The property has been painstakingly renovated to bring back the good ol' days while providing guests with all the amenities of home. We're dog friendly - WOOF! We do have a two dog maximum policy (no cats, please!), but no additional pet fees. Located across the street from a beach access, the two bedroom, one bath cottage sits on a semi-oceanfront lot. The building has been lifted so you can enjoy views of the sound, catch beautiful sunsets, and watch kite-boarders in the distance. Other property features include WIFI, flat screen TVs (3), a well-stocked kitchen, and a fire pit. Amazing cottage right across from the ocean!! Plenty of space for myself, my husband, and our dog. Very clean and newly renovated cottage. Only thing I would have changed was that provided some basics like a roll of paper towels or a sponge if they expect things properly cleaned. Would definitely return!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and well-appointed. Perfect size for our group of three adults. From this location we were easily able to explore across the Outer Banks, from Roanoke to Corolla to Ocracoke.

I really enjoyed my stay. It’s close to everything, steps to the beach, and it was adorable. Loved the beach theme. I also really appreciate that there was no pet fee and the nice backyard for my dog to run around. Checking in and out was easy. Amy wrote a email with great recommendations for restaurants near by. That was helpful. Overall great visit, and I will stay there again.

This cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway. The owners were very nice and sent a list of great breakfast spots and left a coupon for a 1/2 dozen Duck donuts, which was a great treat! Only complaints were the lights flicker a lot and the beds were really squishy. Otherwise this was a great cottage in a great location.

Amenities poor No hair dryer - tiny roll of TP, Paper towels and I plastic bag for trash provided Only very thin tiny bar of soap provided .Had to go out and buy more of these products . Had to take out the large garbage can out to the curb on trash day and return it to the house per house rules. TV did not work properly - sound system bad Could not watch it during our stay Never had the above issues at any of the places I have rented before on VBRO Would not stay again or recommend this place to others

I’ve been coming to the OBX for a decade and this was by far the best place I’ve ever stayed. It was beautiful, clean, perfect location, and has all you could need for a lovely time. And our dog loved it! We so appreciated the no pet fee. This is a one of a kind little cottage that has so much heart. I couldn’t ask for anything more. We will be back!

Came for 4 nights in mid January as a long weekend getaway for my husband's birthday. We also brought along our dog. Tandem Cottage was as advertised, well-furnished, and a block from beach access. The location was central for getting around, and we would stay here again...perfect size for what we needed.

We come to OBX about 4 times a year (always off-season) and stay in small cottages on/across 1 street from the beach. We have 2 small dogs(children) and Tandem Cottage has now set the bar pretty high; convenient location, easy in/out for dogs, updated living area and much more. This is my wife's new favorite place and we will definitely try to rebook in the future. Only slight issue during our stay was the entry lock was difficult to gain entry using the key(maybe some oil sprayed into the lock/bring WD40)

We brought our dogs and daughter to this idyllic little bungalow and had a great time. The place is adorable and the setup works great for a small group. It's almost like a tiny house. The location is awesome with super easy beautiful beach access. We loved going in the offseason and particularly loved eating at Tortuga's Lie. The house had everything we needed for an easy-going family of 3 and 2 dogs. The one challenge was some kind of vegetation dropping tiny prickly sticky sharp balls all over near the house and backyard so if your dog has a shaggy coat be prepared to pull these suckers out and they are evil little buggers. A fenced-in yeard where the dogs could run loose would be the ultimate game changer.

The property was as described in listing. A cute cottage, comfortable beds and great location. The only downside was the cleanliness of the sofa. It was stained and obvious had had pets on it. We covered it with a spread and were fine. But, would definitely recommend replacing the sofa. The property manager was great to work with as well. We enjoyed seeing the area and little towns. Not at all busy this time of year would definitely recommend. The bonus certificate for 6 Duck donuts was a nice surprise 👍🏻

There is literally everything you need here. Bring your food, clothes, and self. The place was amazing. Clean the sheets smelled great. Everything was perfect. The breeze off the ocean if the windows are open will make you want to just lay there all day. Easy ocean access can’t say enough great things.

It’s in an amazing location just steps away from the beach and it’s well equipped with everything you might need during your stay. The location was great, short walk to the beach. It had a great lawn for our dog. It was the perfect size for my husband and I and my 5 year old and two year old. It would probably be tight for more than that. It was super cute inside and updated.

This was a great location and had everything we needed. It was a little tight for our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) but we were there to see the island not hang out inside. The property managers were so nice and responded right away to our questions. We had a great stay!

The Tandem cottage was a perfect location for me and my three teens to stay. The property was as listed and very clean. The owners and caretakers were responsive to our requests. It was me (mom) and three teens...so it was a bit cozier than preferred, and one bathroom made getting three teens ready for a night out a bit challenging..but that is not the property's fault!! I would definitely stay here again with a smaller group and recommend to others traveling in a smaller group...but worth it for the location.

Worked out perfectly for me my wife and our pup. Just a short stay my wife ran a half marathon that was only a short drive to get to. The cottage was small but all we needed, and much better than a hotel room! Full kitchen, with all the utensils you would need. Right across the street from the ocean!
