the wonderful sea, the rocky shore perfect for snorkeling, availability of SUPs, kayaks, 2 types of "beach": concrete and pebble. If you love snorkeling/swimming, any water sports, this place is THE place for you! The sea shore makes up for any shortcomings you notice on the property.
Great dinner food, evening ambiente, the beautiful art artefacts/paintings in the hotel (lobby, restaurant). The hotel staff was SUPER-FRIENDLY, patient and helpful; their professional work elevate the class of this hotel. AV very well functioning, a nice view from the balcony (we had family room). Spacious bathroom. Free (!) parking - thanks for that!
Very clean pool, ping-pong table at the pool, snooker in the bar (even though not free). LOCATION!!!! Excellently positioned; water front and very close to Cefalu but not close enough to be overrun by crowds.
Some elements in the room were outdated and a bit rusty. Furniture not really a high quality. A bit irritation with with electric sockets in the room (too few, weirdly located). Stairs a bit dirty, dirt here and there in the building. Slow, timy and ancient elevator. Hotel Kalura is referred to as "Sport Hotel" - this is a bit ridiculous considering the size/equipment of the microscopic gym. Breakfast though pretty good becomes mundane after few days given that it is pretty identical each day. While we were very grateful for breakfast/lunch boxes on the days of early morning excursions (and missing breakfast), their content was not really exciting - please consider replacing those pudding crossaints with a regular sandwich! That would be a huge improvement. ;-)

It was ok! Friendly staff but pretty basic. Just a quick overnight before Palermo. Beautiful beach below but only saw it the morning we left.
Pillows were too high so not a great night sleep.

We had a great stay at Kalura and enjoyed our 5 nights there. Room size and air-con was great and it was also quiet. Access to the private beach and bar there was incredible, so nice to be able to go down to the beach at anytime without having to travel far. Buffet breakfast was a good selection and tasty.
The gym is very small with dated and limited equipment.
If you don’t have a car, taxis can be expensive into town. The suggestion of having a transfer bus a few times a day would be super helpful for guests. (It’s a 30 minute walk which would not be very nice in the heat).

View; food; staff; location
Our bed was too soft and chairs on balcony not comfortable and the 200 steps to get to the beach was difficult

We loved the fact it had a pool and private beach, and the views from the terrace and restaurant were absolutely exceptional.
The bed wasn't great, and the noise from all the dogs through the night wasn't ideal. The bathroom door was a glass screen which wasn't for us personally.

Beachfront, breakfast was good and lunch in one occasion had was also good.
Hairs on floor of bathroom, poor quality mattress with dip in middle, dated interior of lobby, breakfast room. pool not adjacent to hotel. Some staff friendly, most distinctly not. Very poor hospitality in comparison to Taormina where we had just come from. Wasn’t expensive however

The views are fantastic and the private beach magnificent . It has great free parking and facility’s are first class. The restaurant and bars have great views and are reasonably priced.
No tea making facilities in the room

great views, very clean.
was woken up numerous times during the night by doors slamming so loudly. Its not actually possible to close the doors quietly, I did try. You can hear everything from the rooms next door so clearly. you can hear conversations word for word. there are sliding bathroom doors which are very noisy.
There is no kettle in the room and water is so expensive. there are no shops nearby so you het trapped into paying ridiculous prices.

lovely location overlooking the see.
Friendly and helpful staff, particularly Angelo the bar person
Beds really comfortable and rooms very clean
Lift very small. Location very good, but very exposed to poor weather

The location on a cliff is great and the terrasse is really nice! most of the staff is nice and helpful.
We asked to change rooms during the stay and the staff was accommodating.
Some room furniture can be a bit old style, but it depends on the rooms as they are all different. depending on where you are in the hotel, you can hear the doors clapping in the morning… if you have a light sleep it could wake you up.

Access to the sea, with lifeguard on duty. The view was sensational. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable sun loungers. Walking distance to Cefalu (although hilly) Mini fridge / bar in the room.
could have been cleaner, our room although an excellent view was not super clean. some towels were stained and there were old coffee mug stains on the table.

Loved Kalura's beautiful ocean location and all of the nooks and crannies that allowed guests to feel they had a private retreat. Wonderful water access with plenty of lounge options. Our room was comfortable and had a ocean view terrace to enjoy the amazing sunset.

Nice location & views.
The place advertises itself as luxury but it's run down. You have to buy everything, including water, it's all over priced. Staff are rude.

The spaggia; the views and the staff
The bed and shower were awful, horrible bed

fab views and access to the ocean swim and lounge- breakfast was great and on site restaurant was good and with great open air dinning with a view
not an issue for us as we had a car , but not walking distance to the town

Superb view, excellent beach for swimming, spacious and clean rooms, only 50 minutes by train from Palermo.
All of the female staff and the younger male staff were friendly, but other staff seemed hurried and on one occasion rude.

Brilliant sea view.. Terrific terrace for evening meal and breakfast and super swimming pool. The walk down the cliff zig zag to the platform and small beach at the foot of the cliff was stunning
Nothing here

Terrace view was sensational
Rooms were a bit on the small side, but the views compensated for any shortcomings.

We stayed the a cornered family room so we got a very big 2-bedroom room with 2 balconies, with sea view.
note that the hotel is a 5 minute drive from the city center (we had rented a car).
The view from the room, breakfast restaurant and eastern part of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The fast that the Cefalu city center beach is facing west and the Kalura beach is facing east, so during the evening we watched the sunset in the city center and the following morning woke up to see the sun rise at the hotel.
The hotel has a beautiful private beach (with no sand and no rocks, so the pros of a pool with the pros of a sea). The beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. therefore, definitely worth the extra bucks for the location (and i strongly recommend to take a sea-view room). The hotel is on a small hill, therefore there are about 170 stairs to get down (and up) to (and from) the beach. The beach area has toilets and a decent-ish kiosk.
Breakfast was good.
The kettle in the room is a little old and is oddly placed away from the fridge. The fridge was working properly.

Great view and beach access. Studio room large and private. very easy parking. Large pool, plenty of seating.
Coffee making facilities but not for tea, no milk in fridge. Very minor issue.

Beautiful.setting for dinner on terrace overlooking the sea and the beach ...amazing
The rooms were a little basic and felt like they needed an upgrade

the location and the view. great private beach and a big pool - with an excellent ‘activity’ area with pool, table tennis etc
The breakfast buffet was good with various options
the restaurant had limited choices for lunch and dinner.

This hotel is in a beautiful location with incredible views. We stayed in a sea view studio room so we had an amazing view on our balcony terrace. The room was very spacious and kept very cool with the aircon so it was very comfortable. The swimming area by the rocks is beautiful and we never had any difficulty getting loungers there. It loses the sun at 4/4.30pm but the pool has the sun for the evening. The terrace where you have breakfast is also beautiful, and breakfast itself was perfect. We went into Cefalù town every night - the walk is about 20mins so it’s a nice walk on the way in. We always got a taxi back as it would have been too dark to walk at nighttime I think. Taxi was between 12-15€.
All in all, we really liked this hotel. It is a little expensive for certain elements of what you get, but the benefit of the swimming area and the views make it worth it!
We were initially a little disappointed with the room as it is a bit dated. However, it is very comfortable and spacious with incredible views so we very quickly realised we didn’t mind too much! Also, if you want to bring visitors out for a day then you have to pay for them.
