Situated in Perth, this lovely cottage for $247 per night is a great choice for your next break. HILLBORNE COTTAGE is a self-contained two bedroom cottage in the beautiful Perth Hills at Sawyers Valley. Hillborne borders on, with safe easy access, to the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, the KEP Track (walk, cycle., horse ride) and the National Trust Golden Pipeline Heritage Drive (Mundaring Weir to Kalgoorlie) and Alps Reserve. The cottage is perfectly situated for bush walkers, cyclists, and horse riders with numerous tracks and trails all within a stone's throw of "Hillborne", about 5 mins drive, 15 mins off road cycle ride from Mundaring and 45 minutes from Perth. The Munda Biddi Trail, one of the worlds longest off road cycle trails starts in Mundaring. The cottage, has very comfortable two bedroom accommodation with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two king singles. It has a fully equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area with TV, DVD player, reverse cycle air-conditioning in the living areas, fans in the bedrooms. A large veranda with BBQ to enjoy the beautiful views over the valley and the spectacular glow of the last rays of the sun disappearing up the gum trees. All linen and towels provided. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar provided and our own free range eggs when available. PLEASE NOTE : MINIMUM TWO NIGHT STAY. ANIMALS: ***********DOGS BY REQUEST ONLY ********** IF YOU ARE WANTING TO BRING YOUR DOG, PLEASE CHECK WITH US BEFORE MAKING A BOOKING, WE DO HAVE A FEW STIPULATIONS. We welcome horses, by request, the paddock in front of the cottage is available for visiting equines.

The cottage is situated in a beautiful location near Perth and provides a feeling of escape. It's perfect for walks and has a lovely balcony to enjoy the early morning and evening view of horses, birds, bunnies, and other wildlife. The hosts were accommodating and allowed our dog to roam freely in the fully enclosed yard, which our furry friend thoroughly enjoyed. The property was immaculate and well-maintained, with fresh eggs, honey, and delightful surprises upon arrival.

The owner family was very kind. The accommodation is very clean and new. Nice and wide kitchen with enough dishes, glasses, and cooking tools. BBQ grill was also ready. I could enjoy BBQ.

We loved our stay at Hillborne! The house was immaculately clean and really did feel like our own home for a couple of nights. Being able to take our little dog was just fabulous - and he had a whale of a time. Looking out over the paddocks taking in the surrounding nature was the perfect escape from the rat race!

Very comfortable stay. Host has thought of everything. Lovely thick towels and comfortable beds. Best part was the porch. Elevated position looking out to the paddocks. There is amazing birdlife and beautiful horses to look at. Honey fresh eggs OJ a real treat. Close to Mundaring. Would love to come back and recharge at this lovely spot. Regular check ins from Marley the dog a great bonus.

The cottage is a sweet little house inside an enclosed paddock that was an absolute blessing for my greyhound! She was absolutely in love with being able to trot about in the mornings off lead. The cottage is situated on a hill with stairs up to the main verandah, and the view is just lovely, with truly enjoyable cross breezes. The house is just large enough for comfort but small enough for coziness, and to make keeping it tidy a snap. I suffer a bit with the heat so I was very grateful for the split system in the lounge area and the fans in the bedrooms. Also the shower cubicle was bigger than you get in most hotels. There are abundant brochures, maps, and information about the local life and scenery (another reason to go back!) and we were really touched by the fresh farm eggs, honey, oj and wine that was left for us - very generous :) The owners were so welcoming, genuinely kind and lovely people, and their little collie is beautiful too! We'd love to stay again some time :)

We stayed at the cottage with our 1 and 3 years old. It was clean and had everything we needed for the stay. We were given some eggs from their chickens and honey from their beehives which were delicious. The place has heaps of board games and things as well as capsule coffee machine. Melissa our host took us to meet the horses and chickens and we got to pick some plums from the trees. The kids loved seeing the animals. The cottage is not far from all the shops and taverns. We went to Mount Helena Tavern 2 nights in a row 5 mins from the place. The outdoor there was really good for the kids to run around. Overall we have a good few days off from our usual life.

A beautiful, secluded setting and house which is not far away from several small to mid to size towns. Wildlife everywhere including Horses, Ducks, Rabbitts, many different types of birds. The dawn chorus was amazing. The adjoining owners dog even came to say hello. We loved every second of our stay.

If you are looking for a clean, cosy country cottage in the lovely Perth Hills area with friendly but discreet hosts this is the place for you. We spotted 26 varieties of birds on the grounds with a further 4 flying over, also a Bandicoot, and the 4 horses grazing in the paddocks are a lovely relaxing sight. We had an exceptional 8 days exploring the local walks, town and Reserves. We live in UK and loved our stay, can’t wait to return.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at Hillbourne Cottage last week. The owners were open and accommodating, communication was always very quick, and the cottage was really well presented when we arrived - with fresh eggs and honey. Access to the local walking tracks was nice and we absolutely loved having an enclosed and large grassed area for our 1.5yr old puppy to run around in without us worrying about her whereabouts. Thanks for a great getaway weekend - we'll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful stay at Hillborne Cottage, it had everything we needed and more. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere and easily relaxed and hit the reset button. Would highly recommend, ideal location for bikers / walkers as it’s literally on the heritage trail Melissa is an amazing host too, made everything easy. We will be visiting again soon

Relaxing weekend in the Perth Hills. Excellent hosts - let our daughters help feed the horses, fed us their homemade honey and eggs. Despite the rain, we got out and about, mountain biking and is was nice to be able to bring our dog!

We spent 4 nights here, absolutely amazing to say the least. Warm, cosy and very welcoming. Our girls and dog were sad to leave - they all had a ball! For a weekend stay, just 40 minutes from the city we will be back again! The cottage is beautifully kept, cosy and nestled in the most stunning location. We arrived to fresh eggs and honey which we of course ate for breakfast the following morning. Relax with a cuppa on the verandah overlooking paddocks with horses, take one of the walking trails into Mt Helena or a short drive into Mundaring, there is plenty to do. We went in late May which was perfect - clear skies but chilly enough to make a fire and toast some marshmallows. The hosts were friendly and accommodating and it was a bonus that we were able to take our dog with us... thank you, Melissa and her husband for providing this rejuvenating experience.

What a weekend we had. Hillborne is just beautiful and luxurious both inside and out. Our girls absolutely loved the personal touches, feeding horses and collecting chicken eggs. The complimentary honey is delicious, the gardens and grounds luscious and inviting. The shower is amazing and the beds super comfy and we slept amazingly well. We couldn’t compliment Hillborne enough, returning home was hard and can’t wait for the next visit.

This is an amazing little cottage out in the Valley with a great view over the paddocks. A five minute walk to the Heritage Trail and other bush walks and the really bonus, it is pet friendly so we could share our time with our Labrador Lucas. Well appointed, lovely and clean we wished we'd booked for longer. Melissa was fantastic and made us feel right at home.

The cottage was modern and comfortable. A nice touch to include eggs and honey in the kitchen sourced from the property. What makes it so special is the location set with a glorious view of paddocks and with a range of great walking tracks on the doorstep.

Was a beautiful cottage surrounded by bush. Lots of wildlife to see. Was able to make a fire and had a Easteregg hunt. Our dogs loved the openness. Thank you

This is a lovely little cottage with great owners; friendly and available if required but otherwise unobtrusive. Only a 20 minute bush walk to Mt Helena (which has a great little cafe). Everything we needed was there. Perfect for a short getaway give. It’s close proximity to Perth. If you’ve got mountain bikes worth taking them because the railway heritage trail is close by.

Weekend getaway (our first ever without kids) and we felt instantly at home. The fresh eggs, OJ and local honey was a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. House was very clean and homely. No wifi which was quite nice - the bananagrams got dusted off! Enjoyed a couple of bush walks nearby and might need to return with the kids to check out the railway bike track some time. We loved our stay at the Hillborne Cottage! The location was ideal a quick get away from the city. Loads of hikes to do and 15-20 minute walk to cafe and pub. The cabin was lovely. Our dog Archie had a blast. He had a large enclosed area to run around and lots of new animals to see. Thank you Melissa for your hospitality. We are hoping to come for another visit soon.
