Located on the edge of Cruz Bay and the National Park (near Mongoose Junction), this two bedroom two bath villa sleeps up to 5 (with day bed). Full kitchen, gas grill, washer & dryer. Pleasant quiet neighborhood. with amazing sunset views! No A/C - but we do have ceiling fans and standing fans. Relax on Guavaberry Hill's Porch - with beautiful sunset views overlooking Cruz Bay towards St. Thomas and the sunset. Close to town - close to National Park and beaches.

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely location for 10 nights in August 2023. The home is secluded, with amazing sunset views, easy access to Mongoose Junction for St. John Scoops (smells amazing when they make their waffle cones), or for great places to eat such as North Shore Deli, Sundog Cafe, Greengos and more as well as places to shop or pick up snorkel gear. Or a short walk to the ferry dock for a meal at High Tide right on the beach and more shopping opportunities. Don’t forget to check out Uncle Joe’s Bbq but go early as they sell out quickly!
Jackie was so amazing and helpful to us, it was so nice to have some refreshments waiting for us on our arrival. Everything we could need was at the home and in good condition.
We honeymooned on St. John years ago and this was the perfect location to bring our kids with us and explore the island together.

My Mom, sister, and I absolutely loved staying here. The house is peaceful and beautiful with views of the bay, surrounded by foliage. St John is amazing and we enjoyed exploring it, but we also really loved just hanging out at the house. It feels very private while at the same time being conveniently located close to town. We did not have a car for most of the trip and quite enjoyed the walk up and down the hill. It's a hike to be sure. Not having AC was not a problem; we felt the ceiling fans and floor fans did the trick. Booking was super easy and Jackie was a great starting reference point and introduction to the island. We really appreciated staying here. Thank you!

What a beautiful private escape! Just a five minute walk (the return trip isn’t for the feeble😓) to all the restaurants and shops in Cruz Bay, yet all the privacy and serenity you could ask for. What a great location with a fabulous view of the bay. Jackie (the property manager) couldn’t have been more responsive to our questions and provided all the information we needed in preparation for our trip. If we ever travel to St John in the future, we will certainly attempt to stay at this property again. Definitely a “peace” of heaven!

My family and I had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful house on St. John Island! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the most breathtaking view, which treated us to awe-inspiring sunsets every evening. It was like living in a postcard! Our host met us as soon as we arrived and showed us everything we needed know. Throughout our stay, our host was very attentive and available.
The cozy ambiance of the house was the perfect to the island's serene atmosphere. The well-thought-out layout and thoughtful decor made us feel right at home. Not to mention, the house was incredibly well-equipped with everything we could possibly need during our stay.
The location of the property was perfect for us. Tucked away in Cruz Bay, it offered just the right amount of seclusion, yet it was still conveniently close to local amenities and attractions. We could easily explore the island, try out different restaurants, and indulge in a variety of activities during the day. The beaches are around the corner.
Highly recommend this property! We will definitely be back!

What a gem! We loved our place. It was perfect for a family and location was ideal. We walked to our favorite beach, Honeymoon beach and walked to town for dinners, ice cream, and drinks. The view was spectacular and sunsets were beautiful. I would highly recommend!

Guava berry Hill is exactly as advertised. The view of Cruz Bay is breathtaking both day and night. It was the perfect location for ease of visiting the beaches daily and Cruz Bay.

Wake up to Cruz Bay
House is perfectly situated to wake up to a fantastic view of Cruz Bay. We had coffee and watched to boats in the morning and had drinks while watching boats and harbor activities. It is a quick walk down Mongoose junction and the local stores and restaurants. (The hike back up the hill was not as fast, but was still doable.)
Communication and check-in was easy. We were given great references for activities and dining. Arranging grocery delivery before arrival was a bonus that made it really easy to start our vacation. They had many chairs, coolers, and towels available so it was easy to pack up and head to one of the beaches or on a trail hike.

This was our favorite spot by far in Cruz Bay, the property was gorgeous & the management team is top notch. If you’re looking for a place to share with adults or a family this is your spot! We look forward to staying here again!

A week in St John
Jackie was incredibly helpful with our check in and the place was lovely. Wonderful balcony views and great to have things like beach chairs and floats. Definitely recommend having a (small) rental car because climbing the hill in the heat was brutal

We chose this rental because of its proximity to National Park Visitors Center, which is start of trail to Solomon and Honeymoon beaches. On multiple days, we hiked to beach for early morning swimming/snorkeling. However, I should mention that the hardest part of the hike was up the private road to the house (it is a workout)! Also, the house layout was perfect for 2 couples. We spent 10 days here and really felt at home. We filled the hummingbird feeder and birdbath and then enjoyed watching the birds feeding and splashing. I should also note that for the most part it was fine not having air conditioning, but there was one pretty hot night and while the sunset view is amazing, it means that the afternoon sun can really heat up the house for a few hours so it was important to close shades in late afternoon. Deck is amazing and we spent most of our time at the house hanging out there. Overall, this was a great place to come home to after a busy day exploring STJ!

Perfect Location
First off, the listing does not do this property justice. The villa is in a PERFECT location, just up the hill from the quaint Mongoose Junction, and overlooks the amazing sunsets from your very private deck. The property is spacious, clean, and fully stocked. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended our visit by 4 nights! We will be back soon!

Wonderful Family Vacation
We loved the private location of this property. We were close to town, yet felt like we were all on our own. It felt very safe. We enjoyed the views from every room. We would 100% stay here again….and we hope to in the future!

Home Away From Home
We had an amazing A+ experience staying at this villa. From check-in to check-out, Jackie the property manager was hospitable, accommodating, and kind -- she made us feel right at home! The villa is in a great location, just up the hill from Mongoose Junction, and overlooks a beautiful daily sunset. The property is spacious, clean, includes all amenities you may need during your stay (e.g., cookware, beach gear), and is full of thoughtful little touches throughout. We also loved the little neighborhood cat that would visit us on the balcony. Will definitely be staying here again during our next trip to St. John!

Way better than the listing
The listing on vrbo doesn't do this property justice. It's large, with two buildings, and a huge patio facing the water between St. John and St. Thomas (which is also the direction the sun sets).
We had a great time visiting, and this property was perfect for the 4 of us.

Perfect for our needs!
We loved the location up on the hill! Great views and walkability to shops and restaurants in town, which was nice because parking in town was a challenge in the evenings. Having two separate spaces with bathrooms gave us the privacy we needed. The property came with all the little things that made it feel like home, even a visiting cat! Beds and pillows were comfy, and there were plenty of fans to make up for no AC. Jackie was great with explaining where everything is and how to get around. We definitely put bug spray to use, but it was worthwhile to be surrounded by lush greenery and enjoy the flowers and iguanas in the trees. Perfect place for our needs overall!

Fans are all you need to keep air moving but we also opened the screen windows and doors for maximum airflow. The local cat, we named Poky (short for poquito) looked almost exactly like our cat from home, was probably around the same age and had a very similar personality. She stayed outside but definitely was used to people unlike many of the feral cats on the island. We rented a vehicle for the entire stay and I wouldn’t recommend any other way unless you are in pretty good shape for walking steep hills and only care to explore nearby areas. We travelled all over the island to snorkel by day and loved being home at Guavaberry Hill for the sunsets! After that we would pop down to town for dinner or ice cream. My husband and I stayed in the guest suite for privacy and let our nearly grown children stay in the main house. Everyone was comfortable with the living arrangements. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property and conveniently located by mongoose junction. Maho bay is a 20 minute cab ride. Porch gave you view to beach. I would recommend renting a car as we could not get a cab to come up the steep hill however the hill is walkable.

The most wonderful stay!
We had an AMAZING stay at guavaberry hill... It was picture perfect in every way. We loved that the bedrooms were detached and that the porch was massive with amazing views. Could walk to Mongoose Junction in less than 5 mins, Cruz Bay ferry dock in about 8-10. Be mindful it is up a steep hill so having a car was great!!
The house had everything we needed except for shampoo and conditioner :) I cannnot wait to stay here again in the future!
