The Motel was very central to everything we had planned to do.

Our go-to accommodation in Christchurch!

This was a second time staying at Southern Comfort and we were just as impressed as the first time. Great location, friendly staff and a super comfortable room! The modern bathrooms are a personal fave! Thank you!

False advertising!!

It was quiet and good location

The pictures provided does not represent the rooms you get...ours was run down old and worn the shower and kitchen facilities was not as nice as the picture. Very disappointing. Lucky only stayed for 1 night Cutlery was dirty too.

Not great to come back to at the end of a busy day working.

Close to town. Spacious. Great hot water

The room was so noisy, ( we were told by staff it would not be noisy at night), however, the Boy racers and cop sirens went on till near 3 am. A single bed was situated over wardrobe in 2nd room, had to move to hang clothes in the wardrobe, this room had a door adjoining another unit, it adjoined to a bathroom/toilet, the smell and the noise coming through from the toilet was not enjoyable! Forks are so cheap, they bend when using them!

Nice room with everything you need.

Easy to find hotel, close to shops, restaurants and bus stop to town center. It is about 20 minutes walking time to the center. The room was clean, bed comfortable and plenty of hot water in the shower. It had all we needed.

Friendly staff, very well stocked Kitchen, comfortable Beds, Laundry facilities on-site,

Room was quite dated and nothing like the pictures (actually our room was the very last picture). It felt quite cheap. The hotplate couldn't reach the plug so had to find an extension. Not a lot of parking for the amount of rooms. No Aircon the one Fan wasn't enough for 2 Rooms so we had windows open all day and night but it was quite noisy with constructions next door. Once all rooms are renovated it should be much better.

good for short trips

- location is convenient - room is large - comes with spa pool - everything clean and tidy - large tabletop for cooking

- the bathroom is always wet, even after we went our for the whole day and come back, the floor and anything we hang for drying are still wet - no wardrobe or similar facilities for hanging clothes, a bit inconvenient - the heater is a bit weak, there is heating mat on bed so it's fine when sleeping, but when not in bed, sometimes it's a bit cold (we come from warmer places so not used to this) there is no partition/screening between the living room and spa pool area, a bit of privacy issue, and steam will go all over the living area

The noise coming from a room above at 1.30am. Yelling. Then woken again at about 4.30 with the woman screaming at the guy. On talking with my neighnbours next morning they had yelled out to them at about midnight to shut up. I mentioned this noise to management on checking out. Not their fault. Made for an unpleasant stay

Awesome for our needs and great location 😃

Offered everything we were looking for as had lots of plans to catch up with friends and family so only needed a comfy, warm room, which we had. Other options gave other options if required.

Had a slight problem with the door but was quickly rectified.

Very Happy Return Customers.

Spacious rooms complete with everything you require. Repeat customers and always very happy with the rooms. Great kitchen facilities, heating, electric blankets, fans, everything you may need. Hint: if you have lots of luggage don't book an upstairs unit.

Just mediocre

The room was clean and tidy.

It was noted on my booking that my room had stove. There was an empty gap where one had once been. I was relying on a stove to cook my evening meals on. Eventually I found a portable twin hot plate (not a stove) in a cupboard. The owner phoned me asking for $100 deposit before I had left to fly there. I paid the $100 expecting that to come off the total amount. When I checked in I was told that the $100 was a bond for any damage and that I still had to pay the full amount. I would get the bond back when I checked out. I was annoyed that this was not stipulated in the advertising of the room - it was only after I had booked that the bond was mentioned and I had to go hunting for it in the terms and conditions - this was unacceptable as I had budgeted on a certain amount and would not have an enough for food - I ended up having to use other funds that had been allocated for something else to use to eat.

I asked for large double bed. But the lady at the counter she gave us 2 bedrooms instead of 1 large bed. Which was not we needed. We were 3 people included 1 14 months old baby. So we 3 suppose to share 1 bed. Which is not comfortable. Moreover the room she gave us was quite old. Furniture was too old even sofa can't sit on those. Very low quality. We paid $110 for cheapest quality of room.

Parking right in Front, good sized room, nice, clean bathroom, kitchen area with everything you need and impeccable room service.

TV not a smart TV, and you couldn't lock the bathroom door

Very clean tidy unit nice and comfortable. Great central location . The bed was good, everything you need for a weekend away .

A lot of traffic noise, however you expect that as you are very central to everything.

Apart from having to pay extra the stay was ok

We had to pay for a roller bed which was expensive and we booked for two beds but apparently there was a muck up so wasn’t happy about that

A pleasant accomodation but basic with good location

The location was great A pleasant motel with kitchen facilities Has a great shower Beds good

Was a newly painted unit, paint smells very strong which meant having the windows open, so was cold . Noisy too as we were the end unit next to a busy road. I have allergies, so did find this difficult. Also we felt it would have been nicer to have a door for the toilet
