The location
6.0
Good facilities, everything worked as expected. Photos were an accurate representation of the apartment we rented.
No staff on site after 8.00pm, door to room fairly insecure, no restaurant facilities when we were there. We also could not locate any car park as advertised but there is good on street parking.

The pub was 2mins away from town hall show.
It's a great shame in dye repair , bed springs poke you in back , poor sleep, no contact with hotel staff as its a pub venue no phone in room, no way of getting extra milk , and by luck when I did the milk giving was of , remote u/s in room TV not working to changing channels , shower hot and cold brrrr needs attn .
Possible listed building as its the only one in town reason for built in pub venue , no on site parking , and pictures are old showing looking good , but was clean and tidy if you use the pub for one show then this is right up alley, if you looking for comfort and style then big no, staff cheerful and helpful which goes a long way 😀
Breakfast good no complaints.

Massive room, very quiet location. Heard an owl hoot at night. Loved it. The bed was 6ft superking & extremely comfortable.
Nothing.

As I was working in the area the premises was near to the place of work.
This premises pushes the trading description act to the upmost. Its not a 3 star hotel - its a pub with letting rooms. The pub area where I checked in had fruit/drain flies - indicative of a dirty environment. Doors were damaged as if someone had punched holes in them. The bedroom was in the loft so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. It is dirty and smells of cats. The mattress had no protector and was stained - I shouldn't have looked !! The carpet was stained. There was no heating or hot water. The power shower head did not fit in the receiver so I had to hold it. The loo seat was broken and floor tiles in the bathroom loose. The bill was settled at the start of checking in so not much opportunity to move or be out of pocket to the tune of €210

Location was great, staff were super friendly, loved staying at a locals place.
Room could of been a little bigger and bed was only a double ,but otherwise it was great

The room was clean and tidy the beds were super comfy and we had a great sleep the best I have had in a long time ,There was a fan in the room much needed on a hot night being at the top of the house/pub . ...breakfast nice and tasty
The shower needs attention and some non slip mats in it . Its really slippy when wet ... Get some for your own sake ... before your guests have a accident . TV needs attention and returning . No hairdryer ?
As we had two rooms i did ask for another fan which was provided but it did not work ! You need to tweak some things and tidy up a bit for a better guest experience and future bookings ...Breakfast nice and tasty but served in a room full of laundry all over the place , No napkins ,no background music a little more effort and it would have been a far better experience for guests . I too let rooms to guests so i have learnt a little over the years ,Please just look at it all as if you were a guest and what you comments would be ,It could all be so much better with some small changes .Good luck ...

The only good thing about this stay was there was no extra charge for the dogs I brought travelling with me.
Upon arrival I noticed an extremely strong scent of stale beer, but let it slide because I just thought "Hey, it's a pub. The rooms are probably nice".
On the way to our room, I noticed the carpet looked very old and worn, but again, thought the room would probably be okay.
The member of staff had difficulty unlocking the door - the handles and locks on the doors weren't very strong.
As soon as I entered the room, I could smell sewerage. I didn't know where it was coming from, but decided to spray a body spray around the room to try and get rid of it. I wanted to ask for some air freshener, but my family member I was staying with didn't want to make a fuss.
Again, the carpet was very worn, stained, and the room had not been cleaned properly. There were still belongings from previous guests under the side tables by the bed and down the middle of the sofa, including a sanitary towel (thankfully unused).
The mattress hung over the frame of the bed, and it didn't have a proper fitted sheet on it - only a flat sheet that couldn't be tucked in, so as soon as you rolled over it would move and you'd be lying on a bare mattress.
The shelf in the bathroom was barely hanging on and was sloped, so couldn't be used. The shower looked clean, but the cleanliness of the rest of the room made us not feel like using it.
The taps were like those you'd see in a public bathroom. You had to push them down for them to work, and they didn't stay on for very long.
The bathroom was also so small that the door was almost touching the sink, meaning you'd have to either open the door all the way, or squeeze through to be able to get to the toilet behind.
We didn't use the kettle or the cups, again due to fears of cleanliness.
The second night we stayed, the sewerage smell was gone, but it was replaced with another strange smell I can't quite identify.

It was near to family
4 flights of stairs [32] no lift, no towel rail, no mat then you got out of shower could slip on tiles
Noisy on Friday and Saturday even though rooms are all in attic
Very uncomfortable beds moved from one bedroom because bed dipped in middle other bed was still uncomfortable with springs

Nothing . I was called a liar by the manager when her staff were clearly lying . WE had clear records .
The rooms were not ready at 3pm for our stay. lack of staff. Finally got into one room t 4.30?
The next morning after paying the previous day we were told The chef was on holidays .We were told MacDonald was the nearest place?
We were a party of 5 adults booked into 3 rooms. They were not ready at 3pm. we were asked to have drinks. We paid for them . It was very hot . At 4.30 one room was ready. It was shabby but as we were there for my brother funeral we just wanted to settle and get things ready for the next day.
We went down for breakfast. I had emailed them to say 3 of us were vegetarian . They said the chef was on holiday and we should have been told. They phoned the manager who was also away?We were advised where the nearest MacDonald was.!!!
I was called a liar by the manager when a member of staff told her we hadn't paid our bill when it was clear from bank records we had .The staff member tried to apologise later in the middle of my brother funeral wake , in front of everyone! it was just so inappropriate. The manager didn't ring to apologise. She was very rude and aggressive towards me. I had to say several times i was on my way to the funeral. finally ending the conversation politely but stopping the phone call. I was not aggressive or rude back.
Within minutes i had another phone call. ? What was wrong with these people have they have no respect for me and my family ?It felt like they were angry and we were getting the anger.
The accommodation had clearly had a fight in it with kicked in doors and sinks badly repaired. shower was unclean .
No consideration that we were staying there to attend my brothers funeral. No Tv remote
Flat for 4 had 2 plates 2 forks? one glass. We did explain this to staff and nothing was done. It was a very shabby but costly experience. If staff are on holiday dont take bookings and the money! This was a lovely place a few years ago but clearly new management are running it down at top prices .Ripped off

Lovely staff , room was great , comfy and clean .
Shower was difficult to control and took ages to get hot ! Tea and coffee facilities were minimal , maybe mugs might be better than cups and saucers ?

Noise from machinery. Bed very poor, felt as though falling off. At reception took ages to get service. Same when we left. Room maybe should be cheaper. In the morning about 8.30 was lots of door banging and people shouting.

I stay in a lot of hotels around Wales with my work and this one really stood out because the staff were so brilliantly friendly and accommodating.
I'm usually travelling with my dog and it's ideal when there is no hidden charge for them. The overall price was very reasonable too.
We were house-hunting in the area and staying here we had the best impression of the local area.

The location was good as I was working in the area.
I was a little disappointed by the overall condition of the hotel. When booking the hotel I looked at all the photos and thought what a nice place it looked. The photos are very different from reality. I stayed for two nights in two different rooms, the first room ok but needed a little work, the bed however was super comfy with clean white sheets. The second room was better again clean white sheets but the mattress was awful.
Value for money was fair
