We had an awesome time! Boating was great, dock was well maintained and easily accessible to the lake. Did over 250 miles of ATV riding. House is well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend booking this house for your next stay on Moosehead lake.

The property is very cozy and comfortable and appropriate for the Moosehead region. The deck is very comfortable and our family spent a great deal of time there in the morning and the evening. We had two 20 foot fishing boats that were easily secured on the boat dock. The stairs, which were 65 in number, gave me my exercise and I actually lost a bit of weight. I thank you Shane for the wonderful experience.

Shane’s cabin is better than described! Fully stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Easy check in process. We stayed to do some snowmobiling and had easy access to the trails. Driveway is huge so trailers are no problem. Great location for any activity really. Will definitely stay again!

Great vacation property. Better in person than online pictures.

Our family of 5 had an absolutely wonderful time here. The cabin is very spacious and has many different sleeping/room options. The basement game room was a hit with our kids. Having a washer/dryer was a huge plus because we could pack lighter and go home with clean clothes. There are three kayaks - 2 double-seaters and one single - along with life jackets. Games and DVDs were great to have in the evenings. Easy access to lake activities. Being right on the water was wonderful - this section of the river is right at the mouth of Moosehead Lake, and the water was very calm, allowing for our younger kids to kayak and float about easily right near the dock while also allowing everyone to paddle into the actual lake in a short time. Kitchen is well-stocked with every tool you might need, lots of towels and blankets in rooms, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was downright painful to leave after such a wonderful week.

We cannot say enough good things about this cabin. Took the wife up for her birthday weekend to spend some quality time with our kids and family. The owner checked to make sure we were good, and was very helpful and resourceful. We DEFINITELY will be back!

This property was amazing! The pictures do not do this cabin justice. It was incredibly beautiful and comfortable with all the amenities one could possibly need. Great location and excellent communication from the host.

The camp was beautiful in a quaint spot at the end of a 100 yard dirt driveway. We had a group of seven with two dogs and there was MORE than enough space. Kitchen was accommodating and plenty big. The location was great as well with just a very short ride by snowmobile to the lake to fish each day.
There were a few things we were a little disappointed about. Fire wood was not provided for the wood stove that is listed as an amenity in both the VRBO listing, as well as the welcome binder in the house. We contacted the owner who advised us there should have been wood and that he would try to find some for us. After a long wet day ice fishing, nothing beats a wood stove, especially for drying gear. The week went by and we never received any wood, nor did the owner reach back out to follow up about it.
The other issue we had which ended up being a safety issue was the maintenance of the driveway. When we arrived the drive way was sheer ice. Now, we are in northern Maine and we all are Mainers that stayed, so snow and ice is nothing new to us. However, mid week we got snow on top of the ice which was never plowed nor was there ice melt or dirt provided where we could at least throw something down in front of the high trafficked areas for our safety. Everyone fell at least once throughout the week due to the extreme iciness and poor maintenance of the driveway (two of those people being pregnant and with crampons on). We did our best to take care of it ourselves while there, but with limited resources available it was hard. With the amount of money we paid to stay here we were just a little disappointed with these two things. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and the house itself was nice.

What an awesome camp! We had friends nearby who paid more, but we had the better place! A wind storm knocked out power, but not for us because the Duvall’s have an automatic generator!! Our friends had to join us for a community dinner—/ it too was awesome! We also had daily visitors: deer, red squirrels, a partridge and bald eagle sightings!

The Duval home is a beautiful warm and cozy vacation house. Beautiful log home with all the amenities you would ever need. We stayed there with a party of 7 and had more then enough room for more. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended will definitely be staying there again in the future

The house was as advertised, has a great camp vibe and all the amenities! Trail access to rte 66 is 1/4 mile(ish) away (you pass it on the drive in). The kitchen has plenty of pans and utensils etc. Communicating with the owner was quick and easy. Absolutely recommended for a snowmobile getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Shane’s property! The area was beautiful! There was more than enough room for all of us, it was super cozy and had everything you could possibly need, from kayaks to cornhole. We enjoyed dinner on the deck, fishing off the dock, 4 wheeling through greenville, a cruise, hiking mount kineo, and just enjoying our family before school starts again. We would definitely stay here again, it was perfect!

My family and I (6 adults, 2 dogs) had a fantastic week at The Duval's cabin. The cabin is beautiful and had everything we needed including a lobster pot to boil lobsters! There was plenty of room for everyone. The boat dock was sturdy, and being on the river was great; the boat was protected from the weather on the lake, 60+ stairs to get to the dock though... we grilled fresh salmon that the guys caught for supper one night and we enjoyed the large deck and fire pit every night. The yard was huge; we set up a badminton net and cornhole game. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin! definitely would stay again.

The camp was great. Clean and spacious. All the amenities that were needed. Dock was easy to put boat on and the stairs up to the camp gave us a good workout after being out on the lake. I would recommend to anyone looking for easy access to the lake. Very quite neighborhood.

The property is beautiful and very clean. The photos do not do it justice. Shane was amazing to communicate with and even checked in to be sure everything was going well. He was able to make suggestions on places to visit and restaurants in the area. Great stay, we would love to come back in the fall.

This was our third snowmobiling trip to the same area. We had issues with snowmobile trail access last year at a different location but this location worked out great. When I originally booked there was eight people but we ended up with only four of us going. We had plenty of room with the four of us but eight people would have been comfortable as well. We liked having the wood stove (with plenty of wood) to keep the living room area warm after snowmobiling all day. The setup is perfect for snowmobiling with a large mudroom type area when you first enter the front door. We put all of our gear there and didn't have to worry about tracking snow through the house. There is wifi, cable, and plenty of DVD's to keep you entertained. The Birches and the Rockwood Bar and Grill are close by for food and gas and are both located on the trail system. We were able to snowmobile to the abandoned trains and make it down to Greenville one night which was our goal. We had a great time and we would all recommend this cabin!

This was our second trip to the Duval cabin. Everything about this home is wonderful. It is clean and comfortable and decorated beautifully. You have peace and privacy yet every modern convenience at your fingertips. You will want for nothing. We have been to the cabin with friends in the middle of the summer and still felt as though we had the entire lake to ourselves. We went for a week at New Year's this time and had snow the entire time we were there. We planned wonderful meals, played games, watched the dear venture through the yard and, with plenty of firewood left for us to burn, kept the fire going almost continuously as the snow fell outside. It was magical.
Candace was, as always, very accommodating and quick to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend this cabin for a get-a-way in any season!

We had the best time....First time was with a group of friends! Upon walking into the cabin you felt like you were at home. There was nothing we needed to bring except clothes and food because everything else was already there and in the best of condition. It felt like you were in a resort and could tell that Candace had put a lot of love and time into making the log cabin a home away from home for her guests. We rented a boat from down the road and had an amazing time on Moosehead lake exploring the many places you could dock and swim and even have a picnic. We had plenty to do even if we stayed at the cabin for the day...plenty of games, videos, pool table etc. to keep all interests busy and if you wanted to just relax and read a book you had the deck or loft to enjoy some time relaxing. We again spent the week after Christmas and New Years week 2016 and were able to get a different take on the cabin in the winter! They had a lovely place in town where we had great food and a band to listen to and did we have snow!! The cabin was plowed out for us when we arrived and also as the snow continued. Never a worry that we would not be able to get out and about. I would highly recommend this cabin for all...plenty to keep children entertained along with tons of outdoor adventures!! You definitely won't be disappointed!!!

This log cabin is amazing! It is absolutely immaculate inside and beautifully decorated. We were very comfortable during our stay. We loved that we could bring our small dog with us and he absolutely enjoyed the dock and swimming in the river! We also loved that the owners allowed us to use their kayaks and took the two person kayak out exploring one full day. Anything major is about 20 mins away, which for us was not a problem, but there is a small gas station, grill/pub, and town store combination about 10 mins or less from the property if you need something desperately. Candace was a great communicator throughout and made our stay very easy. We thoroughly enjoyed eating at the Greenville Inn. Next time, we will book in advance (they say to make reservations one week in advance) at the The Blair Hill Inn as well. These were slightly more upscale dining areas. We saw many moose along Routes 6 + 15 at dusk which is both exciting and nerve wracking at night! We took a moose cruise from The Birches which was just okay. We saw the tail end of one moose only. However, it was a nice way to see the lake. I wish we could stay here longer. We will definitely book again. Thank you so much Candace. This place is a real gem. You should post more pictures.

The inside of this home is lovely and it is stocked with every amenity you could want. The game room was an added bonus as were the kayaks on site. However, this house is not on the actual lake. It is situated on Moose River which leads into Moosehead Lake. Route 6/15 is right across the way which can lead to loud traffic noise.
This was the first time visiting this area and it really is breathtaking.

My husband and I live in NY but are both originally from Maine. We wanted to plan a Maine winter vacation with friends and this house completely exceeded all of our expectations and made our time all the more enjoyable! It's a beautiful cabin, with a fun, home like feel. The house provides easy access to the great Maine outdoors for a day full of fishing, snow shoeing, sight seeing and more, with a nice retreat inside with a game room and plenty of space for relaxation! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a real Maine getaway, with a larger family or a group of friends.. the pictures do not do justice! :)

This cabin is top notch. I would recommend it for families, single persons or groups. My family and I stayed here for a week and enjoyed the dock, kayaks, pool table. The matresses were a dream to sleep on and the cabin is very clean and neat. All supplies, linens, etc are of the highest quality. Everything we needed was there. There was a mother moose and twin babies grazing at the end of the driveway. This cabin is setup for any season. Just plain awesome!
