About this cottage rental

Located in Coromandel, this charming cottage for $134 per night is a great option for your next trip. One bedroom cedar cottage, nestled into a cottage garden with a path leading to the orchards. The property is set on 1.5 acres, fully self contained with one QUEEN bed / bedroom and NEW en suite (July 2011), plus new sofa bed (Nov 2013) in the open plan living area. It can accommodate 4 people. A lovely warm place to stay in either summer or winter as it is north facing and has a logfire for the winter, with air conditioning and heaters as required. The property is an oasis of a variety of fruits in the orchards which covers the property. Most times of the year there is fruit to sample. At the rear of the property is Driving Creek stream where the first gold was discovered in New Zealand and today you will find crystals there for a souvenir. Within walking distance (5min) is the famous Driving Creek Railway, where Barry Brickell, a world-famous potter has established a truly fascinating environment, with potters and his world-famous railway PLUS there is now the Driving Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and a new Art Gallery which will exhibit Barry's private collection of very famous artists not to forget the fabulous views of the harbor and islands. Also, see the reestablishment of native trees and wildlife. On the way stop off at the funky Driving Creek Cafe. The historic village of Coromandel is under 3km, with fabulous restaurants and craft shops. The 3 local pubs all provide courtesy vans door-to-door. The cottage is 7-8 minutes to the closest safe beach or under 30 mins to the beautiful Whangapoua, NEW CHUMS and Matarangi Beaches on the East Coast. Also, there are bush walks to native Giant Kauri Trees, artist studios to visit, and a great fishing region - if you do not have a boat we would be happy to organize a trip for you or a trip to the Cape perhaps. Shirley and Tims cottage is so georgous. With a lovely walm friendly welcome from Shirley we felt instantly at home. The cottage is amongst the most beautiful cottage carden and trees so well maintained. The cottage is spotlessly clean and so well appointed. There is everything you need and more with georgous little touches every where. Comfortable bed and beautiful linnen you can just feel the love that has been put into this lovely place. 10 out of ten i didnt want to leave! Thankyou Shirley and Tim for sharing your beautifully property with us and welcoming our dog. Cant wait to come back.

Wow what a beautiful spot!!!! Gorgeous garden's & A++ accommodation, facilities are wonderful and beautifully presented. Shirley & Tim have thought of everything to make your stay a comfortable one, even down to the lovely flowers throughout the cottage on arrival. Highly recommend. The gardens surrounding the cottage are beautiful and it feels very private. The cottage was spotless and had everything you could need and the hosts are lovely and really care about making sure you are comfortable. I would highly recommend.

Rustic once passed the lovely driveway but very welcoming. Tim & Shirley were lovely and helpful hosts. The gardens were delightful and the oven excellent. Would have liked to have book with them direct as not impressed with Vrbo’s very unhelpful app

Really comfortable and well-appointed unit, with a lovely friendly and helpful host. Everything was thought of, including delightful flower arrangements in the rooms. Very warm and well furnished, our only regret was that it was too warm to light the fire! Highly recommend it, a great base to explore the area.

We could not fault anything at Shirley and Tim's cottage. They gave detailed directions and handy hints for the area which was much appreciated. The booking was easy as was communication with Shirley. I was met on arrival and made to feel so welcome. The cottage is in a idyllic garden setting, can only imagine how beautiful it would be in the summer. Inside was perfect - everything was supplied, lovely linens and towels, comfy bed and the wood fire jusf made it like home. Thank you Shirley and Tim.

Absolutely lovely. A very attractive and comfortable cottage accommodation. Only 2 minutes from Coromandel township but very quiet location. Fully equipped with lovely touches including flowers from Shirleys garden - she provided us with a cutting from one of her lovely flowering plants. Very warm and functional cottagewith great kitchen - bathroom and bedroom. Shirley was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We stayed two nights at this wonderful spot. Gorgeous cottage and garden. Loved the little touches such as fresh herbs and flower arrangements from the garden. Super comfortable and luxurious bedding. Shirley made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating. Will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and family.

She had flowers in every room and the place looked so welcoming.The cottage is just gorgeous, nestled in garden, bush and orchard, with a couple of sheep thrown in! Shirley was absolutely lovely. Enjoyed a lovely stay at Orchard Cottage. Had fun strolling around the orchard and spotting an eel in the creek behind the property. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and Shirley made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing get away.

Another fantastic stay at Orchard Cottage. Comfortable, cosy and homely. Hosts that go out of their way to make sure that you have great holiday accommodation. Only a few minutes from the township, but far enough away to be secluded, private and fully relaxed. A very central location to explore or visit any part of the Corommandel Peninsula. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coromandel Orchard Cottage, The accommodation was clean and very comfortable with lovely creative, thoughtful touches. Our puppy was very welcome and enjoyed running through the orchard, meeting from a distance, the sheep, chooks and kitten. Thank you so much to our hosts Shirley and Tim.

My family was absolutely in love with the place to the point they wanted to stay home rather than see the touristic attractions around Coromandel. Real lovely spot and great host. Super recommend.

Well located, 3 mins by car to the town -or a nice 30 mins walk. The cottage is located very close (walking distance) to the Driving-Creek train which is great. If the weather doesn't allow going out, the house is well equiped so you can stay in. There is a river at the back of the property and if you are visiting at the right time of the year you can get yummy tangelos from the orchard. The owner was very friendly and helpfully.
