The room wasn’t made up. the rooms were dark and dingy. Our friends room had a washer jammed over the smoke detector. We did not end up staying it was awful

The location was very handy to the Mackay sporting precinct. There were a few dinner options within walking distance (we ate at The Shamrock across the road and the food and service were very good). The parking and wifi were good and overall room cleanliness was good.

The facilities in the room were very basic and quite tired. There was one dining chair, one single-seater lounge chair and one occasional chair (which was very dirty/stained). The main overhead light was flickering constantly so couldn't be used. There was only one bedside table. There were no spare blankets. The water in the shower wouldn't maintain a steady temperature - it would suddenly get very hot and then go back to a pleasant temperature and then suddenly get hot again. Other guests started leaving very early in the morning (around 3am) and were extremely noisy. The sound insulation is poor so we were woken up by loud conversations, slamming car doors and vehicles starting. We have stayed here before and enjoyed it, but this stay was disappointing and we were glad we were only there for one night.

There was a lot of shouting several times through the night from other guests. The breakfast pancake machine was broken. The fridge in the breakfast room was broken. Our room was one which had no parking outside it, which was not convenient for getting our luggage in and out.
