Disappointing

The environment was nice. I liked the volunteer staff. Breakfast was excellent. Location excellent. I felt safe in the area and it was lit up well. Very close to main town.

The fridge was an abomination. It was not clean or organized. In fact, it was exploding with stuff. With that many occupants staying in the hostel they should have had two more large fridges at least to accommodate. There was only one for EVERYONE<. Also the private room was too expensive and I had to pay extra because I booked through Bookings.com./ Don't use them their are hidden fees.

Nice for a few nights!

It‘s well located in the city center and has a cute Pool/Bar.

When I arrived the sheets weren‘t changed and the bathroom was really dirty. We talked to the lady at the reception and she did help us immediately and was really friendly. But would be nice if it would‘ve been clean first round :)

Disappointing

the hostel is nice, friendly, vibrant and colorful. just as a classic backpacker hostel

I had booked a ‘female only’ dorm with 4 beds. when I arrived there where 6 beds and also men where booked in the room. this wouldn’t matter to some, but to me it matters a lot and the only reason why I booked this place was that it said Female only! this is super unprofessional. bring your earplugs, the walls are thin and it is VERY noisy.

The location is really nice! Close to the beach and nice chill out area at the hostel. Our room (Economy Room) was very small. For 2 nights ok but for a longer stay you should book a bigger room. The restaurant is nice. Samara Beach is one of the best beaches from Costa Rica. Very beautiful and you can surf (5$ a board per hour)! You should bring a hammock for the beach. Best Thing Ever!

The Economy Room is very small. It would be nice to put free towels for this room.

good value/don’t expect much

close to the beach. Good value for the price/location. kept clean and staff was friendly. breakfast was simple but ok.

quite simple. didn’t have running water during the day to wash/toilet/shower.

bit grim

not much …. we’re a little older and this is a backpacking place really

an ant invasion which can obvs can happen anyway in Costa Rica and staff moved us to a better room

Ok but you can get a different thing as what you booked.

The pool and bar area is really nice and the location is pretty convenient.

I booked a 4 bed room (2 bunk beds) because we were a group of 4 friends but in the first night we got a 6 bed room shared with other 2 guests and the ceiling was so low that it was difficult to get in the upper beds. We requested a change but it was until the second night that we got the booked room.

The pool is really nice, there is a nice kitchen with multiples things and places to relax also. But the dorms are small , at least there is AC!

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Avoid at all costs.

Nothing.

The room we stayed in (room 68) was both tiny and disgusting. there was mould in the bathroom (on the shower curtains and floor) and the water didn’t work. The bed was so uncomfortable with a massive dip in the mattress. We had to put our clothes underneath the mattress to try to level it out. The doors to the room were locked with a tiny lock which you could push through so we didn’t feel safe. in addition, the doors had cracks and didn’t meet the frame so creatures kept crawling into our room and on us all night. The curtains were falling off and didn’t cover the window so people could see in. You could hear through the walls and hear the loud music being played at the on-site bar. The price was so expensive for such an awful experience.

It was very loud as the bar was open till midnight which is fine but for 88 dollars for a hostel it seemed very over priced for what it is.

Would come back to sleep in a private room, not to a dorm

Nice pool, nice private rooms but the dorms toilets are not well cleaned (stayed here two times, once in dorm once in a private room worh friends) kitchen is fine, nice staff

Toilet smelled weird and dirty and felt like they did not clean them that well. Also not organized so people know which bed they can take. i stayed 2 nights and slept in 2 different beds in the same room, kitchen is fine But small and very warm and gets crowded

It was comfortable and close tobeach

The location was great, and the staff facilitated our requests. It had a great pool for swimming and very close to the beach

The town of Samara, was small with limited restaurants and amenities for us.

Extremely happy I stayed only one night.

The pool seems nice but customers don’t stay the night in the pool; they stay in the room. The pool is completely irrelevant if the room experience is the worst in samara.

Very little value is offered to the customer for the “high season” price. During my time in Samara I stayed in 5 different hotels, one night in each. The Blue Iguana was by far the worst. Felt like Motel 6 had acquired a heroin addiction and renamed itself the Blue Iguana.

overall a great experience at blue iguana. the location is the best!

location is great! breakfast was very good. the grounds was clean. I felt like our room was clean upon arrival and wasn’t grimy. the pool is clean and very nice to relax around.

the kitchen needs another fridge and it’s almost too small for the amount of people. The mattress needs to be updated. you can feel the springs through mattress.
