Vero Beach is one of the most important sea turtle nesting sites in North America. The beach in front of White Surf Resort is a popular nesting site for several species of sea turtles, including loggerhead, green and leatherback. There are steps that you can take to help us protect these magnificent creatures. During Turtle Nesting Season (March 1st to October 31st): never approach nesting or hatching turtles, never walk on or disturb turtle nests, reduce visible light at night by closing ocean-facing curtains and blinds, turn off or reduce lights facing the ocean, and if walking on the beach at night use only red light flashlights (provided in the lending library at White Surf Resort). SPACE EXPLORATION SpaceX and NASA rocket launches are often visible from the pool and the east balconies at White Surf Resort. While the launches are generally quite visible to the naked eye, binoculars are available in the White Surf Resort Lending Library. Check calendars for launch dates and times.
