Amazing history. Fabulous views. Lots of walking. Breakfast bar was good. We left our door and windows open and the sea breeze was lovely. I want to take my grandkids there and spend more time exploring. I even found a first settler related to me!

The location on North Head is amazing, unique and breathtaking. The historical buildings and the surrounds are a one off and worth staying there just for the historical value. The nearby walks around North head, and the lookouts are amazing.
A great place to stay during winter, early spring and autumn, but summer could well be difficult. There is no air conditioning in any of the bedrooms, but there was ceiling fans. You would probably get a cross breeze from the ocean in some of the accommodation, unfortunately we were not able to leave our door open as there were no screen doors to keep the critters out during the night.
If you were planning to stay there during the summer months, it would be wise to speak to the venue, about what accommodation would be most comfortable during the heat.
So definitely has some limitations, as is original and rustic, but a stunning location and very unique. I would definitely stay there again but choose what time of year so as to avoid the heat.😊

Outstanding views over Sydney Harbour; fascinating history of isolation facilities for infectious disease patients; adjacent to the National Park and walking trails.

Location is fabulous
Checkout was slow to the extreme … I had to tell them I owed them money and then 15 minutes for them to take our money

Beautiful view
Mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. The bed wasn’t made up for the children. Only towels for 2 people.
Breakfast was not nice. Mould and dirt in the dining area on the ceiling.

No fresh air (no window) as doors had to be shut with curtains . Disappointed with where we were-no view as such.
Pillows so uncomfortable. Understand rooms small but surprised how small.

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is full of history and completely beautiful. The room was clean, well set up, and super comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was a busy time but the staff manager the rush with professionalism and kept their smiles. We will definitely be back
The shuttle bus took a little while but considering the number of visitors it was understandable.

It’s an experience based on a historical location. The rooms are pleasant and views are stunning. It’s a yesteryear experience to use a bathroom outside your room and I understand the heritage protection prevents upgrading. Hence why it’s an experience. The bus into Manly was appreciated and the drop to your room and pick up was again an experience. I guess I could sum it up in that it’s nice to visit but not stay.

the room
Upon arrival I asked about the ferry to Manly timetable the woman checking us in mentioned it was no longer running and didn’t mention the hotel offers a shuttle service to Manly , we found out on our second day by another hotel guest. There was a dirty Qtip in the shower when we got to the room.,hot water wasn’t working, had to ring to get it fixed. batteries on remote control for tv not working had to ring to get them changed. safety lighting outside the room on walkway not working had to ring to get that fixed. At breakfast the fruit was off we had to tell the staff and it had insects on it.(I have photos) and the food selection has been cut short sine we stayed last. There were a couple of female staff that were not friendly at all. The restaurant was closed the two nights we were there so we couldn’t have a proper place for a meal on sight. (you can Uber eats or go down to Manly) We have stayed at Qstation a few times before and I was shocked at the changes since we last stayed there. The views are spectacular, the rooms are lovely and most of the staff were great.

Nothing we had a black out from 8pm so we had no wifi or tv for most of the night was in total black out so how can you rate something like that when I could have stayed home if I wanted to be in the dark and saved my money

I didn’t stay there. I need my refund. When i called the staff to make sure the booking was done or not, he cut the call, my balance wasn’t deducted from my card so i thought it is not booked but the next day my balance was deducted. I contact the q station and booking.com but didnt got my refund.

This unique property is a kind of 'Disneyland' for anyone with an interest in history, and Australian flora and fauna. It exceeded my expectations in terms of having the liberty to adventure around the site, to explore and discover hidden gems around every corner. If you do stay, I would certainly recommend booking a place on the history tour. Learning about the significance of the site's songlines, the function and evolution of the Quarantine Station and some of the fascinating stories that transpired there, is an essential part of this accommodation experience. We were fortunate enough to have the passionate historian, Maureen, at the helm of our tour - a truly exceptional guide. The heritage rooms are quite spacious, the beds are comfortable and fitted with ample fluffy pillows, the shower has good water pressure and the small fridge in the room necessary and very much appreciated. Frequent shuttle buses are provided to ferry you where you need to go on the vast site, including trips to (and from) Manly, every hour till 9pm. When it comes to quirky and remote accommodation like this, the presence of passionate staff can really embellish the experience - it was obvious that some of the employees were truly enthusiastic about the site and its history - many thanks to Sohi, Jack and Manuel.
After travelling down a long road surrounded by bushland and peppered with signs about endangered bandicoots, you arrive at a carpark and reception building with very little idea of what to expect. When we entered the reception building, the local Australian radio station, Smooth FM was blaring through the speakers - complete with its incessant advertising. This 'earsore' immediately detracted from the serenity of the site and its uniqueness, resulting in a very dull and disappointing first impression.
Management need to also rethink the food that is on offer and provide more casual dining options as well as a vegan menu.

Location. Bed. Shower. Verandah. Harbour views close by.
Lack of fresh air when doors closed. Fan good but circulates warm air. Open the locked windows above doors and screen them. The damn bush turkeys are out of control. Keep coming into room and eating stuff. You shoo them but they dont care and just come back. Noticed they are growing heaps since last here. Used to see lovely possums and quolls on verandahs at night but now all bush turkeys everywhere. Very bad.
