrooms and 3 mini split A/C units for the rest of the house. None downstairs. We had mid 90° F weather so the house got very warm. On our last night there, 2 of the mini splits were not working properly. (Would turn off after a few minutes). We tried several things, to no avail and contacted management who offered some troubleshooting via text. It was late and since it was our last night there we decided we didn’t want another service person to come. Especially at that time. We woke up the next morning to wet carpet in the hallway because one of the units had leaked. It was all very disappointing and frustrating. Management was informed of all of these issues as they happened. On our way home, I contacted their office once more and gave a summary of all the issues we encountered to one of their staff at the coast office (Lincoln City?) and she apologized again and again but no price adjustments or credits were ever made. As I said, we loved Sunriver and we will return, for sure. We will just have to find a different place to stay!!

We stayed at the cedar cove cabin. It was a fine cozy cabin to stay in for a few nights. The cleanliness was lacking however and we noticed a few very unsafe things in the house: rickety chairs that even fell completely apart when we sat on them, and the most dangerous was metal sticking out of a electrical socket in the kitchen by the garbage can. This was low enough for kids to accidentally touch and extremely dangerous. As for the cleanliness…there was garbage strewn around the outside of the house as well as lots of grime on lots of surfaces and some dirty towels hanging up. We managed fine and did had a good weekend, however these are things that will make us not book with the Meredith Lodging again.

Arriving to the home, we found all heating off and entering into 55 degrees. Pictures on website use filters, as everything was much more worn, much older and more outdated than shown. Kitchen cabinets were dirty and many of the utensils/plates/cups/bowls were put away with particles of food stuck on them and stacked while wet - so mold was evident. Drawers did not shut completely in kitchen- & we found this was much more of a rustic cabin type home than a resort vacation home. SHARC passes were wonderful and we all enjoyed the pool! The house’s hot tub was clean and very enjoyable! The location in the neighborhood was beautiful, but we are feeling this home must be one of the oldest ones- would have loved a wood burning fireplace as theVRBO marketing picture shows- but it was electric (and thankfully cranked out some wonderful heat).

Twelve extended family members and two dogs enjoyed the ambiance of the family friendly home. We have a mini-tradition of making a winter weekend trek to Sunriver. Two families recently acquired fur Bavaria and thus, this was the perfect place for us to feel at home and for the two fur pets to get acquainted, the neighborhood was friendly and the playground within easy walking distance. I must confess to a morning mocha addiction and that, too was accommodated by a coffee place open at 6 for us early (pet parent) people. Highly recommend this place.
