Great getaway!

This beach is one of the reasonably calm beaches in this area. Otherwise the west coast is reputed to be very rough. The breakfast covers continental as well as local dishes. Adding pol rotti and Kiri pani would be nice.

The security at the beach wasn’t very helpful when I wanted lounger by the fence ( inside the premises). He wasted time by looking for pool staff. Eventually I had to drag one myself.

Service was super nice and friendly, wunderful beach close to the hotel. Only too less loungers in the pool area, sometimes we had to lay on the ground on the loungers Support. Breakfast very Good and our room was very big with a nice Balkony. Thank you for the wunderful stay!

A 3* hotel at best

We originally booked and paid for 2 nights but left after one night and moved hotels. We felt the property was extremely dated and it didn’t really have any facilities. They had a problem with the card machine when we tried to pay for drinks and they kept us waiting for an hour at 10pm at night in the lobby area rather than allowing us to go to our room until it was fixed. We didn’t enjoy our stay.

property is nothing like the imagery and rooms smelt really bad . horrible grout issues and toilet had broken tiles. needs a good clean and is far overdue refurbishment

My stay was lovely !

I totally loved my stay at The Palms . The room was clean and fancy, facing the sea, with a lovely view from the balcony .. the property has its own private beach with all amenities.. very considerate staff which made the stay all the more worthwhile .. peaceful resort with lots of palm trees just as the name suggests .. would surely recommend .. will be coming back again soon ..

Good value relaxed hotel.

Staff were very polite and courteous. The hotel was as expected and we enjoyed our stay overall. It was a peaceful place to stay and relax.

Some things are in need of investment and updating e.g. bathroom and pool towels were worn and some threadbare, Aircon unit very old and leaky.

Nice resort on the beach

-Staff were accommodating (we asked to move rooms due to a damp smell-this was no problem) -Suites were spacious with nice balcony and good AC -Good wifi -Good range of food options at breakfast -Lovely location on a long beach -Entertainment on all nights that we were there (piano players, fire show, drum band)

-Shower curtain in one of the rooms was dirty & needed to be changed -Issue with water draining after showers This is outside of the hotels control but when walking on the beach be prepared to be approached by locals trying to sell their merchandise. This was unnerving/intimadating at times.

Relaxing and comfortable

The beach, the staff and the cleanliness.

It needs a complete renovation especially the elevator and the pool. I preferred the new towels. And of course some amusements for the kids. Like pool slide, … Some showtime in the evening. The breakfast could be better though.

Nice hotel. bad staff

Outside areas are spacious and nice. Rooms good size, clean and modern. Wi-Fi very good. No power cuts here like most other places. Amazing breakfast. good for relaxing sunbathing break

service easily the worst I have experienced in Sri Lanka. some good service staff seemed rude. it was difficult to communicate with reception and customer service staff. the staff here work with local taxi drivers to overcharge you. all other hotels I visited in Sri Lanka help you get reasonable price taxis. process here l when you ask for an airport transfer is to ask you to speak to a group of tuk tuk driver from roadside who will change you 4 time more than anywhere else in country and there is no other options as hotel is at isolated location. also on last day we ordered takeaway breakfast to take on our journey. got taxi at planned time and no hotel staff were at reception or anywhere to get the food. had to leave without it and just leave keys on desk. would not stay here again.

As usual we enjoyed our stay and the treatment meted out to us this time made it even for special.

This was our fourth visit to the Palms, which in itself is a testimonial of our fondness for the hotel. We were treated like 'celebrities'. They even gave us a royal sit down dinner just for the two us and also upgraded us to a suite which was a surprise and the food on that night was exceptional. Amazing experience.

I would recommend that they improve on their daily menu as it requires a bit of updating. Their Chef is more than competent as demonstrated by him on the special dinner that we got.

Typical staycation type hotel - Not for youngster at all, DONT BOOK via Booking.com

There was not much to like but I will still try to jot it down :- 1. The hotel provided us with the anniversary cake, however I had to fight for the same. The lady on reception did not agree that they promised something for my anniversary till the time I showed them their own email 2. The hotel gave us 20% discount on the food and beverages (forgot during the time of billing n we had to remind them to correct it) 3. They give 2 big water bottle 4. The hotel room size is good

1. The hotel wibe is very oldish, the crowd their was mainly of the age group of 50s-70s. This is not for youngsters 2. The water was pale yellow in the washroom. I wonder what kind of water was it 3. The fan was not working on day one (moving at speed of 1 and made a lot of noise). On day 2 the fan was not going below max speed. They repaired the fan at the time we were in the room, killing our private time. 4. The reception staff was a little rude. 5. The chef at the egg station was very rude. Looked like he hated his job. 6. AC was not working properly 7. The hotel did not provide us the food that we requested on breakfast even when we told them that we are ready to pay, they said right now there is too much rush. I suppose the whole point of the hotel is that you can pay and get the service. 8. Hotel location is very off. There is no restaurants or any near by space. 9. The hotel doesnt provide any lessons such as - Yoga, Surfing etc (on paid basis). This is provided in near by hotels at paid basis 10. The bathroom is very small 11. The cleaning team did not clean our room when we are away. They came to clean our room at 5 pm when we were in the room, killing our private time again 12. They were not ready to pack the breakfast for us when we went early for surfing on another beach 13. Our driver was not provided the room even when there was a facility for the same in the premises. They said if you book via booking.com we can not provide you the room

The room was amazing

Loud music was playing under the room all evening. The meal wasn't tasty And hotel organized a transfer for us, the driver delivered us to another hotel :)))
