Staff very welcoming. Breakfast and the breakfast room very good. Overall decoration of the remainder of the hotel was nice.
Room was clean
Nice view over Durham.
My room was incredibly small. I was placed in the loft conversion which I believe is the same price as the remainder of the double rooms and was definitely not made clear prior to booking.
I am 5'5" and could not stand up in the room the ceiling is that low, cannot count the number of times i hit my head when moving around so mostly walked around hunched over. Room facilities were ok the bathroom was nice (at least you could stand up straight in it) nice that there was a fridge and microwave as well as kettle provided.
No blinds over a significant portion of the windows so woke up early by the light and as a result did not sleep well.
Internet temperamental. Netflix/disney/prime that were stated to be included did not work.
Felt like all of the furniture was just too much for such a small and low ceilinged room.
Overall felt very claustrophobic and overall stay not comfortable or relaxing and would not have booked room if I knew it was a tiny attic room
Also not too much of an issue for me but the hotel is situated at the top of an extremely steep hill even for Durham so if you have any mobility issues would need a taxi or car to get to the hotel.

Excellent choice at breakfast and excellent quality.
Superb location for quick access to city centre.
The bedroom door wasn't easy to lock/unlock with the key (room number 12 I think).

The staff we met were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially the manager, and even when we needed to telephone through a specific request before our visit, they went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We didn't have the breakfast, as we had other arrangements with local family, but the dining room appeared very clean and well organised, with a lovely view. It was great to have free parking on site.
Our room was comfortable, with everything we needed and a very clean, modern bathroom, but the bedding felt a bit past its best.

Location & fantastic room with a view!
Nothing of major concern other than the hairdryer being disappointing compared to all the rest of the fantastic facilities.

On arrivale we were greeted warmly.
Our room was large, brightly decorated, was overlooking the front garden and city. It was spotlessly clean.
There was smallish bathroom in the room, with a bath with shower over.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.
Breakfast! Wow what an array of goodies on offer...fresh fruits, loads if cerials, pain au chocolate, yoghurts, plus a cooked breakfast!
There is an Indian restaurant on the basement level of the building. We ate here the food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. & you get a 15% discount if staying.
There is ample parking and it's about a mile to walk into the centre.
