Stunningly restored riad, and Jan is an absolute pleasure to be hosted by – she is warm, effusive and very knowledgeable. She gave us a marvelous introduction to the city with advice on what to do. It was a short stay but she was always available and eager to assist.
The room was gorgeous – the most beautiful room of any of the places we stayed in Morocco. We were in the Mango suite (every suite is decorated and laid out in a very unique fasion). Everything is organised and thought-out – nothing has been forgotten. There were several ammenities that we usually only see in hotels, such as a minibar with snacks and a guide which included options for in-house massage. The room was spotless.
The terrace is exceptionally nice, with a view around the old medina of Salé. There is also an adorable tortoise named Sheila who came and visited us during breakfast. Breakfast was superb – a traditional Moroccan spread, and again one fo the nicest that we've had.
Another perk was that we were offered a key to the front door of the riad, which most places don't seem to have. This saved us having to knock or ring the doorbell when we got back from a late dinner. They also happily provided us beach towels for our Atlantic dip. The location is unbeatable, nestled in the old medina less than a ten minute walk from the beach.
Overall we couldn't have been happier. If ever we are back in Salé then we will be booking another room here!

Lovely room, very spacious bathroom and really lovely staff made our stay very comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace with the pet turtle was delicious and made us love the view. Dinner was delicious and a great intro to Moroccan cuisine. The staff was super helpful and gave us great tips on the hammam nearby, a very authentic experience!
Nothing :) We really enjoyed every aspect.

It was beautiful and unique!
We liked everything about The Repose, from the advice we received prior to arrival to our final parting.

Location inside the old city walls was great. Easy and quick walking distance to the souks, the Medersa, the marina district etc. You are inside the old city with its characteristic hustle and bustle. Once you step into The Repose, however, you find yourself in an oasis of quiet elegance totally removed from the vibrant city just outside. This riad has been carefully restored by skilled craftsman and the tile work, carpentry and wood carving are a joy to observe.
We highly recommend having dinner up on the rooftop terrace. A great meal prepared by their young chef and a breathtaking 360 degree view of the old city - a magical evening indeed!
I'm unable to come up with any advice for improvements. The food, the atmosphere and the staff were all exceptional.

The Repose is a very restful and pleasant place, from entry to topfloor terrace, with charming individual rooms. More importantly, as other reviewers have noted, Jan and Raschid are wonderful hosts, very prompt and clear communicators, very welcoming and very accommodating and respectful of guest needs and circumstances. We also appreciated the rest of the staff and enjoyed meeting their charming young family. My husband and I arrived to stay in their riad, convenient to the airport in Sale (neighbor city to Rabat), a few days in advance of an intense 10-day Nation-magazine-organized tour of four Moroccan cities, to ensure a restful transition after our flight. That plan worked very well, but we also found we learned a great deal about daily life in Morocco and local history, also in exploring the Sale medina, in which the riad is located. What a great start to this long-planned adventure!
A little more light in the room (we stayed in the beautiful all-blue one!) would be good, maybe an extra lamp and also second bedside table?

Wow! The welcome I received, so friendly and kind. The riad is beautiful and you can see how carefully and lovingly it has been restored. I could go praising The Repose but it would end up being a book! Can't praise the host's, the riad, the staff and the facilities enough. Just wonderful.
Absolutely nothing to dislike

Beautifully restored building with both a traditional Moroccan and modern feel- comfortable and relaxing with open air terrace .
The food was fantastic - really fresh and healthy ... a great breakfast to set you up for the day . The owners were really very helpful, especially as we had to leave early due to COVID19 . They were able to give advice and help with arrangements . Would definitely want to go back

Our stay was just wonderful. Jan, the owner, was so welcoming and helpful. The riad has a gorgeous terrace with a garden. The breakfast and dinner were very good, some of the best for us in Morocco.
It's a bit too loud in the Chefchaouen suite because of the busy street outside the window.
